Your collection is just the perfect amount of quirky. Love it. I, too, have a soft spot for the Nova Twin Can and the McLaren Pontiac. A shame about the lousy ABS system on the Pontiac. They really were cool cars back when GM didn't have much to boast about.
It seems like you prefer weird cars. Lincoln LS is for you. Jagaur based Lincoln. I own one and love every second of driving it, it fells fast as hell. Yet it does 0-60 in probably over 8 seconds.
Actually tearing the interior of the Pontiac apart and using it as a home office would be pretty awesome. Especially those seats. Also THAT PROBE WHATTT! If its a V6/5 speed...whew
Just how do you afford all the costs of keeping all those cars? Serious question. It gets expensive paying all these registration fees, even if the cars are old. In addition, you also have to pay to smog them every two years. And what about Insurance? I keep minimum coverage on mine, and I receive the low-mileage discount, and I still pay thru the nose for any additional cars I put on the policy. Explaining to the insurance companies that I am the only driver in my household and that my annual mileage exposure to risk doesn't change regardless of how many cars I have doesn't seem to make a difference to them. So how do guys like you and Hoovie handle this aspect of car ownership? I really want to know.
One car I owned when I was 17/18 year's old (2000/2001) was a 1985 Merkur Xr4ti with a 5spd manual and was the most fun to drive car I ever owned and definitely the one that got the most looks.
Put that Dodge RAM to use on Roadie! It's a package delivery service and some gigs pay pretty well for those that require a truck. Where I live, Tractor Trailer Supply pays $40+ for you to deliver 10-15 miles! Once this pandemic is over and you're in the mood to travel, you might could find a gig on Roadie that would take you somewhere interesting. Before COVID, I worked my way through Georgia, hit a lot of the Florida major cities (Tampa, Orlando, Miami, Key West) and got paid to do it. Over $1200 worth of trips, gas was only a few hundred, slept in the car and got to explore different bars, meet some awesome people. Once COVID is over, I look forward to doing that again
I am the same way as you Ethan. Back when I was 18, I bought a 1991 Eagle Premier ES as my first car. I looked for three years to find one and though I had a 1989 LX model, it was not the same. Now, though I found a 1991 Eagle Premier ES Limited that is the same color as my first car. I love it as it brings back all the memories as it has the same features my first car had; Floor shift, automatic seatbelts, luggage rack, graphic equalizer, I could go on. Paid $1100 for it. In that sense, I respect your love for that Geo Prizm GSi, one man's junk is another's treasure.
Been rolling through watching the RAD videos, thinking Australia would really appreciate something like that. So different & refreshing. Mind you, I’m not in the scene, even though I am a little like this bloke with my five cars (naughties & nineties), in which I seem to replace the one I just sold with another one almost straight away every time, including ‘that look’ (you would relate mr ‘hellocar’, I’m sure) from my wife.
Your T-shirt with a B210 reminds me of my childhood. A neighbor bought a brand new, white B210. I was in high school. Over the next few years I watched the car's body rust in a manner I have not seen since. I mean, the body became a gaping hole of rust within about 3 years. Rust holes everywhere: doors, hood, fenders, quarter panels. Everywhere. And not just surface rust. I'm talking oxidation that completely enveloped the body.
Love the video man! If you wanna get any bad smell out of a car. I learn this from the body shop I bought my TGP from in Wilkesboro NC. A Thunder chicken had mold in it bad and the car looked clean just smelled horrid. The husband and wife who owned the place told me you get one of those air freshener that grandmas have on the back of their toilet for the house and leave it in there in the hot sun for days and then all you'll smell is the air freshener and itll suck out all the smell into the goo in the freshener. remove and air out and you are golden! 👍🤘🙂🙃 Thatll take care of the pee smell for ya! hahah
The Stanza is of the group of cars I called high hat wagons. There was a Tercel and a Mitsubishi Colt sold as a Dodge. I took, and was failed in a driving test in a borrowed Tercel wagon in 1990. I passed later that year in my friend's Mom's 1988 LeBaron sedan.
Is it weird that I like each of your cars for so many of the same reasons - nostalgia, era styling and performance and being unobtainable when I was a teenager! I did however have a '93 Probe GT that my wife bought new. Ahhh, good times!
Wow I'm 42 I remember all these cars not a lot of people care about these cars I want to keep your collection going I'm an A tech and can bring those cars back to life
Looks like a bunch of people beat me to it!! That unmistakable body line and pop up headlight of a ford probe and why am I not surprised it’s purple??!!
Holy Sh!t. I had a 98 SER from 2000-2003. Loved it. Handled so nice. kept up with equal aged Civic SI etc in my areas little street race scene. We did more of a time attac/rally on back roads style rather than drags. Jeez we were crazy in our early 20s.
Wow, the Stanza Wagon that used to be the Nissan Axxess. I always tell my friends Dodge actually didn’t have the first four door minivan in ‘96; Nissan did with the Axxess.
I think I have somewhat similar taste in cars to you. I currently have 7 vehicles (5 cars, 2 bikes). At a certain point it becomes a challenge to give all of your vehicles regular use. There are some weekends when I think about going out of town somewhere but I'm like "nah, I have a couple of vehicles that I haven't started all week and need to drive." Also, my main dd is also the car that I would most trust on a road trip and I don't want to drive it all weekend, in addition to having given it a lot of use during the week. First world problems . . .
I think the tour and radwood videos are my favorite. Anything with your personal cars in general are amazing haha. Definitely hang on to some of those! But then again if it's breaking the bank it might be time to let some go 😅. I know the feeling too well of only being able to have so many unfortunately
