Im putting my vote in to continue this series. Or start a new bike. These are great! Big bagger mod series? Maybe when the new goldwing comes out, a mod series on it? Grom mod series? More please MOARR
Hey RevZilla. Why not consider a (bolt together) series. For the people that like to buy their own frame and like to build their bike. Ordering all different parts so it’s unique, I’ve found a lot of my friends want to do that but when we all look on TH-cam theirs not a lot of content their that’s easy to understand. I feel you guys could do something like that and do it right.
Flipping the logo upside down was something a lot of guys used to do during the amf days. Flipping the logo was a way of saying you don't support what Harley is doing/and or has become. It also stood for FTF. Or f the factory.
There is something that tickles me about buying a new HD only to rotate the HD logo to indicate your disapproval. I would think a better strategy would be to buy another motorcycle, but honestly - it seems like that's what folks are doing. Which is good... and bad - HD is in such a tight spot what with having a shrinking core customer base, but consistently pissing off the core base when they try to bring new people into it. So potential customers don't want a heavy, technologically inferior, expensive machine (mostly, acknowledged there are a handful of cheaper HD models) and the core guys don't want anything that isn't what HD has been doing for 50 years. Talk about damned if you do damned if you don't.
Fantastic series of videos, Lemmy. This is the new gold standard for Sportster mod videos and will get hundreds of thousands of views over the next years - until none of the products you recommend is in production anymore... You built pretty much the perfect Sportster - until this last episode. The Scrambler look really doesn't work on this bike. Come on, it's a city prowler, people will ride this to the ice cream parlor and to the movies, no-one takes a Sportster off-road. Performance-focused road tires and some other performance mods to the engine would have made much more sense.
This was a fun series to watch and definitely gave me ideas of my own. I just bought my first bike a month ago, Sportster XL1200 actually, and I've been having fun swapping out pegs and grips and ready to sink my teeth into some other changes too. I know I'm a few years late, but thanks for the series my dudes.
I just got a 1200 XL Custom too!!! Apparently this is the easiest and most customizable Harley. So my bike dude just told me about a 1275 bolt on kit for more power made by Hammer Performance.. I might do it in like a year.
It's people like you, Lemmy, that have such transparent joy in riding and wrenching motorcycles that are the reason I'm taking the motorcycle safety course and getting a bike of my own. Hope you're satisfied, dammit.
One thing to be noted about switching handlebars. If you slide the right side controls off, it will damage the pin that activates the rear brake light. There is a spacer that needs to be inserted to protect it when removing. If the pin breaks your rear lights will be on high all the time and melt the bezels.
Just bought a 2014 Iron 883 for $5k. It has a whopping 300 miles on it. It’s basically a new bike. Previous owner bought it new, rode it off and on for awhile, had an incident that scared them so they parked it. Only started up and ran a few times a year. A good bath and it looks great. Runs great too.
This is the Navy Ship Yard in Philadelphia. Fun fact, their showroom floor is there. It's a cool place to go if you ever visit Philly. It's kind of crazy watching Revzillas videos and seeing places that I have been on my own rides. I live like 10 minutes from here.
Sad to see this series end, don't even look twice at Harleys but that bike is bitchin!! Another series like this definitely has my vote, whether it's another cruiser (Suzuki M109R personal preference), or a standard/sportbike (please not an R6, they're everywhere), I'd love to see another mild build series from my favorite Harley hugger.
Why do you think R6s are everywhere? Does it make sense for us to mod a more popular bike or a less popular bike? Let us know what you think. -DrewZilla
Great series, really enjoyed it. Spurg the reason you experienced the de-cell popping is because the bike was not tuned. I know you guys installed a V+H fuel pak but thats not considered tuning. You would get the results if you just prayed for performance, its basically a gimmick. Thanks for everything keep up the good work.
I hope this series makes a comeback, it's definitely one of my favorite things so far on Revzilla. I'd like to see this continued, but sweep over to some mods that you ship out the bike/engine for. A s&s 1200 conversion and a custom tank and mudguard paint job are usually the next points an iron owner looks to for personalization. Showing how to prep for those properly would be a good piece of info for bike owners.
Our goal is to keep these accessible and generally DIY. While it might be cool to do a 1200 conversion or custom paint, it might make more sense to show some love for other popular bike models first. -DrewZilla
I gotta say... I wasn’t liking the mods until he threw the extras on! The tires especially are killing it! The bars, headlight, and skid plate, really complete the look of the original mods. Good looking bike. And yeah, I definitely gotta flip my points cover! Definitely!
Ah Lemmy you are what made me sub to this channel because your serious about your work but still make everyone laugh with your jokes I wish you were on the channel more!
From the beginning this series was meant for stuff a noob could do with a cheap set of hand tools and no previous experience. FWIW, I think the biggest gap in the build is getting some heavier real hetro non-progressive springs for the front. Revzilla doesn't carry them though. Neither does Sonic, but somebody does.
Thanks for this. I have a 08 1200C that I purchased off another Soldier over seas and I love her. But after 60 minutes I get hamburger butt. Love the mods. Only thing stopping me from doing what I want is money.
Just bought a Harley 883! Thank you for this Series!! Amazing! Really good information, I am new to riding! I feel I made the aright Decision with this Bike 💪
Great series! I would love to see this type of series done to a harley davidson Street Bob! I think that would be really cool and a great insperation for me and alot of other guys who are looking to upgrade to a dyna/mod a dyna they already own! Keep it up RevZilla
I knew since the 1st episode that the TBR exhaust hangs low and will scrape. Good thing I held back on buying one. Waiting on that Bassani Road Rage III for Sportster.
Dang dude!!! That is one wicked sporty and now after seeing this one I am fighting the temptation to turn mine into something similar. NOT a exact copy, as mine is the XL1200C. But very similar to the one you all built. GREAT JOB! Kudo's to whoever picked out the overall design of this build. * two thumbs up *
After watching all 5 episodes, I came to the conclusion this is more of a series of advertisements for parts sold by Revzilla than an actual bike build.....
Dang I really enjoyed this video. However, the first thing I noticed was the exhaust and how low it is. On the other hand, the explanation lem gave made it all good. I've never thought of an 883 either but, if they were on the showroom floor like this bike; I would buy it. Oh, one other thing. I think you should have powdercoated the skid plate BLACK...👍👏✌🌞😎 from FLORIDA.
At 3:04 to 3:07, I am trying to swap out the sprocket cover on my 2016 Roadster much like Lemmy did here. I can't figure out, after removing the cotter pin on the brake rod, how to get the rod separated and out of the way to remove the stock cover. Any tips?
