I remember recieving Mario Party 6 for Christmas back in 2004. Ever since, I haven't enjoyed a Mario Party installment that much. When I saw the trailer for this game I knew it was gonna be the "party" I was looking for. It's a shame that there are no unlockable boards or characters but maybe we can get them by one or two DLC with some minigames. I'm really excited to play this game and I can see myself playing it for a long time.
Mario Party 6 is the peak Mario Party.

The lack of unlockables is, in my opinion, why Nintendo's recent multi-player titles just don't land after a few months.
I really, REALLY hope they will update the game with more boards, mini games and characters
I'd be so up for this game to get DLC. Boards and mini games from Mario Party 6-7. Characters from later games. It would be perfect.

I had this same hope for Super Mario Party. Honestly, this would have been a great addition as DLC for that game. So more likely, we'll just get another separate Mario Party experience in another few years.

I grew up playing Mario Party 1 with my little brother, then later we fell in love with the other 2 N64 MP games. The N64 and Mario Party series is my favorite of all time, I AM BEYOND STOKED TO SEE THAT THEY KNOCKED THIS LOVE LETTER OUT OF THE PARK

This is honestly the best and most in depth review that I’ve seen for this game. Great job and I’m so happy the game turned out fantastic, can’t wait to get my hands on it.

im so glad this game is scoring well and the potential for dlc is amazing! imagine adding mario party 6 levels wit its gimmicks or mario party 4 with the mini and mega mushrooms! so many possibilities!

I’ve played Mario Party 1, 2, and 3, and I am hella happy that everyone is loving the game. My last ever Mario Party was Mario Party 9. Can’t wait to come back!

Glad to see this game turned out to be a home run! Maybe just add in a few more boards/characters as DLC, and I could see this being considered the definitive Mario Party game!
This game looks like a hopeful step back to the original charm of the good era of the Series! Might be the first newer Mario Party I pick up!
Right!! I haven’t been this excited for a new Mario Party In so long. Even though technically it’s not new and just relying on the classics it just shows you how demanding the classic Mario Party formula is being asked for!! And Nintendo is going to be applauded for this! The last Mario Party I had fun with was 7/Ds
What a dream come true. It’s very Beautiful how seeing my childhood come back better than ever really hit me in the nostalgia, my heart is pumped In hype!
I also think this is great for the younger audience and others that are new or only experienced with Mario Party 9, 10, & Super are about to realize&understand what truly makes Mario Party so incredibly special!! For first timers, They are sure in for a SUPER FUN BLAST!

It would be cool having dlc of other Nintendo franchise, like in Mario Kart 8. Imagine a board base on Moray Towers from Splatoon or Hyrule castle from Zelda, and play as an inkling or link, it would be very cool.
I would love to play as Inkling!!!
Let’s get some other franchises too! Samus, Spring Man, Officer Howard, Kirby, Star Fox-maybe Mario Party wil do that someday!

Bruh, once that floodgate is opened, there will be no closing it. It's too late for Mario Kart! As fun as it would be to have Princess Zelda party with the Mario princesses on Peach's Birthday Cake, once a Mario Party releases with more of an extended Nintendo cast, that will come to be expected for all titles going forward, and I'd personally rather the games stick to being first and foremost about the boards and minigames.

I'm not sure of there will be DLC. Probably but I'm not sure.
I will definitely pick it up but I do think they should have free DLC boards, get to 8-9 boards. Maybe a couple more mini games to help mix it up (though with so many I wouldn’t care if they didn’t do it) and maybe another mode or two. That would definitely cap it off and make it the best Mario Party games ever