I had a '87 Stanza wagon. Same color, but is was 4WD. So Nissan also threw that at it. It worked great in the snow. Drove it to California from Wisconsin and back. Took a pass for fun at the Bonneville Salt Flats. It was a cool car.
This video is so damm awesome! The interior on the Stanza looks strikingly similar to my 86 Hardbody D21 4x4. Even the door panel, didn't know they recycled that many elements in 86
Ps I wouldnt ever get rid of that TGP! If you love it drive it man! Everyone Inknow who's had one and sells them ends up wanting them back in a couple years and regrets it dearly and it costs them! Yours is low miles and that's an harder thing to find. I'd Paint it again and you'll soo fall in love for many reasons. Also get that thing out to some car shows when everything is back to normal! You'll be amazed at how many people come and look and wanna ask questions and talk to you about it! Great way to send people to your TH-cam and Podcast too! 💜🤘
I only clicked on this video because I saw the NUMMI cars in the thumbnail. Was pleasantly surprised by your eclectic collection. If you find an FX-16, you'll have the NUMMI twin cam trifecta.
My first car was a 97 Saab 9000 CSE Turbo. The only thing that actually worked was the only thing that was worth a damn, the turbo lag. At my community college, we had a 10 level parking deck and just hear that spool...
Have you thought about adding a high flow cat to the exhaust of the Chevy Nova to reduce the emissions? It may pass the smog test that way, and it won't have almost no effect on the behaviour of the car.
I think an early 90s chevy lumina z34 would blend in nicely with your collection! I had a mint 1991 black one in 2000 that I bought with under 5k miles on it. Took it to shows and gained alot of attention cause I added some Dale Earnhardt special touches and he ended up getting killed in 2001. Made money selling it to a Dale fan.
Saw the 944 before he even said anything. I actually find them for super cheap (n/a usually) all the time. Not into German cars, personally, but i love a cheap rwd fun car with pop ups. Just wish there was a mod market for cheap mod and replacement parts.
I would have the same problem if I had the money lol. I daily a 89 F-150 manual 4x4 with the 351. Everything works, even the Cruise control works. It’s mechanical sound at 300,203 kms. But that’s a 80’s ford for ya. You should buy a 80’s pickup. Change it up a bit. Great video
Our suns rays are worse here in Hawkesbay. My 2002 Corolla hatchback has a long split in the dashboard above the clock and heater controls. Thankfully my car is white, so only the bonnet has sun damage
Wow, I love the variety and the bravery to just plunge in with all these crazy cars! I have never had enough space to do that, which is probably a blessing. Just one thing, though: It's high time for you to try a Honda!
Meanwhile I have a 2006 xB with 172,000 miles on it and it fails me a lot lol It's also got major rust issues ALSO HOLY SHIT I REMEMBER SEEING MEMES OF YOUR LIAM NISSAN A FEW YEARS AGO!
No, you don't have a problem but a very cool and expensive hobby, I only own 1. 1992 Mazda Miata NA. I need to catch up to you, next ride will be a 90'sToyota Hi Ace or Town Ace Van, what do you think?
I always wanted a Pontiac Grand Prix McLaren always thought the dashboard, electronics, interior and outside was amazing and so cool, just wish it came with manual, also functional coupe would love to buy it
Dude props on Nova and the Grand Am Turbo. However, you and I certainly have a similar interest in the rare/weird/rad late 80s early 90s. One car I have been searching for ever since the moment I passed one up (probably to only one I'll ever find) is the Hyundai Scoupe LS Turbo. I love the styling of both the generations but the second gen notches out the first by just a hair. Give them a look when you get a chance. The one I was looking to by at the time only had 105k clean body and interior black paint for only $1300. I only had $1100 and needed a car that day to which I went 90 Integra Gs (which ended up being great and I got 125k miles out of it myself). The next car on my list is a 90-93 Isuzu Stylus preferably 1992 as it had the 1.8l DOHC. If you look into these they made turbo awd 4ws JDM versions. 140hp for a '92 mini sedan that weighed 2253lbs. While we are on the Isuzu line up I also have to mention my favorite hatchback ever created (coming in at a very close second would be the Mazda 323 gtx) is the 1989 Isuzu I-Mark RS. You'll love them as well I'm sure! Well hopefully you actually read and maybe respond to this message as I'd love to talk 'OUR' cars with ya some more! Take care man, Cody
I tried Bring-a-Trailer with my 1973 Chrysler New Yorker, and was told : "we feel that your car isn't a good fit for our site". OK, I will never offer them any other vehicle again. !*!* those guys !
Since you like “quirky” cars, and wanted one that gets great fuel mileage, you should’ve gotten a VW Golf/SportWagen TDI instead of the execrable Prius, you’d have a fun car that gets great mileage ( yes the Prius still gets better mileage than the TDI, but the TDI is *fun*) and wouldn’t have to turn in your Man Card for owning a Prius Plus, the TDI is also available with a manual transmission, the Prius has a fun-destroying CVT.
Buy a pro Ozone generator. Run that baby for a few hours (without you in it). And than air it out. (Should kill anything, including smells). And clean it.
I had an 88 MR2 with t-tops with the 4AGE. It's probably the FWD version, I understand there were issues with space for the T-VIS in FWD transverse situations, because the intake is on the back of the engine. So probably a less capable/flexible intake. The Probe GT however has a similar system to T-VIS called VRIS, 4 stage intake vs. 2 on the Toyota. It takes advantage of resonance at different RPMs to keep the air velocity up. Aaaand uses the high speed air bouncing off a suddenly closed intake valve as a spring, to push air back into the intake to help feed an open cylinder. All engines do this naturally at one rpm, their perfect resonant frequency. It took me a couple of years to grasp the whole concept of how it all works. T-VIS just uses 8 runners, 4 of which are closed at low rpms.
I can see this guy playing gta and collecting random npc cars and hooking them up lol.
I was sitting here thinking this lol
that is me in gta bro, level 250 and never bought a car