This series is so cool man! Great job doing all your videos. Please keep going cause you are my favourite Bike Channel ;) Do a Dyna series! :D A lot of potential! Much luv
I would love to see a series on modding the FZ-09 or XSR900 (or both since a lot of parts fit both). The 09 is hugely popular so that'd be a good pick I think. My other vote would be for something fun but in need of work from the factory - like the Suzuki DRZ400SM. It has potential but it's slow and looks like it's from the 80's.
Not sure there are enough different aftermarket options for the Vulcan S, even though it's an awesome bike. What do you like so far about the bike? What are you looking to change? -DrewZilla
I really like it so far, pretty comfortable. I just ordered the large windshield and I definitely want to get the R&G Engine Bars and some saddle bags.
I loved this series, but a little frustrated because some of the parts won't fit my 2017 Sportster Superlow 1200T. I would love to see an update of this series.
I'm building a Mad Max style Sportster and I absolutely LOVE those tires. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll be slapping those on for sure! I noticed the skid plate is for 2004+ Sportys, is there a way to modify it for older Sportsters? I really dig the finish. Awesome video!
huge fan of this format? I would love to see you guys do another type of bike. Love to see Spurgen do a new Triumph T120.... oh and when do we get to see his T100!!!
WOuld love to see a continuation of this series whether with this bike or a new one. Really love the concept. Question, and likely noob one at that, is there a way to have both mirrors under the bar like that?
Hey Lemmy, my HD dealership said that because I didn't use a Harley Davidson brand headlight, that I am running the risk of burning my ECU, messing up the fuel injection system, and can possibly mess with the Can Bus system. They said that the electrical is so sensitive on the newer bikes that I should just take it off. What do you think? I installed an aftermarket LED Headlight and some Auxbeam floods.
The Denali light we installed is designed to work well with the bike. If your LED headlight is of similarly high quality, you'll likely be fine. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/denali-led-headlight-module
Hey revzilla , I have a 2016 iron , I just picked up 12” OEM mini apes bars for it . I was looking to do the install myself. Do you know if I will need extension for my clutch , throttle and brake line. I was just trying to get everything ordered before I start . Thanks
Lemmy, you tricky modder, you. I like the points cover flip. BUT, it took me a minute to find the "GOOGLE SEARCH" that you refered to. Finally found it, and THIS year, I believe it's totally true about the factory. Not a fan of the new looks that Harley has come out with this year, but to be fair, I also haven't ridden any of them. May have to set a few days aside, and do my own review of the new models. Love your videos, and Revzilla has a fan for life....or as long as you're putting out videos, and selling great gear and mods.
I'd love to see what some forward controls look like on that...Its a look i dont see to often...but as a guy who's 6'3" with crazy long legs it seems like the way to go.
Idk if yall have it or not im going to look, but if not i think a touring bike mod build would be cool to watch and it would help me make decisions on what to put on my 2015 roadking i just got.
I hate that little chrome extension piece on the black foot pegs - I had to to the same thing with my mini foot boards - Does this little adapter piece come in BLACK YET?!
Hey, what’s the meaning of flipping the timer cover? Is this have anything to do with a disagreement between Harley owners and AMF ?? What’s the history?
curious on how the different tires ride?, love the handlebars but dont want to loose mirrors, and also the 970 progressive shocks im considering, they said it sits about an inch higher? im a 5'2" woman that touches the ground on my 883, how much of a lose of ground for my feet am i loosing,,,? thanks!
The tires aren't that bad actually. As for the 970 shocks, we used the taller 13" length, but they also come in a 12" length, which likely would be fine for you. You can also play with the pre-load to get an appropriate ride/saddle height that works for you. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/progressive-970-series-piggyback-shocks-for-harley-sportster-2004-2015
windsheid? got video on that ? when i got my 95 sportster home n next wanted to see how this windsheid look aww it was missin bolts n braket i think call seller , its what they received too . went online but no luck so any tips you have or show what comes with theses different stlyes tks
You can see all the available options for a '95 883/1200 linked below. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/parts/1995-harley-davidson-sportster-xlh883#page=1&sort=featured&limit=96&facets%5B%5D=2403&fit=exact_fit
rear tire is tube type so how did you replace it ? and 2014- 2015 - 2016 model sportsters are givin error code on speedo after installing custom signal or headlight. can u tell us the trick ?
I think the tank bib looks nice but would've maybe gone with a seat with matching style. And am surprised y'all didn't change the front indicators. But that's just my taste
Lemmy put a narrower 130 on the rear. We don't officially recommend it, but Lemmy's gonna Lemmy. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/duro-hf904-median-dual-sport-rear-tires
is that head light a plug and play? and is there something like that for a 98 honda shadow? ever since i got my harley with those led lights, night riding has changed
Yes, it's a replacement for 5.75" or 7" headlight inserts with H4 connectors. If your Shadow uses a 3-spade headlight connector and has a 5.75" or 7" housing, it should work. -DrewZilla
Why wasn't anything done to the front suspension? Granted the single cartridge-style is an improvement over previous years, but it still could seriously benefit from an upgrade to properly-weighted performance springs with Intiminators or a drop-in cartridge system.
We generally featured products we carry. We don't really have any fork upgrades for the 2016 Iron, nor are there many out there, so we opted not to upgrade the internals. Plus, as you said, there's already a cartridge in one leg, so it didn't really factor on the list of things to modify at this time. -DrewZilla
Im putting my vote in to continue this series.
Or start a new bike. These are great!
Big bagger mod series?
Maybe when the new goldwing comes out, a mod series on it?
Grom mod series?
More please MOARR
Future mod series are definitely being considered! -DrewZilla
I think that's a good idea, almost makes me consider a Harley.... almost :-P
Hey RevZilla. Why not consider a (bolt together) series. For the people that like to buy their own frame and like to build their bike. Who else has rewatched the sportster build like a million times
me because i can ride just a2 harleys and i need to ungay the sportster
Flipping the logo upside down was something a lot of guys used to do during the amf days. Flipping the logo was a way of saying you don't support what Harley is doing/and or has become. It also stood for FTF. Or f the factory.
the more you know. "qui the rainbow!!"
just about to start looking that up thanks
Seth Fjeldheim what logo...???
There is something that tickles me about buying a new HD only to rotate the HD logo to indicate your disapproval. I would think a better strategy would be to buy another motorcycle, but honestly - it seems like that's what folks are doing. I hate the fact that this was the last episode!
But I would have LOVED to see that last ride :P
Fantastic series of videos, Lemmy. This is the new gold standard for Sportster mod videos and will get hundreds of thousands of views over the next years - until none of the products you recommend is in production anymore...

