I've got the solo spring seat with forward controls, z bars, and short shots. I love it! Going look into options for a removable 2 up seat, maybe with sissy bar. I like these videos a lot because they make you feel confident in doing your own modifications! Can't wait for more!
i know you guys choose the sportster partly due to the customization but i would love to see a series like this but with the indian scout as it is also a very customizable bike
I really enjoy the high quality videos Revzilla puts out. Top notch instruction, review and direction. I appreciate all the hard work you guys put into your channel/product.
For the more larger sized rider (for that particular bike), I would place a sissy bar with a backrest, still places a cool factor and safety for that lovely lady who enjoys going for rip down the road also.
I purchased the Mustang Solo Day Tripper from you guys last week for my 2016 Iron and I really like it. It looks better than the stock seat and the stock seat gave me terrible pain in my tailbone after about 20 minutes in the saddle. You did not mention it, but Mustang has a matching pillon, giving the option of style and passenger carrying ability. Great video as always Lemmy!
I know this is way later than your original post but I would really like to know what your opinions are about the mustang tripper solo, and also if you ended up getting the passenger pillion as well. I am really looking at getting one but there are no reviews on how comfortable it really is. Also how long can you ride on it before it starts to become uncomfortable.
I'm watching these videos and thinking "I know this area!" I did a little research and sure enough... you guys are in Philly! Just down the street from the old navy yard and right next to TASTYKAKE! Only and hour away from me! Road trip! I didn't realize you had a big walk in store, I thought it was just online sales thru a warehouse. See you soon!
Great review, Ive also been trying to find a seat for my sportster, one i can ride all day in, ive tried quite a few, lepera silhouette which looks great but was too narrow to be comfortable, saddlemen dominator which i couldnt stand as the internal mount for the back brace kept smashing my tailbone, currently im running a mustang tripper, best so far but id love to hear of something better
I look forward to these videos but on this one you blew right through the peg mount-how-to :( Great video about seats. Megan deserves a raise, bonus or combat pay of some sort for riding back there. :)
How's the high speeds as a bigger guy on an 883? I know it won't affect top speed but you and a rider definitely drags. I've felt it as a big guy on my iron, I noticed the stage 1 definitely puts some more umph into the take off.
Those 2-up seats are fine if your pillion rider is around 100 lbs. much bigger and that's just not gonna work. Of course, if that's the case then the 883 ain't the bike you need to be riding anyway. :)
Excellent videos...Lemmy rules (with or without Motorhead hehe) Looking forward for the next episode (probably handlebars and forward controls) although i would prefer the 48 as the "mod subject" :) When the series end (although customizing never does) will there be a sum of the cost?
So I purchased the mustang solo tripper for my 2016 Iron 883 thanks to the recommendation from this video. I love but I have one issue... the seat mount hole doesn’t exactly line up on the bolt to screw it down. The bracket is a bit too long. I have tried like hell to get it to line up but it won’t. Any suggestions?
You should be able to adjust the length of the mounting bracket on the underside of the seat by loosening, adjusting the tab, and retightening the two bolts that hold the mounting tab to the seat. -DrewZilla
Thx for all your guys' vids. What boots are you rocking' for this episode? Tx Plus, I want the daddy long legs but it don't fit my '09 Iron 883. Any suggestions, please? Tx Love all your vids guys!
I got a 2017 iron last weekend. Im looking for the mounting hardware for the passenger pegs, is that going to be from harley only? Or do you guys sell it?
We definitely carry the passenger peg mounts as well as a number of passenger pegs. Take a look at the link below. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/drag-specialties-passenger-peg-mounts-kit-for-harley-sportster-2014-2016
Hi, I'm a not tall, not heavy kind of person. I'm looking for a sit that brings me closer to my mini ape handlebar, and lower to the ground so I can better (wo)manhandle my Sportster 883 when stopped. Can you recommend one? Thank you in advance, Aurora (Spain, Europe)
It depends on the year and specific model you have, as gas tank size affects compatible seats. Feel free to send an email to cs@revzilla.com or give us a call at 877-792-9455, so we can recommend the best options for your specific bike. -DrewZilla
Great video! I've recently moved to a new Forty Eight and am looking for a couple more inches of leg room. being 5' 11", sporty probably wasn't the best choice but I am more comfy on a smaller bike having been brought up on dirt bikes my whole life. what can you recommend that would give me a couple more inches without losing the vintage solo seat look.
harley used to make a "further forward" control kit for the Sportsters, or just add a moustache bar it's an engine guard with foot rests set up on the top side.
+Doctorr_Whomm thanks Doc, I belive I had one of those further forward set ups on my iron, purchased from an aftermarket supplier, and I wasn't aware at the time. it was quite comfy. I'll have to look into that again.
I'll mirror those recommendations...but Lemmy also recommends a Dyna haha. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/kuryakyn-mustache-bar-adjustable-highway-peg-mount-for-harley-sportster-2004-2016 *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/accutronix-6-forward-control-extension-kit-for-harley-sportster-2014-2015
Im a tall guy and owner of an iron: Is this Le Pera Daytona Sport Daddy Long Legs the best for a tall rider, or is there any other seats that will provide even more space for the long legs? Thanks alot!
Hey Lemmy... neither the Mustang or La Pera saddles are available for my 2002 Sportster Hugger on the Revzilla sight. Have any other seat suggestions that are similar to those but will work on my bike? Thx!