McLaren Pontiac is titular only but the decal looks good on it ims
That prism was called Toyota corolla liftback in europe
The Nova Twin Cam is also a Corolla...
I want that Pontiac!! Always wanted one.. love the exhaust sound

I admire your love of the rare cars that were not well liked or known.
Wow this channel is amazing how is this not huge yet
Fun video! Some of my favorite cars over the years are 1987 Honda CRX, 1996 Land Rover Discovery, 1986 Porsche 944 Turbo.
All these cars, except for the 2005-20 models, bring back memories. !

You can tell from the front bumper if it is or not.

This makes me want to fix my Conquest
Makes me wish I could afford to sort out my '06 xB
Do it fix that conquest I can't tell you the last time that I saw 1 - now after typing this comment I'll see 300 of them

Very 90s color!!

A 1990s time capsule, you say? Daihatsu Mira L500 is all about that!
This was my first car, by the way. Really nostalgic to drive
Wow, the Stanza Wagon that used to be the Nissan Axxess. I always tell my friends Dodge actually didn’t have the first four door minivan in ‘96; Nissan did with the Axxess.

Not many 1980s vehicles in my collection :
1981 Dodge Aries K-Wagon, 4 speed manual
1984 Volvo 240 sedan, manual, factory diesel
1988 Ford Cargo-7000, auto, 6.6 turbo diesel
Bruh... I feel like you purposely ended the video before the PGT just to get me going. I feel personally attacked! Hahaha😂
Great video as always.
Haha! Had to build some suspense right???

