Ethan, It was very kind of you to record this for our benefit and it is great to see Angels Stadium being put to good use for a change. Original and understated cars are the 'raddest' of all .
I had a 1980 Mazda GLC, the first car I bought. I had it 47 days before it was totaled (not my fault). That little car was awesome and probably saved my life.
Thanks for the time you spent with the GLC and its owner. My wife's first car was a yellow one, and I bought a maroon one from my in-laws. Both of them are long gone. Coincidentally, I have a red MX-3 much like the one that snuck into your shots of the GLC.
What a cool show! My neighbor had a near identical 929 back in the day. And yeah, those crazy motorized vents were the first thing I thought of when I saw the car in the video.
The quality of the videos you put out are impeccable. I found my self pausing and just taking in all the gloriously shot cars. And your daughter is adorable the Maxima was my daughters favorite too, she loves her anime.
That GLC brings back memories. My aunt owned one, and drove it FOREVER. Like, into the early 2000's when my brother handed down his Saturn to her. Edit: Aww yeah... an original Subaru Turbowagon!
Ethan feels bad about not going to the show sooner... I live 5 miles away and didn't even know this was happening last weekend, or that it was held the 15 years prior. Thank you, Ethan for sharing a great experience!
My first car in 1987 was the Toyota Tercel like the white one in this video. Mine was an orange 1980 with a custom ragtop and honeycomb wheels! I sold it in '92 and regret it ever since. I was the taxi for my friends in HS when their cars were broken! Great times. Another well-done video Ethan!
Truly an ENTHUSIAST video, thank you, esp since i couldn't attend; more thoughts in person, but FYI that white '82 Tercel notch frequents CnCLA, i've seen it a bunch 🔥
Some really cool cars there! I actually prefer seeing the STOCK and UNMODIFIED ones the best. Gives us a glimpse, or a reminder of what people were buying and driving back in the day.
Great video! I've always wanted to check out JCCS, but being an East Coaster makes it difficult. It's been many years since my '88 200SX has been on a trip that long. Major props to the guy who drove his CRX from Pennsylvania. I did the next best thing, started an '80s/'90s car club here in Raleigh, NC and started hosting meets.
I don't know how I'm only now seeing this now but thank you for your appreciation of my maxima. It makes me really happy that you spent your time showing it from different angles, and that you included your daughters favorite parts of it too. thank you again, it means a lot (it usually always overlooked at meets)
We only got the 4x4 Tercel wagons in Australia, 84-88. Videos from the States always confront me with familiar model names attached to vehicles I've never seen before. Someone down the road here collected the 4x4 wagons and had three or four in the front yard, they have moved on tho.
Thanks Ethan. My favorite car is my 2000 Sienna van. Took my folks, aunt, and brother out to Mt. Rushmore in 2008. Now they are all gone except for my brother, so part of my love for the sienna are the memories. I get it detailed at Marquart Toyota and get compliments.
Thanks for taking us to this awesome show! I love these old japanese cars - had even a few by myself (Honda Conerto and Rover 216 - which are basicly the same car - and my actual daily drive at the time is a Honda CRX DelSol). These cars just have a special feeling to them. Hope to see more of your rad cars! Greetings from germany 😊
@@grunkohlaktionar7474 Soweit ich weiß, gibts in Deutschland in Richtung japanischer Autos nur das Reisbrennen. War selber aber auch noch nicht da. Und hat vermutlich auch nicht diesen schönen Rad-Charakter...
Love the stories where someone grew up with a certain vehicle and either had it passed down to them when they were old enough to drive or bought one like it
I had to keep on pausing it, rewinding it, and replaying portions because the cars were going by too fast to really appreciate! SUCH cool stuff in here!
My first car was a CRX HF. I drove from Philly to Boston and back on less than a tank of gas. It was an incredible little car that except for a clutch and other wear items didn’t cost me any serious repairs
So many great cars! That Isuzu Impulse is high, high up on my bucket list, but the details on the Sera really got me interested and curious about getting one. And a Bluebird that isn't blue!?! What! Super adorable.
One of the best car show reviews I look forward to typically as it zeroes in on forgotten cars of yesterday that really need to be preserved for nostalgia in this fast changing car environment that is seeing the end of internal combustion engine sooner than we'd like.
That color on the Sera is perfection! I love seeing the "normal" cars at these kind of shows because many of them were just forgotten and sadly, crushed. Great video!
Awesome car show and video. Thanks Ethan. Unfortunately in Europe a lot of these cars just vanished into oblivion in the past decades. Of course there are some preserved examples but definitely not that many anymore. Japanese cars from eighties and nineties were bullet proof except for one thing: rust. And now we are realizing that these were good cars but they are already gone. And what is even more frustrating, a lot of these cars were good cars even with their base engines and trims.
I have a 2004 Toyota Celica GT manual trans with Yokohama tires on enkei TS-5 rims. I bought that car brand new in 2004 as my first new car and I will never sell it for any reason. These days its one of my cars that makes shopping runs on the weekends.
Random fact here, the Toyota Sera was used in the 1991 Metal Heroes series Solbrain as Solbraver’s car the SolGallop, if I ever buy a sera I’m totally making a replica
I used to work at a pizza place that actually had delivery cars with giant crowns on top, but they were ancient Chevettes. That Crown is far, far more royal than those.
great collection of cars tat that show, running and driving too :) i have been trying to get a toyota sera for years, living in alaska makes the logistics of buying and shipping one up here a real pain
Good video. Looks like fun. I've got a nearly identical crx, only mine isn't the HF. Still completely stock. Would love to bring it to one of these shows some year!
Fun Fact: The S12 Silvia was called the "Nissan Gazelle" here in Australia. Also I have a Molested 91 CRX (which came only with the ZC06 engine here) that Im building as a tribute to a VERY famous Sex Spec era show car
Japanese cars get no love outside the tuner people, but I appreciated this. Even with US market, there are so many oddball models, editions, etc., that it often feels that every survivor has some special feature - or lack of them. I'd certainly attend this kind of show, though I too am partial to original spec vs. the coffee can and flares crowd. First car - 77 Accord - and someday, maybe again. (Though for goodness sake it will be a 5 speed - I had the 2 speed Hondamatic as it had been bought as someone's company car. 3000 rpm at 60 I think - you were beyond 1st gear range at that point, no passing power at all)
My dream car has always been the AE92 Toyota Corolla GT-S (1988 - 1991). Realizing that dream, I bought a rough 1989 GT-S about 6 months ago, and am restoring it right now. Stay tuned... :)
i really like old japanese cars, really nice video to see so many cool models. that isuzu is really neat, but very hard to come by. i had a 92 subaru leone coupe, sadly within the year i had it the rear axle broke, and it was and still is really hard to get parts of older japanese cars here in holland. so i could not get fixed, it was such a fun car to have and hear that boxer engine roar.
that mx3 next to the glc 😍😍 i have a ford telstar (ford badged mazda 626 twin) with the same 2.5 v6 and manual gearbox you guys got in the probe has the oscilating vents that the 929 guy was talking about too ❤ hands down my fav feature of the car either that or the light up keyhole at night
It is funny somebody saying they are different when they drive a '90's Corolla. That is kind of like if somebody that drove a VW Beetle in the '80's. They are still everywhere.
What are some of your favorite classic Japanese cars?
Probably second gen Celica
Always been a fan of the 3rd-gen Prelude. Would love to pick one up that hasn't been modified beyond recognition.
Have to agree, my favorite in the 2nd generation Supra/Celica XX from 1982-85.5. But there are so many home market cars form the 1970's/80's too.
My daily driven 1998 Honda Shuttle! oh, I mean Odyssey! Have for 9 years now. Actually, the first generation CRX Si is my favorite!
One of my dream cars is the original Honda/Acura NSX

