She is a Dramatic Contralto and Polyphonic. Not just one in a 7 billion but might be one in whole life of universe.
I can imagine her standing on top of the mountain with earth burning down, summoning Gods energy with her arms open ready to fight a demon to save the end of the world and wind blowing her hair. Just incredible.

This was a Russian show were all the judges are singers themselves and they sing for each other a different style of song in different categories and then passed judgement on the other singers.
You will not be surprised to hear that even though she was only 18 here ,they all gave her top marks for this performance and she won the first episode.
The guy who stands up in the back is a famous opera singer in Russia and the husband of another famous opera singer, so that is why he appreciated her performance so much.
The rest of the judges sing as well in the shows and dress up for their performances, so they are in costume each week.
Diana sings 9 different songs in this show, some in English but mostly in Russian, but all are great. If you want to look at another English song from the show, she does a cover of the Depeche Mode song Personal Jesus, which is original.
But you can hardly go wrong picking any song she sings as she makes everyone of them her own.
Maybe if you are interesting you could see her sing Human or Wicked Game in another show when she was 15

I can assure you that Diana is a 100% beautiful Russian woman. I have followed her since she was 14 and listened to everything she sang from the age of 5-6 years old. She is simply unique amongst female vocalists.

This Russian TV show is a little different than conventional singing talent shows....all the "judges" are just fellow singers. They were all forced to sing in a different genre each week and they scored themselves 1-9 (not including themselves). Nobody shooting for a big prize...just more of a TV variety show for singers. FWIW, Diana was the youngest (18) and least established singer og the group but ended up with the highest point total after the two month TV series. Diana first went viral at 14 years old on another TV show called You are Super that showcased minors who were orphans, disadvantaged or spent a good time without parents. You ought to check out Dernière Danse (in French) and Wicked Game (in English) from that series if you have any interest in Diana after this. Even at 14 she had a deep, powerful voice of a fully grown, mature woman.

Great reaction! She is a dramatic contralto (think Cher or Annie Lennox). She also sings with polyphonic overtones. She turned 20 yo this spring and will only get better as she matures. Check her back story for a very moving tale.

No she is a Female her voice is like that because she is a Contralto.
Another "vocal coach" that has never heard of Contraltos before.
You heard the name but you keep emphasizing the "u" on Ankudinova while the intonation is CLEARLY on the letter "i" that is why you can not pronounce the last name correctly, keep practicing.
On this competition the judges were also the contestants they judge themselves that is why they all wear costumes, because when the do not judge they sing.
Diana was 18 years old on this performance, she is 20 years old now and she is a Dramatic Contralto her natural voice is deep you can search for the term.
If you continue listening to her you will hear a lot more crazier stuff than this.

She can channel enormous energies, grab our attention and take us to her world.
It's good to see how talent shines when given opportunity in professional enviroment.
She already trained her voice even further at the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts (GITIS) in Moscow where she studies, yet
she is still super young (20, 18 in this show), and personal experience cannot be exchanged with the very much always needed learning, doing drills after drills after drills (Like Dimash Kudaibergen).
Some details of this performance:
This perfomance was from the ShowMaskGoon: a TV show on Russian NTV channel where the best/winners of 3 earlier music shows (The Mask, You are Super, Superstar), 9 singers perform 9 songs of 9 categories over the 9 shows/Editions, and vote/judge each other at every Edition's end. So 8 of them (+ the guest) are watching while one of them perfoms on the stage (which not only got interactive background, dancers, etc. etc. but also 2 performance in every show is supported with VR technology, giving full virtual surrounding to the performer), singing live. So Diana was sitting with them when others performed. This gave the young singer (18 here, soon 20) excellent opportunity to try herself in 9 styles during the 9 episodes.
In each round, the participants will be offered nine topics: for example, one will perform a folk song, the second - a song by a Grammy award winner, the third - a rock hit , etc. "
The nine categories are: "People's Hit", "Song of the End of the 20th Century", "Soviet Song", "Hit from Every Iron", "Song of Your Choice", "New Music", "Song from a Movie or Cartoon",
"Rock Hit" and "Songs of the Grammy Award Winners and Laureates".
This song in this first show is for the last category "Songs of the Grammy Award Winners and Laureates".
So in this way it is good she can experience so many cool performances first hand, live, inspired, and also singing 9 songs from different genres will be challenging but rewarding in the long term.

She is singing since little child, auditioned for Voice Kids at age of 13 but got no votes (20M+ views on her Jodel time attempt making it the most viewed audition of any non chosen performer).
Then at age of 14 her "You are Super!" (Ты супер) era started: they made a show for kids with tormented background*, where they made funny, beautiful performances, like sailors dancing around them, etc.
Then Diana entered, with a voice of an Earth goddess. And since the crew was highly professional they did excellent job giving her the opportunity to shine. She took it, won that season (Season 2), and the season 3 (Super Season where the best returned) at age of 15.

Greetings from Scotland! Diana was 18yo here and is 20yo currently but I've been following her since she was around 13yo. Diana is a natural Dramatic Contralto so the lower registers are her comfort zone but she now has a 5 octave range and it's increasing. She also naturally sings with polyphonic overtones so it sounds like many voices at the same time!
Diana's birthmother had multiple miscarriages but when Diana came along, she seemed to hate her. She verbally and physically abused her, trying to drown her and belittle her. It all culminated when (at 3yo) a passing relative found her in her home with a broken collarbone and several other injuries. She went for the authorities who removed Diana from her birthmothers care and placed her in an orphanage. For almost 2 years Diana never gave up hope and she knew that she was meant for something better. (This story is in her Wikipedia entry) Finally her new mother (Irina Ponik, who worked as a masseuse there occasionally) Signed her adoption papers and took her home. She vowed to pay Irina back for her kindness. Irina had a real struggle because Diana had obviously been badly affected by the experiences and at 5yo, she had a very bad stammer. It was recommended that she be taken for singing lessons to help this and immediately it was recognised that Diana had perfect pitch and an excellent ear for music and songs. 1 year later, at 6yo, Diana was performing solo on stage!
This young unique phenomenon sang everywhere and anywhere she could, working constantly to earn money for the family who rescued her. This is an "after-party" of a Mask show (some famous singers are performing in a big masks, trying to be not recognised).
Here nine participants of Mask show, all professional singers, are performing a song per issue, nine issues, all in different styles and genres. Then these nine + guest star voted for each other. These voting was "chaotic", but the result had matched overall vocal performance. Diana won.

She is a very gifted young woman, having the rarest type of voice, Contralto, and, at the time this video came out she hadn't even reached her full vocal capacity, so now her voice must sound even deeper

Here are three reasons why Diana (the Queen of Goosebumps) doesn't sound human. First, she is a contralto, which is the absolute rarest type of female voice. It allows her to sing very dramatic/powerful, very (I mean VERY) deep, very dark, very rich. Second, she has a spectacular larynx. She's been called the vocal Eighth Wonder of the World. Third, she is polyphonic, which means she can produce multiple harmonics within her voice at the same time. This is what allows her to sound like two people at once. (more below) When you add all that up you basically get a person who creates her own auto-tune. She doesn't need electronic auto-tune. She IS her own auto-tune. And the effect when you hear her is totally mind-blowing. It's like she's singing right through you, like a sword straight into your soul. Literally NOBODY else on the planet has a voice like hers. She's not one in a million, she's one in eight billion. Having watched well over 100 initial reactions to her, only one did NOT say she was "unique".