Based on Lemmy and Meghan's review of the seats; none of them seem to be too good at anything in particular. Maybe I'm not understanding how they worded their reviews.
We probably won't do a video review of the Roadster, though it is possible. Plus, we already did a written review of it. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/common-tread/harley-davidson-roadster-first-ride-motorcycle-review
I recommend the Le Pera Daytona Sport Daddy Long Legs Seat. Yes, you can ride an Iron with your height, but you should go sit on one to see for yourself. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/le-pera-daytona-sport-daddy-long-legs-seat-for-harley-sportster-with-33-gallon-tank-2004-2017
Hey I think you'll be perfectly fine on an iron. But you are definitely going to want to get forward controls on it. I am 5 7 and I have forward controls on my Harley Sportster 1200 custom and I still wish I had more room to stretch my legs out. So I can only imagine being 6ft and having mid controls probably not the most comfortable thing.
Here are a few good options. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/mustang-wide-solo-seat-for-harley-sportster-1996-2003 *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/mustang-daytripper-seat-for-harley-sportster-1996-2003 *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/roland-sands-cafe-seat-for-harley-sportster-1982-2003

Lemmy, regarding size. How tall are you and what's roughly your weight? I'm a big dude myself and it's good to not see just the 150lbs skinny kids on the bikes, but I hope to get some idea to see how it would match for me. Also, what are your thoughts on the Scorpion Covert flanel jacket? True to size? Should I size up if I get all the armor? Thanks!!
Lemmy is six feet tall and just a bit north of 250 lbs. As for the Covert Riding Shirt, it does fit true to size, and you shouldn't need to size up for the armor. -DrewZilla
i need a 2up seat that wont change my sitting position from the OEM seat too much . I have short arms so im kind of worried about it. any suggestions ?
Unless otherwise specified, most of the Sportster seats we carry keep you in a similar position to stock. Hopefully one of those linked below appeals to you. -DrewZilla *rvz.la/2oYmnuk
Does anybody know if there is a single rider seat with a backrest for a Sportster? I'm not an owner but I'm looking at buying one for longer rides and I want a backrest. I would also like to make it a mild bobber if you guys have any recommendations for that. Thanks!
Yes, Mustang makes solo seats with backrests for the Sportsters with both 3.3 and 4.5 gallon tanks. Hey guys.. Need the best seat for 48 2016. I ride long but need a pillion too. I have a back rest. What do you recommend? I saw danny gray tour and loved it.. 2 up air
You'll probably see my recommendation on your other comment. I'm glad you also like the Danny Gray, and the Air version will let you ride all day. -DrewZilla
RevZilla thanks you very much. But i have heard it is very big and spoils the look of the 48. Is it true? Can you share any pictures or videos on the 48
We don't have pictures of it on a 48. As for the size, yes it's big, which is why it's comfortable, but whether it spoils the look of the bike is subjective. -DrewZilla
Of those featured, the Saddlemen Dominator can accept a driver backrest (available separately), but my favorite is the Mustang Solo Seat with Driver Backrest. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/saddlemen-dominator-driver-backrest-for-harley *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/saddlemen-dominator-solo-seat-for-harley-sportster-2004-2015 *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/mustang-solo-seat-with-driver-backrest-for-harley-sportster-with-33-gallon-tank-2004-2015
Because the Iron 883 only has two lights, the two rear lights already function as running, brake, and turn signals. This is stock for the Iron 883. For bikes with two turn signals and a separate brake light, we offer the following modules. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/badlands-illuminator-runbraketurn-signal-module-for-harley *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/badlands-illuminator-runbraketurn-signal-module-for-victory *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/badlands-metric-illuminator-runbraketurn-signal-module
Appreciate your response However, My question is more on 0:02 in your video. Here the front Turn signals stay solid. I have seen the same feature in the Harley Iron 883 advertisements. So How can I make these Turn lights stay on?
we probably have many harley/ cruiser riders here, does anyone know any bike similar to the v-rod/ night rod but with sharper corners and edges like some night rod customs?
You guys should be on TV. This should all be on TV
This is the new TV. -DrewZilla
RedMoWarrior ..lll.
RevZilla would love to know if you find the sportster was comfortable to ride as I’m a big bloke and do like the sportster
I've got the solo spring seat with forward controls, z bars, and short shots. I love it! Going look into options for a removable 2 up seat, maybe with sissy bar. I like these videos a lot because they make you feel confident in doing your own modifications! Can't wait for more!
That Roland Sands saddle looked the best on the bike... the two tone matched the rear shocks nicely.
i know you guys choose the sportster partly due to the customization but i would love to see a series like this but with the indian scout as it is also a very customizable bike
that would be awesome
I really enjoy the high quality videos Revzilla puts out. Top notch instruction, review and direction. I appreciate all the hard work you guys put into your channel/product.
Lemmy for president!
Megan for Vice. Yeah, just for Vice. 😈😋👀
Sometimes I watch your stuff for entertainment. well made content. I buy your stuff too 🙂
I would love that u guys did a custom build like this. On a new bike every other 2 months
Megan was feelin' up Lemmy. haha
That Girl's Gonna fall off..
Idk why this comment was so funny but I actually laughed out loud when I saw this. Well done friend.
IF LEMMY CAN RIDE WITH A BABE ON AN IRON, I CAN TOO!!!
Evan Hrbacek it's much better than stock. I have no gotten the passenger pillon.
Thanks, it's good to know you still like it.