You need to find a 1986-1989 Chrysler Conquest or Mitsubishi Starion. Those are really sweet and scream late 80's styling.
What? Those look like pretty fine cars to me

I recently junked a 1990 Chevrolet Corsica hatchback. That was rare.
I just purchased a 1988 Subaru GL wagon sight-unseen to add to my collection of old weird cars. I feel like I understand you. We have a disease.
Sweeeeet!!! Yes, it is a problem... 🤔

That Pontiac and Porsche tho🔥
17:38 dont worry, that flying piston is stuck in that floating tesla roadster in space
Them Pontiac Grand Prix still look damn good...👌🏼💯✔ Outta all 10 of your cars, that one is my favorite, fo sho...👍🏼
the 944 turbo, my favourite car of all time!

I initially didn't think I wanted it, but I really want to restore that Geo Prizm GSi...
Hahaha.....lol love that pun description of the subaru......lol "the poobaru" I think I laughed for a minute straight

Yes, too much space can be a problem!! :) Yes, I can't believe I've never owned a Honda!!
The blue Nissan scars the shit out of me just thinking about driving it!! That is a death trap on wheels.
Wow.. you made me think of my 91 Geo Storm gsi..I loved that car .
I want that Nissan stanza wagon. The Nissan stanza wagon, Nissan axxess, and Mitsubishi expo are my favorite oddball minivans.
Calling a Jeep a truck is really throwing me... Haha
Yeah I guess I've always referred to body on frame SUVs as trucks. Not sure why...
Meanwhile I have a 2006 xB with 172,000 miles on it and it fails me a lot lol
It's also got major rust issues
ALSO HOLY SHIT I REMEMBER SEEING MEMES OF YOUR LIAM NISSAN A FEW YEARS AGO!
Your driveway is like 711. So much good stuff!
Thanks!! :) :) :)
Your Stanza reminds me of my girlfriend’s Nissan Maxima wagon. That car was fast and had rad gauges.

The first minivan was the 1984 Dodge Caravan/Plymouth Voyager
you have two NUMMI built cars so those things will run forever.
I am seriously shocked that turbo Porsche is still running after all of these years and extreme mileage.
The best thing to get rid of smells inside cars is a ozone generator or maybe some vinager and some baking soda.
I will try that with my Stanza :)
You are a Rich man..
I wish to have collection like yours someday.
I too have possessed Geo Prizm and drove Nissan Stanza in the past.
Mmmmm 944..
Congrats on the new Jeep! I dig it!
Thanks dood!! :)
What about the Mitsubishi Chariot? That was bigger and was released earlier than that Nissan minivan?
My favorite thing about this, No lambos, no Ferraris, just cars I've owned and cars I can own.

Are there not any car washes near you? Lol. I would like to see that Nova cleaned up.
Your Nova is like a FX-GT
You have some pretty good license plates in this license plate lottery we all play. You have a good PUN, MNY MNY MNY, and no *** CHX.
My favourite of the fleet would be that Pontiac
Buy a pro Ozone generator. Run that baby for a few hours (without you in it). And than air it out. (Should kill anything, including smells). And clean it.
Apparently the chevy nova was popular enough to be mentioned in ninja turtles.
I love the stanza
If 10 cars per Murican becomes the rule, you Murican dry up the supply on classic JDM cars in a jiffy.
What about a Renault Fuego Turbo ….we had these in Canada
Damn 944 Turbos have gotten way overpriced. As an 80s kid I've always wanted one but 7k for one with that many miles? They're not that great.
Nova is based on the 84 Corolla . So is that a 4AGE engine too like the Prizm GSi? Here for the Probe GT vids tho
Yes, the Nova Twin Cam has a 4AGE. It's a slightly older version of motor with a little less power, but still tons of fun.
SAE paper on the KL engine.

Aight you got great taste in cars
How much does it cost to renew your license plate tabs, smog and insure?
I didn't think those vehicles , then I saw the Dodge Ram truck..... nevermind
I found this channel cause of liam nissan and i was considering getting a 200sx for a budget track car.
Nice! It's a good platform. Not a ton of aftermarket support anymore but parts are super cheap.
@@HelloRoad i actually bought it. What about the coilovers i dont want to hit the bumpstops what should i do
I had a Grand Prix turbo same color, it caught fire on me in 01 then I bought a WRX bug-eye.
