Any Arsenal transfer about a goalkeeper and people start mentioning Emi Martinez. He was in his last year, plus was unwilling to extend the contract, unless promised number 1 position. He was good for us for a short while, but before Injury Leno was superb too, so it made sense only not to deprive Leno of the starting spot just because of injury. So we had no option but to cash him and we did, and the amount I guess was somehow important to get Partey. It's ofc painful to see him perform really well, but he was with us for a long time and got numerous opportunities, didn't prove himself. I still like Emi and hope he does well but we were right in making a choice and we did. Get over it guys.
If arsenal need a keeper why don't they sign Neto from Barcelona he hasn't played much but whenever he plays he doesn't disappoint plus barca want to sell him this summer they can get him for cheap
Not sure this is a priority for Arsenal. Leno is decent, he's in his prime for a keeper, and will be so for a few more seasons. Conceded 39 goals from xGA of 43 last seasons. Would be interested though to hear the post-shot xGA or the prevented goals per 90 for all the options. Leno should be noted in these stats for better comparison, like a table at the end with all the stats for all the suggested players for comparison. If he's similar or ahead, then there's really no need to replace. Or just a need to get a young keeper as a very long-term replacement. Given they already let Emi Martinez go, better to stick than to twist again and keep wasting the finances.
When i saw him played in the clip and compare it to leno i tot ramsdale is far better goalkeeper and in communication as well cos leno rarely give instruction to others but ramsdale did splendidly i think he is amazing player to have, you all can see the clip with mic to compare it between two of them, leno isnt the type to communicate with other player which make them a bit hard to coordinate i think, in comparison ramsdale like to talk with their teamate and give them clear instruction and it can ease them
Tifo missed the point here. All well & good showing Leno completing x amount of passes, but he doesn't have the personality or conviction to play out when the road is bumpy. You spend all week training to have the ball, to then see him hoof the ball any time the slightest bit of pressure comes from a nothing team like Slavia Prague. That's why Leno isn't good enough, and why they've been linked to someone like Onana, who will never lack the personality to be brave in build-up.
Martinez play very solids and one of the reason arteta won the last 2 trophies, so keeping him would encourage Leno to play better, having competition for 1st choice GK is not a bad thing
I bet you didn't say that when the deal happened. Leno was better at the time and no one could have predicted that Martinez would play on such a high level at Aston Villa. People talking in hindsight like they know everything are annoying as well btw
Hindsight is a great thing. He had been with us for years and couldn't get game time (other then some cup games and tbh he wasn't great) once Leno got injured, he came in and did brilliantly but he wanted to leave to be first choice and some people forget Leno was one of our better player before his injury so they backed Leno and sold Martinez.
Everyone here is forgetting that Arsenal did not want to sell Martinez and we’re forced to because they couldn’t guarantee him a starting position which was a must for him. Leno was one of our best players if not the best for 2 seasons so they couldn’t just look past that.
Surely this is a position in need at Chelsea or Man Utd (and Spurs before they signed Gollini) more than Arsenal? Even if his last season wasn't his strongest, Leno remains one of Arsenal's best players and one of the best goalkeepers in the division. That said, the second two picks are sensible because of their age. An immediate replacement/challenger isn't needed.
Why are people sleeping on Robin Olsen? Sweden's keeper who always preforms well at big international tournaments and is available on the market right now for any club to pick up

Altay is one of the talented GK's we produced with Uğurcan atm, he really did a wonderful job with a below average defense at Fenerbahçe. Arsenal can buy Neto for £14-16 million. Guaranteed, he's 32 but he can offer experience and a few good years. He would be willing to reduce his salary to become first choice. Hope they make this transfer.
Does anyone else think that 'goals prevented' stat is completely flawed? xG measures chance quality, not shot quality. There are loads of examples of shots that have low xG but the striker hits it so well the keeper has no chance of saving it, and they're not at fault there. But on the stats, it would count against them because they've conceded 1 goal from an xG of, say, 0.1, meaning it looks like they've conceded 0.9 more goals than expected, which makes them look like they made a mistake when they weren't at fault. It would only work as a stat if we had a measure of shot quality, not just pre-shot chance quality.
An Everton RB or RW sensible transfer would be quite interesting imo, especially seeing as they were reportedly interested in a move for Bailey once they got their finances sorted
I don't get this criticism of Leno for the most part. He has been one of our most consistent players over the last few years. He has been one of our players of the season for 2 seasons as well. I'm not sure which goalie hasn't made mistakes, and I don't think the mistakes that Leno has made has been outside of what is normal for a goalie.