the production quality on these vids is very nice. seeing this series so makes me want a motorcycle so I can become broke customizing my bike :)
Great review, Ive also been trying to find a seat for my sportster, one i can ride all day in, ive tried quite a few, lepera silhouette which looks great but was too narrow to be comfortable, saddlemen dominator which i couldnt stand as the internal mount for the back brace kept smashing my tailbone, currently im running a mustang tripper, best so far but id love to hear of something better
lost it when Lemmy said he was getting dominated by the seat
I look forward to these videos but on this one you blew right through the peg mount-how-to :( Great video about seats. Megan deserves a raise, bonus or combat pay of some sort for riding back there. :)
He hit the los santos mod shop every 30seconds
Lemmy is baked!! Haha
How's the high speeds as a bigger guy on an 883? I know it won't affect top speed but you and a rider definitely drags. I've felt it as a big guy on my iron, I noticed the stage 1 definitely puts some more umph into the take off.
Have you changed seat and shocks?
If so, what are you riding and r they comfortable.
I think the politically correct term for 2 up seat is the b*%$@ pad
"Its really beating me up in the taint aria" 😂
can't wait for the next one :D i wanna see what you guys have in store for the final touches
Jonny Moto 3$
Those 2-up seats are fine if your pillion rider is around 100 lbs. much bigger and that's just not gonna work. Of course, if that's the case then the 883 ain't the bike you need to be riding anyway. :)
I'm pissed. Back when I bought my 1200 Custom Sporty a few bikes ago, mine did not come with a Megan. I'm writing HD damn it! 👅💀
Man, Lemmy! I love all your videos. Keep it up!!!
Excellent videos...Lemmy rules (with or without Motorhead hehe)
Looking forward for the next episode (probably handlebars and forward controls) although i would prefer the 48 as the "mod subject" :)
When the series end (although customizing never does) will there be a sum of the cost?
Yes, there will be a sum total. Stay tuned! -DrewZilla
thanks for making these videos!! seriously considering getting one!!
How about theSADDLEMAN ELIMINATOR seat/fender kit !
You should be able to adjust the length of the mounting bracket on the underside of the seat by loosening, adjusting the tab, and retightening the two bolts that hold the mounting tab to the seat. -DrewZilla

Lemmy you rock and are there any seats for passengers that you can just add to the stock seat for the iron 883
What’s a good seats that’ll keep me put on the highway ?
Which would be best for 2-4 hr rides? I plan on changing my rear suspension too. THinking if i get the right suspension and seat i should be good.