Except us. We take Sportsters off-road haha. -DrewZilla
This was a fun series to watch and definitely gave me ideas of my own. @@PlanetJigobotTV bro i totaled mine a few months back. it was a super fun bike here's hoping you have better luck than me my dude.
I loved this series! More fun projects like this with Lemmy please!
You guys are AWESOME!
I'm a new rookie biker so watching the videos on your page taught me alot.
and got me drooling!
By the way, RevZilla. You guys are awesome. Trustworthy business that knows what people want and likes to have fun. Right on.
It's people like you, Lemmy, that have such transparent joy in riding and wrenching motorcycles that are the reason I'm taking the motorcycle safety course and getting a bike of my own. Hope you're satisfied, dammit.
Ok Spurgeon you build one and we'll have a video to compare them both! Like if you agree.
What bike would you like to see? (Remember, less popular bikes probably won't make the cut) -DrewZilla
RevZilla
Have Spurgeon build his own 883! Or do a completely new series with a different bike that would be awesome to.
Have him do a bike of his choice, one that Lemmy wouldn't like
+RevZilla how about a T120 Bonnie or Thruxton? Or the XSR900? Not sure how available the mods are for these relatively new bikes.
*Spurgeonize a Sporty? YES!*
man. I love that bike. I know I'll catch heat for saying this, but I think sportsters are the best looking Harley's. Such a bad ass looking bike!
One thing to be noted about switching handlebars. If you slide the right side controls off, it will damage the pin that activates the rear brake light. There is a spacer that needs to be inserted to protect it when removing. If the pin breaks your rear lights will be on high all the time and melt the bezels.
Damn hes brutal , i freekin like it that what reviews need knowledgeable technician + honest reviews = perfect, im happy to have found you guys
it's cool to see these two work together in the same video. The Iron came out great, wouldn't be ashamed to ride that thing either!
Just bought a 2014 Iron 883 for $5k. It has a whopping 300 miles on it. It’s basically a new bike. Previous owner bought it new, rode it off and on for awhile, had an incident that scared them so they parked it. Only started up and ran a few times a year.

