This plane is so OP that you can be braindead and still stomp on the others. The speed, climb and energy retention is second to none. My favourite prop fighter.
@SOLDIER_SKID invest in weapon maintenance in the logistics. I maxed it out and with an ace crew you can shoot for hundreds of rounds without jamming.
Speaking of the 6.0 hole with Ju 288 swarms, I actually had a nice time flying out the Lancaster for the first time. If the enemy team has a lot of Ju 288's you can be lucky to be left alone.
The p51h is an absolute beast of a plane at 6.3 and in real life unfortunately never got to see action in ww2 and Korea as the air national guard fighter until the 1950s. Today one of them is airworthy. The Down sides with this plane are limited wep 7 min and not continue wep on the d model. Ta-152, spit, Japanese, g.56, will give you a hard day.
I remember when you did my suggestion of the F7F back then. Like... WAY back then. Thanks for that. The P-51H is an AMAZING aircraft. My favorite. If it can't out turn it _cough cough_ ta-152H _cough cough_ you can out rate it, and when it comes to prop planes, it basically out rates everything if you keep your speed up. Nothing better than making some dude bleed so much energy to turn into you that you're still going 300-350kmh and the other dude is going 250kmh.
The one thing I like about 50 cals at this BR is the range. You can sometimes get some lucky head on snipes with them. Problem is it'll likely just be a crit

The 50 cals are alright but i find everyone says "50 cals start so many fires" but i never kill someone with a fire, not often. I think over 80 percent of the time when i light a fire they put it out and fly back to base while im occupied with other planes. Often i dont have time to continuously keep passing them to light them on fire again lol just my gripe. Maybe the snail just hates me.

The other idea is well, for me, an og player coming back i feel so pressured by the new time of 20 mins, what is a way to play smart / work around that timer with slow climbers / lower performers besides getting good with defence 🤣

I consider it to ve the best prop. It is fast, climb like a bearcat, acceleration is a beast and agile against most plane in the BR being careful of zero,. Spitfire and yak 3 Ta 152 turn with flaps shouldn't be underestimated.. Complain guns and Ju 288. The bf 109 k4 was scary for the d but not the H. The only plane that is its equal is the spitfire mk 24 but with 4 20mm at 7.0 br. Imagine if the mk 24 was at 6.0 then good bye ju 288.
I dont like the repair cost of it, even after the economy revisions. the plane is absolutely great in performance though, its what got me to rank 5 USA.
I picked this game up after a year off and Gayjin once again ruined my control setup on controller. This time unable to bind what I need to bind to be competitive. Further making this game far past then what made it great in the first place… years of 25min timer. Teams that rush to scramble and get swacked in the first 4 minutes. Every plane almost has fire suppression now? Guess I’ll be back next year maybe. 😢

I'm gonna say this plane is very nerfed and broken. I've had Yak's, BF-109s, F8F's, and Spitfires all out turn, out boom and zoom, out shoot, out climb, out dive, and out head on in every way possible. This is in dozens of rounds and against hundreds of players and the P-51H is rarely the winner. I get that there are better players but when I zoom down from 4K meters on a BF-109 and he is turning so much that I can't put guns on him, it makes sense that I can't hit. But when I zoom up and he climbs with me and shoots me down from behind it becomes cheat mode. Yaks, Spitfires, and F8F's have done this same thing easily. I'm not getting into a turn fights, but everyone else can be in a horizontal hard banks and then catch me in a zoom climb. It is broken and War Thunder needs to fix it or address cheating. These same planes one shot me all the time with a maneuver kill at 500 kph multiple times in the same match. I don't have this issue in DCS or World of Wareplanes.
50 BMG real effective range was about 500 meters, i had mothers in this plane hitting me from 1600 meters which is a joke. Also the P-51 was actually a quite fragile plane IRL even after some MG hits because of the laminar flow wing. It also is a joke that P-51H5 as so many other USA planes are good or exellent at ALL ALTITUDES. For me this is just a plane put in so rookies get easy kills. who can not be succcessful in this plane? Dev team should really be fired so new people can be brought in and reset this misch mash of a game that we have now. How many of the old players actually enjoy this game anymore?

She's definitely one powerful pony. Fixes a lot of the issues I've had with the D models.
well ta152 has better ER but indeed p51h is better at most situations
If there's one thing I've learned about war thunder, it's that props are so much more fun than jets
also early jets are cool because you get the speed but also the dogfights with guns and without missles

The good part about the 50cals is ammo capacity you can spray on people and still last till the end without landing to reload love the p51s
yeah true, altough 270 rpg on 4 of the 6 guns isnt very spray friendly ;)

What does out rate mean
The one thing I like about 50 cals at this BR is the range. You can sometimes get some lucky head on snipes with them. Problem is it'll likely just be a crit

I like that you go for those JU 288 C on the sides since the side gunners are only 13mm guns instead of that deadly 20mm on the rear.
I had to learn how to hit 288s

Very precise and on point man...! :) H is extremely strong, which makes it sometimes weak, because players tend to feel overconfident..

An under tiered airplane but considering mk24 is at 7.0 and faces jets all the is not a solution
they need to go to 13.0 for the top tier so they can seriously decompress stuff.
