    Before I saw the made up version of the jumpsuit, I said it needs a belt and there you went and did it.😅 It looks gorgeous.

      Thank you Zelda! I never used to wear belts but they really can elevate or "finish" an outfit can't they?

      @dizzyquiltsandsews I never liked belts either until I tried one on a dress I am wearing for Mother's Day. Stop by tomorrow to see the dress. Happy Mother's Day, my beautiful friend! 🌟

    Still loving the jumpsuit 💙 and you absolutely nailed the fitting! I can't believe it is just a toile, good enough to be the finished article in my eyes. It will be fab in the other fabric though so can't wait to see that.
    When I saw someone show the BTPD I thought WOW! What on earth would I make with that 😂. Can't wait to see what you and the others come up with.
    The Patina won for me as well 💕 I wear Me Made every day as I don't have anything else now apart from jeans so I don't participate in it as even if I don't like the items, I'm stuck with them 😂 . Have fun at the party this weekend 🎉 xx

      Thank you Carole! I don't want to brag or anything, but I am so proud of the fit I got! And this is with a solid fabric - when I make this with a busy print, it's going to look perfect! LOL I'm really and truly stumped with the BTPD fabric... xx

    Re MeMadeMay... I am not officially participating, but I am taking note of what I reach for and wear each day. The hardest part of organizing any season we are in, is clearing out me made clothing! I am slow at making things and hate to see anything go . I like the way you are doing the photos, and see that is an excellent way to visually decide pretty quickly :)

      I know what you mean about letting go of me-made garments. I feel the same way so if the garments are still in good condition, I prefer giving them to people I'm close with. At least I know they're going to a good home.

    Hi Izzy! The jumpsuit looks great. I get you on the elastic and the waistband. I'm doing the same thing on my Kineton dress I'm currently making. My wearable toile is fine, but the waist was uncomfortable after sitting a work for several hours. I'm replacing it with longer elastic and using longer elastic on my current one. I'm dying to see your Think Pink make; I love those videos! I don't know what was in the box so I can't give you any suggestions :( It was such a surprise to see you this morning. I hope you can join us again. Take care!

    The jumpsuit is so pretty! Don’t wear the uncomfortable silver shoes 😂!I LOVE your favorite outfit. It makes me happy too. My me made May has been successful. I am so happy to see that more than half my clothes hanging in the closet are clothes I made. I am also finding that I am seeing what it is that I like or don’t like about my items when I pair them. It is definitely giving me some direction for next sews.

      Thank you Christine! I don't think I'm going to wear the uncomfortable shoes. Me Made May is so much fun isn't it? I also love that 95% of my tops are now me-mades and I'd say about 50% of my bottoms.

    You looked amazing in the jumpsuit after you styled it! A lesson we all need to remember, go the full distance before you decide :) I loved the belt , it really finished the styling nicely. For your new outfit, I vote for the duster. I haven't seen anything like that on your channel yet :)

    • @dizzyquiltsandsews
      @dizzyquiltsandsews  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes - style the garment into a "real" outfit before you decide... love that! So often, I try stuff on with ugly socks, no styling, etc. I should just leave the garment on a hanger for the night and put it on as if I was going to wear it to work the next morning. I'm really tempted by the duster... I don't own a duster! :-)

    You had a very successful week, jumpsuit is fabulous. So happy for you and get rid of those silver uncomfortable shoes, really! Most of my tops are me made except for some very causal Life is Good t-shirts. I do need to get serious about some pants. I have been organizing my fabric stash this week and recording everything on cards in a file. Really trying hard to stay on top of things. Been making bucket hats for friends, birthdays, having fun doing it. Happy Mother’s Day!

    Hello Izzie. Your jumpsuit looks amazing and the fit is near perfect. Someone once told me a rule of thumb for waist elastic is 2" less than the body's waist measurement - nothing worse than uncomfortably tight clothing. Oh, and Sunday is Mother's Day in Australia too. I look forward to seeing how you manage your Think Pink subscription dilemma.

    • @dizzyquiltsandsews
      @dizzyquiltsandsews  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      2 inches less than the waist measurement sounds like a much better plan! I’m really struggling with the Think Pink fabric - every time I think I have a good plan, I change my mind!!

