Yes the plan is good until we get a red card, slip up in defence or switch off at the back. Some of these players are just not consistent enough but at least there's a game plan and a solid spine
I’m surprised that no one has done a deep dive into why so few elite prospects came through Arsenal’s academy during Wenger’s tenure. Especially considering the catchment size of London and the fact that Chelsea weren’t focused on youth for most of Arsene’s career thus didn’t have major competition for kids and the fact Wenger did promote youth makes it more peculiar.
Newcastle is the same. It's weird. While Manchester United produced players like the Neville brothers and Scholes from Manchester and players like Beckham from London. Newcastle never picked up players like Shearer had to go through Southampton or Michael Carrick who had to go through West Ham
Arsenal’s reliance on youth is a double-edged sword. What they add in dynamism, they lack in control. This is emblematic of Arsenal’s struggles this year. Arteta has been trying to find the balance between the two, and more often than not falling between. Control comes with experience. That’s why players like Willian and Luiz are important for supporting the young players and their development in this area.
Can you do a video on Curtis Jones? He always looks good in a team not doing well, but some fans seem to disregard him and he’s not getting talked about for England despite offering something a bit different
Honestly the number of quality youngsters arsenal have right now is not talked about enough. Martinelli, ESR, Maitland niles, Saka, Nketiah, Tierney, and more. Simply devestating.
@@louiscrinklewood2232 nah fam honestly they are. Nketiah is great and in a few years you will see. Maitland niles is fantastic as well and which is why hes fighting with TAA, walker, trippier and bissaka for that rb spot and has still seen gametime under southgate. . The only reason arsenal loaned him is out is because he wanted gametime and with cedric and bellerin right now he cant have it.
Think Arteta, for all his seemingly egoistic squad management aptitude, has been tactically immense. Ever since the kids forced his hand at Boxing Day, he hasnt disrupted the squad dynamics and its starting to bear fruit, the signs are clearly there. I mean, fans clearly saw Willian and Nketiah wasnt working, and he hasnt played the latter at all, giving those chances to Martinelli instead. Even Willian has touchwood turned a corner. Even if we dont finish in European places, I'll give him 1 full normal season as long as he builds on youth progression cuz ESR, Saka & Martinelli clearly have something special going.
Normally a team has good set of runners, but when you play Tiki-Taka/Total Football, you need players to create a build up,not create runs, build one one side, create switch of play&finish,Wingers need to come late inside the box to create a scoring option if a crossing situation happens
Def like the tactical analysis of the 4-2-3-1 as it relates to Arsenal. I feel like AC Milan are now having issues with it because of their inconsistencies + injuries. Id like to see Pioli either switch to a 4-3-1-2 or even a 3-5-2 given how inconsistent a certain CB who happens to be their captain is 💀. That combined with it seeming if Ibra isnt fit they struggle to create anything. Anyway just an idea id like to see, i cried a little when they drew last game and only cus they got a lucky late penalty lol.
Tifo, any updates on the football finance video? I asked you to discuss the financial health of clubs lower down the football pyramid, and you responded stating that you've taken note of it. In the most unassertive way possible, it's been three videos and it still hasn't been released yet. Please respond as soon as able. Thanks : )
further clarifies the dble pivot dnt offer much attacking intent apart from partey. Especially if you have ball playing cb already. Hence the aouar buendia links.
Saka dropping into half space is very dangerous, that is something Pepe is lacking. Pepe only knows going wide upfront or making runs. This is why Bellerin didnt pass the ball to Pepe after playing with RW Saka.
The video didn't explain why having younger players makes these issues better. Age has nothing to do with this. The "solution" was just following the Total Football approach that Cryuff instilled at La Masia, where Arteta was trained. The main reason Arteta likes kids is that they don't have as many opinions and feedback as more experienced players. Both him and his mentor Pep have shown that they can't really handle and manage outspoken players....they just offload them, even when they are in top form.
Arsenal has actually an very good Academy and also scouting. Arsenal should let more of their youth Players play in the first team and not just loan them. Arsenal is also playing better with them.
Hey tifo, How about making a video on formation 4-1-1-4, I use it in pes, R. Maric. Would love to see such a video and such a formation with your amazing explanation.
Do an analysis on Granit Xhaka. His forward movement of the ball is too slow which kills quick transition from defence to attack. More players like Willian is required. They buy players when they are not in their prime just for the sake of buying/re-signing. Ex- Henry, Campbell, Kallstrom, Cech, Luiz, Silvestre, Willian, etc.
Tbf he is right! Because that's what Bellerin does, but he's shit at doing it since he can't pass forward under pressure, 4/5 of his passes are either missed or backwards
I think you’ve thought about tactics here than Arteta has all season. His tactics are build from the back and when you can’t boot it upfield. Then overload wings and whip crosses in.
Loved the fantasy analysis. Watch every game like we do. With top teams we can't boss the tactics you outline, we don't usually even try. (PS we didn't "sign" the Norwegian, he's on loan.) With pedestrian teams we knock the ball around harmlessly. Very weird video from a guy who doesn't know us. OBVIOUSLY
Add a better midfield partner to Thomas Partey and they will be a much better team. Upgrades on Xhaka, ceballos and Elneny need to be addressed in the summer; at least on the first two.
As USUAL the English media hypes up these young English players to a ridiculous degree. Arsenal’s best player this season has not been Saka, Emile Smith Rowe or even the expensive forwards like Auba but the wonderful Scotsman KIERAN TIERNEY.
You simply can't write Saka off as English hype. He has without a doubt carried this team at moments throughout this season especially during Auba's dry spell, but I agree that Tierney has been just as important to the teams attacking play.
Tierney is 24. He is not "young" in this regard and has experience winning things with Celtic. Saka, Martinelli and ESR are much younger than him. Saka has scored more goals than any teenager in the Premier League and has played the most games of his age group. He is certainly the best player- Arsenal's win against Leicester was the first where he didn't start (or even play). Tierney has also been injured more often than not, which is not a good thing.
Being young in football is based on your breakthrough year, not your age. Rashford is 23 as well but is considered an experienced player having played in the Prem for 5 seasons. Tierney is an experienced player too , not cconsidered a youngster.
@@SantomPh Not true. Tierney had played the most minutes of any outfield Arsenal player before he got injured in February. He’s played 19 times in the premier league and Arsenal have had 26 games in the premier league. So that means there he has played way more matches than he has missed matches. Get your facts right 👍
Decade of underfunding by the owners. Decade of poor transfer and contract renewal policy. Lack of strength in depth. Great players leaving and less quality coming in.