Glad I watched this video. I literally did not know there was a new game. Everytime I heard of the title "Mario Party Superstars" I confused it with "Super Mario Party" and thought there were just new DLCs coming out. Reminds me of that hiccup oh calling the Wii's succesor "Wii U"...
Aside of this little problem I sadly encountered, I am extremely excited to play the game. The N64 games were my favorites out of all Mario Party games (eventho I also loved MP4 and 5, but nothing beats the first three titles).
They raised the price of stars and the golden warp pipe, so economy wise that is the most important thing to me. THe stars were only 10 coins each in Super Mario Party, and 15 coins for a Golden Warp Pipe. They made these each 20 and 25 coins respectively.
The other items are still relatively cheap, like buying extra dice blocks, but I can live with that. More opportunities to mess people up and everything. Or make a dash for it.
Also in the end, unless you are specifically playing with classic bonus star settings, having the most coins means less. Also there is still room for major coin upsets with the Chance spaces. Either way a huge improvement.
Now all I want to know is if there is planned DLC ... or extra boards coming regardless.

As good as all of theses things sound, I really hope to see more boards, there were 20 boards to chose from and the game only has 5. The number of boards should be doubled, to really celebrate the N64 era of Mario Party. Marios Rainbow Castle, Eternal Star, Western Land, Pirate Land, Deep Blooper Sea are some boards that immediately come to my mind when I think of great baords I still miss.
NDCube has quite the track record with Mario Party.
After doing two games with a car system that was dunked on by many, they then made one on the Switch that was the baby steps to this proper return to Mario Party fun. Mad respect there.
To this day, Super Mario Party is my favorite game on the Switch. While it's most likely going to be pushed to the side now, I really do find it cute that Bowser finally joins the fun with a pack of playable minions to boot. I also don't hate the motion controls, and find the minigames to be charming.
This game, however, looks like it will be the go-to Mario Party for fans of the series. Between snappier speed, remastered boards and minigames, fun stickers, and the return of the chaotic Chance Time, it's clear that Mario Party Superstars was made with love and care.
I can't get this game right now, but it looks like fun. Birdo is the character that I plan on maining, as I haven't done so with her before.

This is exactly what mario party fans have been waiting for. My first MP since Mario Party 5. I've only played this for 30 mins before bed. Survival mini games online. I had an absolute blast. I cannot wait to finish work tomorrow.
Game is looking good. Hopefully they add more content to the shop like characters and/or boards. It's what it feels missing IMO.

There wont be any DLC, sadly.
The previous title needed it even more than this, and it never got any new content, neither Minigames, characters (although there they actually did a good job from the start) nor boards (which it desperatly needed).

I'm playing on Peach's Birthday Cake when I record my gameplay of it this weekend.
I just found out about this after busting out my n64 to play MP2 and 3 with friends and now I'm getting a switch just for this!
This looks to be Mario Party's Sonic Mania/Banana Mania Moment. I need this NOW.
They could bring back battle mode from MP3.
So many great mini games are missing though . My favorite from MP1 I think was the 4 player co op ghost buster mini game where you fought Boos

I am wondering if I can take 2 local players (me and my wife) online and make a room where we could get 2 randoms to join. We loved super mario party but playing against the CPU really took some of the sparkle out of the game. Especially when we got matched with the CPU player in 2v2 minigames.

So excited for this. Been playing since MP1. Of course I'd like more boards and more games but what's on offer here looks fantastic. Plus, I can't remember Nintendo ever releasing DLC for a Mario Party game?
I'm kind of thinking they'll save some stuff and make a Mario Party Superstars 2 as a whole new game at some point. And that would be fine with me.
As a counter-point, Nintendo doesn't have much history with DLC with a lot of their games, but have embraced it with some other titles on the Switch. If they are to get into adding DLC to the Mario Party series, it wouldn't be out of left field if they were to take it up now.
So hyped chip shot challenge made the cut! I’ve always loved that game.
I'm kind of questioning about tug o War, cast away you can get away with because it just a simple coin minigame, and there no winner or loser. Playing with bots on Tug o War would be a nightmare especially with hard or Master difficulty bots / Cpu.
I'm still hoping that they'll have DLC for Mario Party Superstars. Like personally I would like have Mario Rainbow Castle back. Just the visuals on that board would amazing especially with the clouds and the top of the castle. Mystery Land would be interesting to be brought back because you can have 3 items now to whereas you were only limited to 1 item, it makes the skeleton key more viable to hold now especially for the Mario Party 2 boards. Really don't know about the boards from MP3 though.
I'm glad they brought the original soundtracks back alongside the Modern version but I can't help on how awesome to hear a modern soundtrack version of Eternal Star, Bowser Magma Mountain, Western land, Deep blooper sea, Chilly waters.
I’m loving it so far. I do think coins are a little to plentiful and I was surprised to see no bowser boards but I hope DLC will be a thing.
Chance time is back AND good online. I’m so happy. I can’t believe they did it right

