    I know you demo gear for the channel but I really appreciate that you still have videos like this and stuff like getting tones etc...

    Thank you. I just got my first guitar with Floyd Rose. This helped a lot.

    This THE Floyd setup video. Stretching is parmount, and Euge does it like I do. You want to make sure you don't actually kink a string doing it. I received a used guitar with fret buzz on one string at one fret. It took me hours to figure out it had nothing to do with fretwear, relief or action, but a subtle kink on that one string.

    Great, and thank you for that one on how to do this. I like the springs explanation and have set mine that way and staying in tune. I like the string split at the peg as well.

    Tite-Fits are the most underrated strings. Round cores last longer than hex, and are easier to bend. Yet they hold up better to tremolo picking at a light gauge.

    I block the trem completely (both directions) in a perfectly level position and then i loosen the springs a bit.
    Once the strings are changed and stretched, i can intonate as well as tune the strings easily in the perfect level position. As if it was a fixed bridged guitar.
    Once i remove the blocker wedges, the trem is of course going to rise a bit, because of the loosen springs. Then i just tighten the springs until the A string is back in tune.
    The trem should now be perfectly level, pefectly intonated and all the strings should be in tune, or at least in a very close fine-tune range.
    I 3D printed the blocker wedges for my guitars. Each guitar has their own set of course, as the routed cavities are unique on each guitar.

    I had to FR Guitars, the JEM 70V and the N24, that where constantly going out of tune while Dive Bombing or even touching the Trem. What i did was spend a new set of Locking Blocks and i filed the Knife Edges back to feeling smooth again using a Diamond Fret File. Now they stay in tune perfectly again!

    Great video. What action do you set the strings to ? Looks like rough treatment but the esp can take it. I have an alexi-600 and you can just tell its very sturdy built.

      Thanks! Wherever it feels good and playes well with any particular guitar. No idea about any measurements ’cos they’re obviously totally secondary. At least to me.

    nice vid.. your spring spacing i will have to try.. decked Floyds like the Peavey Wolfgang are some of the most stable instruments i own.. people also need to watch the break angle across the locking nut.. it MUST be parallel to the locking nut shelf.. a lot of common issues with cheaper floyd guitar WITHOUT a string retainer bar is that the locking nuts need to do too much work and slip out of tune.. adding a string bar will help cure that.. locking nuts REALLY help tuning stability.. but need fine tuners on the bridge side.. I personally believe if Gibson style guitars had a locking NUT with tune-o-matic with TP-6 fine tuners.. there would be a lot more happy GIbson owners. takes the D/G tuning issues away..

    Nice, I have wanted to see how in the world you personally can have a floating Floyd for up and down effects that can stay in tune without a trem hinge regulator.(It's like a trem setter that acts like a door pivot stop inserted in the rear cavity.) I have all mine set flush to the body for downward only evh style.

    Moro Eugo. Hyvä video. Mulla on BC Rich yli 30v. Niitä tuli MS Audiotroniin 5 kappaletta,ostin yhden. Onko tuttu? Sillä on vedetty kaikki nämä vuodet ja toimii ja pitää vireen. Kielinä perus D Addario 9 setti. No,jumbotkin asennettiin. Hyvä työkalu tuli. Alkuperäiset mikit toimii. Ei mitään x2n turboja. Hyvä tuo Polythone viritin mulla kanssa. Kiitos näistä videoista,kielten vaihto kantapään kautta vuosikymmeniä samalla tyylillä.

    Best video ever!!! 🤘🤘🤘 Edit for a question: I have a guitar that goes sharp when I put the locking nut back. Is that normal and I just have to take it into the equation or am I doing something wrong?

    • @DrZAmplification
      @DrZAmplification 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's normal. The downward pressure of the locking nut will push things sharp. You can either use the fine tuners, or tune the guitar slightly flat before putting the nut on.

    They are certainly tough sometimes but once done right they really can stay in tune well, and you can still bend where as with evertune it's kind of weird to bend.

    Why don't you just wire the strings with the ball nut on headstock? Like reverse. Saves all the jazz tightening the string.

    • @Wyldwulf
      @Wyldwulf 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I have done this, but personally don't like all that bulk up there due to the ball winds. One other thing...if you wind up on the peg some, you have something to back off to spare a string if it slips or breaks at the saddle. If you have given zero room for backing some length off the peghead, that string is gone, pure and simple. You can still wind some with the ball up there, but it kind of defeats the purpose of reversal.

    • @EugeValovirta230V
      @EugeValovirta230V  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not the same. The way I do it works the best for me. Personal preferences obviously. And those ball ends looks stupid IMO. Because look is important too 😎. And too much strings don’t hold the tuning as well. The same if too less strings 👌. At least with me 😎.

  • @mopmap7473
    @mopmap7473 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Probably even more important than the actual setup: It's a well made guitar with an original Floyd. No matter the setup, if the guitar and bridge are crap you will not make the thing stay in tune.

    For greater beauty, I do this. To ballend (ball tip; guitar string head) strings were tightened close to the guitar pegs. I don't cut Ballend strings. I cut the other side of the guitar string. Pardon my English, I'm from Russia) P.S. I haven't seen this before, I hope this helps someone.