Same! I have yet to ride my bike there though, too many speed demons on 95 and the Platt bridge
ryan c Yeah. I try to avoid 95 and 76 like the plague. Too many close calls lol.
Right? same here! funny to meet another Delco? guy?
South Philly actually but we are practically neighboors anyway.
-DrewZilla
Officially the only harley id ever buy
Ok clearly you glanced over a very important step.... what was in the sandwich?
Great series, really enjoyed it. Spurg the reason you experienced the de-cell popping is because the bike was not tuned. I know you guys installed a V+H fuel pak but thats not considered tuning. You would get the results if you just prayed for performance, its basically a gimmick. Thanks for everything keep up the good work.
I hope this series makes a comeback, it's definitely one of my favorite things so far on Revzilla. I'd like to see this continued, but sweep over to some mods that you ship out the bike/engine for. Ah Lemmy you are what made me sub to this channel because your serious about your work but still make everyone laugh with your jokes I wish you were on the channel more!
I really enjoy the series of videos, as I own a first gen 883N (2009).
wait, why stop here? why not extend to the more difficult things like adding a bolt-on big bore kit, swapping cams, and other performance stuff
That's got my vote.
+eljohn3 mine too....or at least do a different motorcycle
That would be awesome. They should turn this into a series. And why stop at a sportster? A lot of people mod their dynas and sportsbikes too.
+Alberto Knox he put different tires on, that's kinda hard. with a bolt on big bore kit, you don't even have to pull the engine from the frame.
Thanks for this. I have a 08 1200C that I purchased off another Soldier over seas and I love her. But after 60 minutes I get hamburger butt. Love the mods. Only thing stopping me from doing what I want is money.
i hope u guys do more series like this with different bikes. Sports bikes, other brands of cruisers, sport touring bikes etc. Awesome job guys!
Thanks, we're definitely considering mods for other bikes! -DrewZilla
I LOVE ALLTHE MODS THAT YOU DID TO THIS BIKE, LEMMY!
Spurgeon straight roasted Lemmy's Sportster.
Loved the "Mod series"....as many have stated more of this with other bikes would be super cool! Baggers next?!?!?!
Love the series. You should do a cafe racer one! I would love that
I don't own a Harley, but I enjoyed the video! Thank you guys!
30 years ago I did almost the same things to a sporty.
More fun around town than driving a van full of Sheila’s 😎
Nice series as well. 👍🏻
thats why i love my sportster ..theres so many modifications u can do and their not even that expensive
Just bought a Harley 883! Thank you for this Series!! Amazing! Really good information, I am new to riding! I feel I made the aright Decision with this Bike 💪