The online play was really the only thing I had major interest and concern in, but I'm happy it's done very well. Can't wait to try this with other friends if they get it. Also it shows Nintendo CAN actually do very good online and this I feel is a very good sign for the future.
I hope this sells well enough they make DLC of some sort. This kind of game has so many options for DLC too! Boards, Characters, Minigames...here's to hoping!

hey! Cast aways was one of my favorite games in Mario party 1 hahaha Destroyed my controller and my hand, but it was a blast.
So excited for the tradition of Luigi’s talent of doing nothing come to use again.
I'd say anyone who cares more about winning at Mario Party than having intact palms deserves what they get.
Cab you play 2v2 around the board so that you share stars like SMP?
There have been a lot of connection issues though. Lag and frame rate spikes which are not tolerable when playing mini games that require pretty on point reaction times. The one where you have to count the goombas for example, I missed by a lot because a lag spike prevented me from seeing a group of them
What happens if a player disconnects when playing a board online? Do the remaining players complete the game or the whole thing cancels?
Looks like the game continues and they get replaced by a cpu and the person has the option to come back if they want

It's a remake but I hope it's a Crash 4 situation where its just the developers learning what makes the originals good
There’s still some essence of NDcube nonsense sprinkled in this game though. But overall it’s MUCH better than anything they’ve made before

For me and my friends the only major complaint we have is the lack of an option to do 50 turns. That's what we did back then, always.
50 turns is way too much.
I really hope they don't just leave this as a one-off game and actually support the game releasing new content for it like new boards or new characters new mini games just do something to keep the game alive

This one looks better than the last entry by leaps and bounds, save for unlockable characters and boards. Although some MP 7 boards would've been nice; maybe as DLC.
Will be waiting for confirmation of more boards before I buy, its fantastic they went back to formula, its just five boards seems a little scant.
With MK Deluxe getting DLC of stages, hopefully SuperStars gets DLC too
my only real complaint with superstars are some of the unique characters from the n64 era are just... gone. or replaced with much more generic mario characters.
i mean tumble, the millenium star, the mushroom genies, and koopa kids are nowhere to be found. and they were kinda important to the n64 era.
Already got the game and its really a blast to the past. The ai is actually smart in this game on hard difficulty which suprised me.
I like how they went to the mario party 1 roots definitely getting this game seems to be better than super Mario party

From the get-go this game is a solid 9/10! I would add a few boards, especially considering we modern technology and storage, there can be quite a bit of content. I mean the original had 8 boards, for crying out loud 😂 I would probably add the following: Mario’s Rainbow Castle, Spiny Desert, and Chilly Waters.
As for the cast, I think several inclusion can be made but notably: Pauline (she’s becoming a staple now and should be in a mario party) and Diddy Kong (to serve as a counterpart to DK). Other characters can be added as well, but I think the two I mentioned before should priority, especially Pauline. It’s obviously that characters like Toad, Todette, Shy Guy, Koopa, Boo & Kamek won’t be playable but I do like the way they serve as the hosts of the game. Aside from that, the game is flawless 🥰🥰

Castaways was always one of my favorite mini games. Had so much fun playing that growing up with my family. Actually took skill. The reeling in sucked, but the rest was a lot of fun. Do you go for the easy 5 bag, or wait and get the chest but take longer, and have the risk of missing it entirely. It’s fun, don’t knock my castaways 😂