"just like the chevette, who wants to keep a chevette around?"
Brazilians: Did you call us?
What a great little car that Mazda is.
I had two 83 GLC’s as a teenager. Both automatic and manual. It was a great little cars.
Thanks for the time you spent with the GLC and its owner. My wife's first car was a yellow one, and I bought a maroon one from my in-laws. Both of them are long gone. Coincidentally, I have a red MX-3 much like the one that snuck into your shots of the GLC.
Love the old stock cars.
What a cool show! My neighbor had a near identical 929 back in the day. And yeah, those crazy motorized vents were the first thing I thought of when I saw the car in the video.
Every car should have had that option.
The quality of the videos you put out are impeccable. I found my self pausing and just taking in all the gloriously shot cars. And your daughter is adorable the Maxima was my daughters favorite too, she loves her anime.

Can you do FORGOTTEN 80s and 90s cars soon?
Yessssss. I've got one planned :)
Great suggestion! I would love to see that!
Insanely clean collection of cars that most non-enthusiasts wouldn't take a second glance at! I love it.
It was very nice meeting you Ethan, and thanks for the "15 mins of Fame opportunity" haha! What a great show.
Hey man, nice to meet you too!! 😀😀

100% agree on the stock 1st gen CRX HF! Absolutely amazing!
Whoa I didn't realize the 1st gen GLC was rear wheel drive!
The first 626 was also.

What a great video. Big thanks for this. Love those super stock original hatches. So cool to see so many of these rare cars saved.
Glad you enjoyed it!! :) :)

Love the old school cars Ethan! Those crx's get better gas mileage than todays cars.
The Sera owner has the right idea about driving that car only at night!
Great video! Love older Asian vehicles! Especially the Mazda 929 and Isuzu Impulse! 😍