  • @donnaschindlbeck7457
    @donnaschindlbeck7457 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I agree with the others, your jumpsuit does look amazing! I’m so excited to see your final garment! When you choose your belt find one that is a bit wider than your elastic so it covers it well. Regarding your Think Pink Box, I don’t know if the fabric is knit or woven but if it’s a knit be sure to follow the instructions on using a knit for the Songbird. I’ve worn mine several times this spring and love it. I think all of us struggle with what to wear this time of year. 🌦️🌞🥶🤷🏻‍♀️but I have to say, last year after I took Whitney’s class I selected more cohesive fabrics and patterns that went well together and a more limited color palette. It has been so much easier to get dressed! I still love a well chosen print though😊

    • @dizzyquiltsandsews
      @dizzyquiltsandsews  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you Donna! The elastic on the waist is only 1/2" and the belt I got is 1" so I should be good. The BTPD fabric is a woven so it should work really well for the Songbird if I decide to make that. I think part of my problem right now is that I've curated my colour palette too much LOL I'm bored with navy and want more colour!! Let me tell you... the Think Pink fabric is going to help inject more colour in my wardrobe LOL

    hi Izzy...a cami and palazzos sounds like fun for the new pink box fabric. I haven't posted them yet...maybe some this weekend..but have taken a few pictures in the work bathroom with a big mirror. It's helping me with my style. Decided I really like my tops a bit more fitted even though my tummy will be obvious whatever I wear. Will probably end up giving away a Springfield woven top I just made in blue cotton poplin from BTPD. Cute fabric and it actually fits but I feel like I'm wearing a maternity top. xx Karen

    • @dizzyquiltsandsews
      @dizzyquiltsandsews  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I’m really tempted to make a cami and shorts combo with the Think Pink fabric (I don’t think I would have enough fabric for palazzos). I think it would make a great outfit for an informal BBQ this summer. I even have a cut of solid linen that would make a great relaxed shirt to wear on top if I want to wear the cami for working from home. It’s funny you should say that about the tops you like to wear because I was wearing a shirt made with cotton poplin today and I hated how it felt. I kept hearing Jen from Everyday Style saying « structured tops add volume ». I think tops that are fitted but in a less structured fabric look really good on me. Xx

      @@dizzyquiltsandsews so interesting that you felt that way about cotton poplin. I adore the fabric and I’ve even thought about cutting it up to put in a quilt and I’m not sure the texture would be just right. Such a journey, figuring this out. Have a good one Izzy

    Oh Izzy I had a little giggle at you trying your jumpsuit when you were tired. You have done this before and when you have styled the next day your opinion has changed. Your jumpsuit looks lovely. I am about to make my second one too. Having taken notice of everyone’s comments about the elastic I did what I usually do on a casing and topstitched on the edge. This did the trick and actually gave a nice finish. ❤

    • @dizzyquiltsandsews
      @dizzyquiltsandsews  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don’t know why I do that 🤣 I should know better by now that NOTHING is going to look good on me at 11 PM at night! What do you mean by « topstitched on the edge »? Do you mean a line of stitching along the length of the elastic, following the seamline?

    • @maz9917
      @maz9917 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@dizzyquiltsandsews I mean a line of top stitching along the very top edge of the neckline casing, not batching the elastic but it narrows the casing and helped prevent twisting.

    WOW the Avenir looks so good. I have one which I love and have fabric for another- too many projects and not enough time to sew!! I have 2 months worth of Think Pink fabric in my stash and keep flip flopping over what to make!! Love this month’s fabric and want to make a sort of caftan dress I think but last month’s fabric is not a great colour for me so cannot make up my mind. Can’t wait to see what you make. I have made the Songbird duster in a pale pink large patterned viscose which I love but haven’t worn yet. Like you. Have been sorting my wardrobe and clearing out - quite cathartic. Anyway, Happy Sewing. 😊 Lynne

    • @dizzyquiltsandsews
      @dizzyquiltsandsews  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you so much Lynne! I love sewing up my Think Pink fabric right away for many reasons, but sometimes, I make quick decisions and the garment doesn’t work out. Last month is the perfect example of that. I really don’t love the shirt I made with it and probably will never wear it again 😩 I just don’t love wearing cotton poplin. I should have used it as a quilt back which would have been absolutely gorgeous. Oh well… live and learn I guess. Xx

    Hi Izzy, lovely video again. Thinking about the Think Pink fabric, it has quite a bold pattern so I was wondering if it would need solid colour garments under it and, if so, do you have these already? Anything you make will be beautiful as it is gorgeous fabric.
    Enjoy your weekend, Happy Mother’s Day for Sunday. X

    • @dizzyquiltsandsews
      @dizzyquiltsandsews  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good point - I was thinking about that yesterday. It would make a beautiful duster but I don’t think I have any solid tops that would go well with it. So maybe I should make a nice blouse. Or maybe a shorter layer and a cami. Do people even wear sets like that anymore? 😂