-DrewZilla

See the Fitment tab on the product pages if you're not sure which tank you have. -DrewZilla

Does anyone know if there are seats out there that have storage/extra space underneath them. My problem is after I installed LED glow lights on my bike, the wiring barley fit under the seat. Now I just bought an alarm system but there's no space for it or it's wiring. PLEASE HELP!!!
We do not carry any seats that specifically have extra space underneath. I apologize for the inconvenience. -DrewZilla
RevZilla any ideas on what I can do???
I'd recommend rethinking your wiring, as that's easier than trying to get a custom seat pan/seat. -DrewZilla
Great review thanks
getting that exhaust side on for the footpegs is a bitch with stock pipes. I bet it was way easier with the exhaust setup on that iron.
would like to have seen the mustang fastback, also you guys going to throw forwards on here? What about a sissy? When is the next video?
All in due time. Patience is a virtue haha! Seriously though, the next video should come out in the next few weeks. -DrewZilla
What seat is on the bike at the beginning of the episode?
That is the stock seat on the bike, as it came from Harley.
-Zack
would one of these seats fit on a 2007 1200 custom sporty?
Based on what was shown in this video, the following seats will fit your XL1200C. -Luke

It's expensive...
dying to know why you flipped the cover can't find any info online about it!
and the fact that you mentioned it made me even more curious
Keep looking. -DrewZilla

Flipping the covers shows that you disagree with the company producing the product.
-DrewZilla
So nice of you... I have submitted my purchase for the shipping estimates. I am from India. Cheers
What mounts did you use here? I don't see them in the info and I would like to get the same set for my Iron.
Here ya go! -DrewZilla

Do any of the seats offer a back rest?
Of those featured, the Saddlemen Dominator can accept a driver backrest (available separately), but my favorite is the Mustang Solo Seat with Driver Backrest. -DrewZilla

How do you make the turn lights stay on Solid?
Because the Iron 883 only has two lights, the two rear lights already function as running, brake, and turn signals. This is stock for the Iron 883. For bikes with two turn signals and a separate brake light, we offer the following modules. -DrewZilla

Appreciate your response However, My question is more on 0:02 in your video. Here the front Turn signals stay solid. I have seen the same feature in the Harley Iron 883 advertisements. So How can I make these Turn lights stay on?
how tall are you Lemmy?
its definetly not a lemmy size bike, and with megan it looks even worse :D what comes next? handle bars?
You'll just have to wait and see! -DrewZilla
Lem Lem, does revzilla do seat demos for consumers? My local Harley dealer does but they only have like 2 seats to choose from
At this time, we do not do seat demos, though we may consider it in the future. -DrewZilla
we probably have many harley/ cruiser riders here, does anyone know any bike similar to the v-rod/ night rod but with sharper corners and edges like some night rod customs?
Suzuki Boulevard C107, Yamaha VMAX and I think Kawasaki makes a similar bike. Cheers!
I'd say the Yamaha VMAX and Ducati XDiavel. Suzuki's power cruiser is the M109R, but it's still a bit curvy. -DrewZilla
Thanks for the correction, C109R is what i meant to say, as i was going off the top of my head on that one. Cheers!
M109R
thanks
Lemmy im sorry im new but im scared for that lady falling off
It’s 200 miles to break in a saddlemen..shoulda tried a profiler…
Hi can anybody tell me what gloves he is wearing ?

Do you think one should go out and change the stock seat?
If you find the stock seat uncomfortable or you just want a different look, then yes, one should consider changing the seat. -DrewZilla
Thx!
You look and sound like Ice Cube
what helmet is lemmy wearin?

Looks like it. Thanks man
Yep, it is indeed the Biltwell Gringo S. -DrewZilla

Lighting man....you need more lighting on the bike. Can't see sh*t heheh
how tall are you?
Lemmy is right around 6 feet tall. -DrewZilla
how tall is lemmy
Lemmy is six feet tall. -DrewZilla
RevZilla thanks mate
But it I think not safety for pessengger
sportsters are not meant for carrying your gf just get a nice bobber seat from la rosa it looks way nicer
That's a swap out, not a modification.
Modification implies some fabrication