@@meko98743 Not sure if Willock can be a 10 and we cant run ESR the whole season and we know what happens when he doesn't play. RB is a big worry because our play is too predictable with most of it coming down the left. If we dont have a comparable right side attack our attack as a whole will be poor. Cedric and Chambers are serviceable but not top starters. Bellerin gets spun too easily imo to be a starter. We still need another CM to start alongside Partey. Lokonga osnt a starter just yet and we've got rid of Guendouzi with Torreira and Xhaka leaving soon.
@@AjeetSingh-xq4yb I wouldn't play Willock as a 10. He's been best for Newcastle as a box to box midfielder. I also think Maitland-Niles could at least compete for a starting right wing back role if Arteta wants to play 3 at the back. I don't really have a lot of hope that we can move on Torreira and Xhaka this season. Maybe with a loan to buy, but financially, too many leagues in Europe are in too bad of a position. To be honest, I wouldn't be too angry if we kept them both this season. They're decent players at this level. Areas that could improve, but not obvious weak spots, and not places we can significantly improve without selling first. We simply need to accept that, because we need to sell before we buy, in maybe the hardest Premier League season ever for selling, we probably won't be able to move everyone on, at least not for money. So we need to fix the most obvious problems with what we have. That being the need for a number 10, then a keeper, then a creative centre back. And Arteta needs to be more tactically flexible and learn to work with what we have. If we can only make one signing, it needs to be that number 10. So many games last season were draws which could have been wins if we had more going forwards, or could truly unlock Aubameyang's finishing with great creative passes. I think we can put a little faith in Lokonga. He's what we need: a good progressive passer.
I think that Brazil is the best place to buy a goalkeeper, you could buy an insanely good and young goalie for 1M-5M euro. João Paulo, Daniel, Mailson, Marcos Felipe, Keiler.
I even sent Emi a Dm not to leave Arsenal. Should of sold Leno for £28-30 million. Leno has the most mistakes from a goalkeeper in the league since he joined. And his passing out from the back affects our attack and puts others under pressure

They want a homegrown goalkeeper so any other suggestions are pointless
They just sold their homegrown GK in Emiliano Martinez last year.
If arsenal need a keeper why don't they sign Neto from Barcelona he hasn't played much but whenever he plays he doesn't disappoint plus barca want to sell him this summer they can get him for cheap
I dont think he wants to come, to be second choice tho
could sign Lunin on a loan deal XD (another Real Madrid player).
@@HenSt-gz7qj I think arsenal want a homegrown keeper
Told you letting Martinez go for Leno is a huge mistake. We were so good with Martinez. Best run in decades and then we let him go for freaking Leno.
Why not go for keylor navas when he is basically going to sit on the bench all season now?
Not sure if he'd want to come to arsenal
Altay bayındır 💛💙
I hope The Athletic club correspondents send your videos to any contacts they have at clubs, some of them could really do with the help!
“Shot shopping glitches” lol
They should take a look at Martinez from Aston Villa
The Newcastle loanee, played at Swansea I think, Woodman is really good too.
I feel Yan Sommer would be a high cost, but very valuable signing
I’m I the only who thinks that Ramsdale from Sheffield United is way too underrated?
Sorry but he is pretty much rightfully rated. He is only at that level
@@vietphongnguyen6024 and this is why you are not in charge of anything and arsenal board is
When i saw him played in the clip and compare it to leno i tot ramsdale is far better goalkeeper and in communication as well cos leno rarely give instruction to others but ramsdale did splendidly i think he is amazing player to have, you all can see the clip with mic to compare it between two of them, leno isnt the type to communicate with other player which make them a bit hard to coordinate i think, in comparison ramsdale like to talk with their teamate and give them clear instruction and it can ease them
Tifo missed the point here.
Karl Darlow would be perfect as a back up. Great shot stopper, calm and decent on the ball
Don’t understand why they sold Martinez and kept Leno
Well you’re not gonna sell both. Martinez was great, but for about 10 games, and he wanted to be first choice.
That Martinez bloke at villa would fit the mould well
Ederson to me is the best keeper in the league... Given his stature and how good he is with passing... Perfect for mancity...
Sweden's keeper who always preforms well at big international tournaments and is available on the market right now for any club to pick up
altay bayinder is the one whom i want for chelsea as the 2nd choice keeper. for his height he has the best reflexes in overall europe
Is he well known?
@@zeynepcaliskannn not well known but he is only the second best keeper after ugurcan cakir in Turkish league with around 10-12 clean sheets in 20/21 I guess
@@zeynepcaliskannn tall, commanding, great reflexes, decent distribution, good at catching crosses, not sure about penalty saving as I don't watch Turkish league at all
After Uğurcan Çakır? Dude, as a Turk, I can't see any difference between them. Even in terms of age, I can say that Altay is better than Uğurcan. Altay is 23 years old and Uğurcan was 23 years old and he was a substitute in Trabzonspor. They are like Messi and Ronaldo, they are both talented in different subjects. For some reason these days Uğurcan There is a decline in , and I don't like it very much, I like the competition between them.
@@zeynepcaliskannn even I too like competition the thing, cakir has been consistent performer for the past 3 years or so if am not wrong and bayinder has great potential and can be even better than cakir otherwise I like both and turkey is blessed with these two !
I love the upgrade in the visuals quality 😍😍
Watched altay for an entire season. He's a beast of a keeper. Fenerbahçe won't let him go.
Tifo: Sensible transfer
Arsenal: Is that a new word added to the Mirriam Webster English Dictionary?
Tito you guys only looking at keepers in Europe. If Arsenal wants a really good keeper Andre Blake is the man, he’s been the No.1 keeper in the MLS over the last 5 years and arguably the best in Western Hemisphere
Altay is one of the talented GK's we produced with Uğurcan atm, he really did a wonderful job with a below average defense at Fenerbahçe. I'm not sure he fits the short passing build up play with Arsenal but i think the downgrade of Turkish Lira will make Turkey the next cheap market for talent
P.S = Galatasaray fan
Who's better destanaglu altay or cakir?!
@@killakush5388 Destanoğlu is really close to his ceiling in my opinion, can't improve like crazy if he stays and looks like he stays but he's the youngest you never know. Çakır is the most talented right now and can give you performance if you need that but i go with Bayındır just because he really steps up big matches and Çakır tends to get beaten easily when matters
@@killakush5388 Destanoglu is not comparable with these two. Besiktas winning the title put a spotlight on him, nothing special. There are better young Turkish GKs like Doğan Alemdar and Berke Özer.
Cakir is a world class shot-stopper but his distrubition skills are bad. He'd fit better at a lower-table team in EPL. Altay is a better keeper overall. He's younger too and has more room to improve.
@@ascommau maybe we can add İrfan Eğribayat to list and we didn't see that much of Özer(and i think he's kinda overrated) but he's right esp. Alemdar looks really solid
Could you do Brighton striker and include Terem Moffi?
They should get Navas. He is so underappreciated at PSG and Real Madrid
I don’t think Arsenal have the facilities for that big man
Arsenal can buy Neto for £14-16 million.
Tifo will make people the best career mode manager
Tbh most of my career mode signings come from Tifo videos
I've done a couple of Feyenoord saves on Football Manager - Bijlow always complains a lot and leaves. Last seen playing for Brighton.
An Everton RB or RW sensible transfer would be quite interesting imo, especially seeing as they were reportedly interested in a move for Bailey once they got their finances sorted
Well that didn’t happen
@@superseven4177 Tragic😔
What an improvement
I don't get this criticism of Leno for the most part. He has been one of our most consistent players over the last few years. He has been one of our players of the season for 2 seasons as well.
I'm not sure which goalie hasn't made mistakes, and I don't think the mistakes that Leno has made has been outside of what is normal for a goalie.
thoughts on my channel?
Tifo: Arsenal needs a vocal GK
Also Tifo: Altay Bayindir
He is the best on 1v1 in his age
He made about 12 points in the season
@@GrandeMacchina5 yeah I have no problem with that. I just don't know if he speaks English

