I will mention that if you already have rslinx in slot 0 for another project. To get rid of the virtual backplane you should go in configure drivers, select the old virtual backplane and click delete. This will allow you to allow to change rslinx slot number. Hopefully it helps somebody 😉😉
Thanks, but it's a big messe that we can not Simulate a program directly by launching the emulator like With Siemens or Schneider (their emulator handle the program immediately, and i just have to focus on my program, not to find how setup the communication and rebuilt an entire simulated version of my program) we have to create a new program, change the CPU to Emulate CPU and to import Program and routines one by one. And if you do it, and notice mistakes, you have to report it again on the original program. Definitely i prefer Siemens on this point.
Thank you very much for your tutorial. This really helps and working fine. The information given in the tutorial is very nice and guided step by step to make it work.
Solid video. I got an (error 701-8004280D), and I couldn't find the answer online, but found it here. The emulator (your slot 0) was removed in the Logix Emulate for some reason
Thank you Steven for tutorial ! I have an error where I add the controller but it shows up with a red cross on it with the controller not responding. Is there a way to troubleshoot this ?
I am having an issue starting studio 5000 emulator. I keep getting virtual backplane not detected make sure rslinx is running and virtual driver is connected. Everything seems to be in order any idea what might cause this message to come up
You can add the modules to your Logix Designer project but they won't really serve any purpose. However you can add a discrete I/O module to the Emulator backplane and do some simulations that way. Very limited though.
You can purchase it from a Rockwell distributor or you can get access to our licenses as a member of myPLCtraining Academy: www.myplctraining.com/academy-sales-page-1

Your voice in video is very low. Speak load and clear to improve videos.
what do i do if it doesnt give me a selectable option in who active? i am completely lost
You would need to set up the proper driver in RSLinx first
