I bought mine in 2022. 79,000 miles on the clock. 64 plate. Cost £5000 and its been perfect. His that a ratchet or a hammer. No wonder the cars knakked.
I noticed on my 2012 Kia PICANTO car, acceleration cuts and vibrations when I drive on 3 or 4! after several checks with a mechanic, he discovered that the fault comes from the PCV valve!!! the spring was stuck!! it is a small plastic part integrated into the exhaust gas recycling circuit
Well that's probably why your timing chain is knackering up.... Kia spec 5w20 on API SM certification. What you put in was 5w30 using API SL/CF certification.
My picanto sounds quite rough on idle i have never not known it to be anything else for the 4 years I've had it well except when I press the a/c button then it really rumbles in to life and shakes lol
Those Halfords 3/8 ratchets are well known for breaking, lifetime guarantee, so they will replace them for free if you take it in store. Sometimes get them say guarantee doesn't cover moving parts but just try another store. Disappointing on the engine, first sound clip thought it sounded bad.
I disagree. There is no shaking these engines are quite well balanced. They also shouldn’t rattle, the older ones did like the old Corsas they were very loud, this Picanto engines are meant to be quiet, and they are, usually.
Kia .. My sons got 3 .. never had a problem with any .. Now I've got a 20 year old Nissan Micra K11 .. 78K .. never gave me a problem either .. but wanted to get a new Kia .. now I don't know //
Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge 🙏🏽 I'm at my first KIA PICANTO. I want to know how to adjust the clutch pedal when you sometimes have difficulty moving the gear. And also if I want to test the air conditioning engine. 😅I know I ask a lot...but if you have a link 😏
The take the plugs out it’s just a normal deep socket, can’t remember the size it’s either 13 or 19mm. (Probably 19) and an extension bar and ratchet. Mine are from Halfords. The car is 2013.
@@moonar5820 No i wouldn't touch those crap heaps. The Kia's for the Japanese market are built in Japan thought. The Mazda 2 is a very good car, heard great things about it.

Bought mine at 45,000 didn’t service it for 1 and half years and it’s now at 75,000 never had any problems good runner and it’s been ragged about
Thanks for the video. Look like you have halfords advanced tool kit they are guaranteed for life. You should be able to replace them for free.
Mine sounds the same, was wondering if it had an issue but I’ve been told so many times it’s ok 😅
Use a funnel instead of pouring some of it over that spectacular clean engine.
It’s a lemon 🍋 Rusty
A big tasty one

That’s what the manual specs 🤷🏻♂️
@@RSPYT I got mine from the website... well if Kia don't know, how are we meant to!?
Exactly lol 5w30 is fine I’m sure

I’ve been meaning to take it back, one of those things on the list lmao
The rattle is normal as 3 cylinder engines are usually loud and out of balance, hence the plenty of shaking.

@@RSPYT I agree
Most of the ones I’ve come across don’t sounds anything like my one, so those ones that are quiet must be broken then? And my one isn’t?
Hi there did u fixed rattle noise?have the same in mine checked with OBD scan tool timing is at perfect 0 degres should I be worried?
And your a lemon 🍋 for getting it
I’m the biggest lemon of them all Dany haha 😂😂
Good !
I clicked on video... Went and made a coffee came back and thought I was watching wheeler dealers... You certainly know you way around a engine👍
Haha thanks :) many years of playing with them lol
Good work, but putting new spark plugs back Where is oily is bad , fix ur top gasket
- Spend Your Time And Not Your Money - th-cam.com/users/CarGuruDIY
Hmmm. Did you check the spark plug gap settings off camera.. bet you did..
Nah didn’t bother lol
Good job bro..can you tell me what type of the sparks and the oil filter?
Good job my friend,i have one question...could you show the filler plug in transmission pls.
I can’t do that right now but I will do in the next service, but by then you’ll be gone I suppose lol.

This one is 10 years old, I’m not 100% sure but I believe they changed the engines in the new ones so this problem doesn’t happen.
Why did he buy 3 so

Tell me about it :D
Where did you get the tool from to take the spark plugs out ? And what year is the car ? Thanks

The car is 2013.
Theres more dust on the engine then the air filter he took out.
That's what happens when you work in a quarry Lol.
I also hear same rattles in my engine, car is 21k kms friven only,
What is the issue? Why it does that?
- Spend Your Time And Not Your Money - th-cam.com/users/CarGuruDIY
Timing chain or the crankshaft.
Oil leak on the gasket. TIME TO GIVE UP AND GET RID.
Timing chain malfunction.
Turned out to be a rat in it.
Whats wrong wi kids they talking more sense then you do. At least the planes running above.
Let this be a lesson to all of you, stay away from Kia and Hyundai. Absolute rubbish.
Did someone rip you off with a bad one?