Man I don’t even own a bike but this guy makes it sound amazing and I’m also love the roadster and I want to mod it like this video
Great! really enjoyed the modification series! Lemmy and Spurgeon should appear more frequently together in videos!
i enjoyed binging these videos and seeing the bike transform. Keep them coming
I knew since the 1st episode that the TBR exhaust hangs low and will scrape. Good thing I held back on buying one. Waiting on that Bassani Road Rage III for Sportster.

Do a Dyna series! :D A lot of potential!
Much luv
MORE SPORTSTER MODS SERIES PLEASE!!!!
yeah, do the 1200 cc conversion kit, must do.
More of this type of video series would be awesome!!
What bike do you ride? What are you looking to modify on your bike? -DrewZilla
Very slick, enjoyable stuff, thanks guys.
I want that bike!! Long live the now dropped from HD lineup Sportsters!!
Gonna miss the sportster series.

+RevZilla street bob or low rider
+RevZilla street bob would be perfect since it's the base dyna. 👍🏼
More MODS! Great work 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
huge fan of this format? I would love to see you guys do another type of bike. Love to see Spurgen do a new Triumph T120.... oh and when do we get to see his T100!!!
My T-100 is so old and beat up, they won't let me bring it on camera.
Here's a shot of the T100. -DrewZilla

Yes, you can mount both mirrors underneath. -DrewZilla

How about a video on fuel tank mods? Would like to see how to install the 4.5 gallon tank on the Sporty!
Simply beautiful! Lemmy I owe you a 24 pack of dos equis XX, any time!
Ummm.... You can leave those with me... I'll make sure he gets them... I promise.
Was a great series!
Super late, but did you ever do a video of you taking it off the concrete? I was toying with the idea if this same style build
We did not do a specific video on that. -DrewZilla
More videos / series please!!!
I hate that little chrome extension piece on the black foot pegs - I had to to the same thing with my mini foot boards - Does this little adapter piece come in BLACK YET?!
Hahaha perfect ending. What a sight.
oh man, you never go nuts to butts! LOL
Not at all Sporty, or even a Harley fan, but I loved the series. Lemmy did great. Spurgeons turn.
-DrewZilla

I just wanted to know how long the tiers would last on the sportster
That is beautiful buddy! Are you guys planning a mod series for the Indian Scout?
Right now we aren't planning one for the Scout, but as more aftermarket parts become available, we might decide to mod one. -DrewZilla
That bike is dope!!!

rear tire is tube type so how did you replace it ? and 2014- 2015 - 2016 model sportsters are givin error code on speedo after installing custom signal or headlight. can u tell us the trick ?
I think the tank bib looks nice but would've maybe gone with a seat with matching style. And am surprised y'all didn't change the front indicators. But that's just my taste
What size is the Mitas E-07 front tire? Great series, just bought my first sporty.
It's a 100/90-19 TL, which should be the same as the stock size. -DrewZilla
@@RevZilla Thanks, what about the back tire? Stock is 150/80-16 but I can't find a Median that size.
Lemmy put a narrower 130 on the rear. We don't officially recommend it, but Lemmy's gonna Lemmy. -DrewZilla

Cool series!
is that head light a plug and play? and is there something like that for a 98 honda shadow? ever since i got my harley with those led lights, night riding has changed
-DrewZilla
What kind of boots did spurgeon have on? Need a new pair of riding boots to destroy. Loved the series!
Spurgeon was wearing his trusty REV'IT! Rodeo Boots (with red laces from Amazon). -DrewZilla
