    Wish we had these You Tube channels and instructors 30 years ago, would have saved a ton of time and learning curve. It is a great time to be a guitar player, but then again, it's always been a great time to be a guitar player.

      In the 90’s stuff like this was like folklore. For example I remember hearing that someones’s brother have heard from someone else that Cobain used DS-1 maxed out to get his sound. So I bought one and it didn’t sound like Nirvana at all. Then several months later some other guy explained the correct settings to me. Good times.

    100% correct! This is how I've gotten my tone and dynamics out of the amps since 1988 ... be it Marshall, Peavey, Randall or Soldano - the SD1 always works!

      Cool! I don’t use reverb and hardly ever delay. I like in your face sound. When I’m mixing I add if I feel so and the mix/song calls for one. Pretty much delay for leads to create ambience; mostly my old Lexicon PCM70 & TC Electronic D-TWO. But live like I said I’m bone dry up there on stage.

    Hey Euge I got a question. I have my fortin zuul noisegate in my loop on my 50 watt evh 6l6 head but I use that key input through the spliff buffer pedal too. My question is , do you think it would sound better if I put it in the chain after the overdrive and just get rid of the spliff pedal? I'm gonna try it when I get home but was wondering what you thought? I seen a video about the zuul and spliff so I've just been using it in the loop since I got it but if I can get more chug and clarity in the chain I'd rather do that.

      Thanks! In the mix obviously whatever feels & sounds the best but when I’m just playing like on this one there’s Oeksound’s Soothe just to tame (harsh) upper mids a bit.
      It’s all about getting it right from the get go and every part of the signal chain matters.

      @EugeValovirta230V I think the idea of getting it right from the get go is the best idea. You save yourself a ton of time not having to EQ everything after.
      Are you adding bass afterwards or do you play bass to the track?

    • @EugeValovirta230V
      @EugeValovirta230V  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Indeed. I play bass too and have played it on many albums I’ve done over the years as a solo artist and in the bands I’ve played / play. Cyhra’s latest two albums for example.
      I have two LTDs and they are great:

    Are you use 4 Ohm config or 16 Ohm config? If you use 16 ohm cab config have you try 2 speaker type a in series parallel with 2 speakers of type b ....
    or 2 speakers .....off type a and b in series parallel with 2 speakers of type b and a in series ( left hi typ a right low type a and the other slots filled with b type speakers?
    if you have a 16 ohm config and use 3 speaker of type a und 1 of type b the interact some kind of strange. Maybe you like the sound but have you try my options?

When i just play a Solo, i cant stand the fizzy/fuzzy sound comming from it :O! Do you have any idea :) ? Thanks

    Mid boost overdrive in the loop might actually be useful for solos lmao, especially if you turn up the gain as well, and use a lower gain/clean channel on your amp, and already have another OD or a distortion in front of the amp. For a single channel amp like the old 2203 circuit, that basically makes it a non-starter, however. For normal rhythm playing, however... woof. Nasally shit, no balls, no hair, just yuck.

    I havent syarted the video yet, but Euge....PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell people not to use an overdrive over a dead-clean amp. That is the WORST sound ever and it's always the blues and country guys doing that. You can hear the clean sound through the gain the pedal adds and it's an awful sound.

      @@MrJingles021 no offense but you might need your ears checked if you don’t know what I’m talking about. But also, I’m talking about an overdrive, not a distortion-they’re two completely different types of pedals

    • @EugeValovirta230V
      @EugeValovirta230V  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      I’ve done it many times with great results. Sometimes what might sound shitty alone can be just what was needed in the mix. So no, I’m not going to tell that but just use ears. It’s all about personal preferences and it’s impossible to argue with those.

    • @MrJingles021
      @MrJingles021 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @user-jq4fz6co8b maybe you're using bad overdrives? The Revv G2 is an overdrive and it sounds great. I've used all varieties of overdrives through a Fender style amp and they sound great. Have you seen any videos with Andy Timmons playing? He uses overdrives into a clean amp and it sounds great. Same with Andy Wood, and there's even a video with Paul Gilbert showing his pedalboard through a clean amp....it works fine.
