    I just put 6112 on my truck and can't thank you enough for this honest video. They're exactly how you described. I haven't gotten them off road yet but the freeway and street is better than stock. Anyone considering leveling please don't put a spacer like I did. I got the look but the ride sucked. Oh I'm a Ram 4x4 owner but we're all off-roaders at heart. Keep up the great videos. Thanks again

      The only thing I would suggest is adding the SPC upper control arms. Makes it soo much nicer and gives your coil better clearance plus improved ride. They are fully adjustable and don't break the bank.

    Hey thanks for the video!
    I think this settles it for me. I was going to do an icon stage 4, but then I had to realistically figure out if I wanted to spend $6,000 on a suspension when I’m 95% road between states with some light towing and the occasional 26’ camper like you...

      6112’s are beefier shocks and they come with tuned coils. The 6112’s and the 5160’s in the rear, both have more volume for better cooling and less fade. Other than the shocks I installed 1” blocks w/new u bolts, new brake lines (not a necessity), and 265/75 r16 Toyo AT2 tires.

    I have a 2007 Tundra. I am also rock’n Bilstein 6112 / 5150 I’ve had my set up for 2 years plus. All the great points you made I agree with. I will add that it is a firm ride as a daily commuter but it is a truck so it don’t dive like a car. Also if you want to complete this set up you need Raceline UCA $400. Also go to Coachbuilder a.k.a David Ekstrom Design. Recommend the 2 inch shackle and his steering rods. I followed his recommendations on how to tie this system together and it is absolutely awesome! He’s a great guy and will advise you free of charge.

    I had a ram 1500 and I regretted leveling it with the 5100s. They improved the highway handling, but on rough Pennsylvania backroads they were straight up harsh riding, every little bump and crack in the road was felt throughout the whole truck, just picked up a 19' trd offroad tundra, hesitant about the 6112s but want to level it

What size wheels are you rocking for those 33’s the 1794 comes with 20” wheels which look like crud with off road tires on it so I’m sure I’ll have to dig a bit deeper into the pockets and spring for new rims and tires as well . See I just bought my truck about a year ago used is 2014 TRD off road limited with a 100000 miles but it came with a levelling kit I think it was this not even sure but a 2.5 to 1" inch in the back. I feel this truck rides rough With the stock suspension I wanna pull levelling kit out and use the 6112 to raise it up to that same height would you think that would be a better set up?

    After much research, I think I'm going with this setup for my 2020 DCLB Tacoma. I'm getting a 1300 pound popup camper for it eventually, so I need a suspension that will perform well both on and off road at max payload. Considering that usage, I'll probably upgrade to HD leafs and add anti-sway bars as well and maybe even rear airbags. This will be a heavy ass rig by the time I'm done and I don't want to compromise anything on ride and capability. It needs to be comfortable on road, reasonably capable off-road and stable.
    Anyone have suggestions for leafs, stabilizer bars, airbags, etc for 3rg gen Tacoma? Thanks.

    So I have the 5160s on my 2015 Tundra Pro. The rear passenger has blown up already and warranty would not cover them due it being 1000 miles over(37000). Bilstein will not work with me because they say it's not a regular Bilstein and it's a Toyota Proprietary design. Not paying $675 for one replacement shock! These are supposed to be rebuildable and only found one place in Sonoma, CA that rebuilds them

    Great video thank you. But please never run blocks even in the rear, especially up front. Most modern lift kits consists of blocks however their horrible on your suspension and especially on your ball joints up front. For the front get the proper coilovers and upper control arms instead of blocks and for the rear either a add Leaf, shackle, or new leaf spring. I understand saving some money or having a daily driver but you can find all that stuff on a budget. And if you get serious you can always straight axle or long travel suspension your rig. And if you don't want to cut up the rear of your rig and would like longer travel suspension there's always cantilever systems that fit under your bed if you give up your spare tire.

      You probably found an answer all ready but just in case... Dampers are velocity sensitive and springs are position sensative. The sag between different dampers will be effectively the same. However, the 5160s may control the load better about that same sag point.

    • @mariannacyprich5421
      @mariannacyprich5421 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ride is stiffer, removes the braking nose dip, which was truly scary in critical situations on factory suspension. It has less body roll, My setup is 6112 + 5160 4Runner SR5, 1.25 inch in front - (aimed for leveling not lift). Cornering is much better. It also helps remove some part of motion sickness when driving around on curvy roads of East Tennessee. Speed bumps are much controlled and smoother. It does not remove the little imperfections on the road but that is where manipulating the tire pressure helps.

      King shocks are nice however Bilstein are just as good if you spend the extra cash to have them build you some they have a custom shop. King shock are more known for the off-road Market or Baja type stuff they also have a lot of contracts with trophy trucks and Baja race teams and are constantly working with the race teams and their suspension setups. Bilstein is less known but definitely all over the OEM game you can normally find just as good quality in a Bilstein without having to pay for the bigger names. I used to work in a Fab shop in San Diego and we set up a lot of trucks with Bilstein setups they're great for on-road and off-road.

Thanks.

      Wade D. Yeah, that’s an expensive set up. I honestly would look into the Fox 2.5 if you’re planning on spending that much money. My truck sits pretty level. With the leaf springs it my sit a hair higher but it’s tough to tell. I will take some still shots and send them your way. Unless your planning on off roading your rig hard everyday, or it’s only use is offroad, I would think the ICON system is overkill.