I really hope Arteta and Edu would watch this
I agree, sensible makes too much sense, we need any PR to make everyone talk about us.
Sam Johnstone would be the ideal backup of we keep Leno for another season. We could then move for someone like Oana next season.
I dunno if it's a really good fit for Arsenal, but couldn't Maarteen Vandevoordt be a good future pick ?
Arsenal :

Need a 10 to rotate with ESR, a starting CM and a starting RB, before a GK.
I wanna see Maitland-Niles and Willock have a chance in the first team.
I think we need a ball-playing defender, a 10, and a keeper the most.
Lots of comments on Ramsdale on this video need to be deleted or atleast edited
Who is the best young gk he mentioned ?
Matvei Safonov. Russian, plays for Krasnodar
I think that Brazil is the best place to buy a goalkeeper, you could buy an insanely good and young goalie for 1M-5M euro. João Paulo, Daniel, Mailson, Marcos Felipe, Keiler.
Leed's Meslier has to be on every big clubs list (not that arsenal is a big team right now) he looks like he will be world class.
I even sent Emi a Dm not to leave Arsenal. Should of sold Leno for £28-30 million. Leno has the most mistakes from a goalkeeper in the league since he joined. And his passing out from the back affects our attack and puts others under pressure
Ikr, his shot stopping is good, but we hardly get any one on ones and shots to stop so ..
now do one for creative midfielders. Arsenal needs one
Didn't they just re-sign ESR
Isnt their prioritized position rb?
I remember a long prosperous period when Arsenal would be sensible with almost all their transfer deals under a genius called Arsene Wenger but fans booed at him for so long because he couldnt spend money like Man City and Chelsea who had unlimited resources and just buy titles like them
What about NK Dinamo Dominik Livakovic? Hes Croatia no1 and had very impressive saves in Europe last season, particulary in 3:0 win over Tottenham.
Yann Sommer!
Navas will probably lose his place in PSG, so i would go for him
PSG said Navas will start.
