My favorite fishing content creator, BY FAR! Fishing content CANNOT get any better than this. I'm actually a big fan of this channel now and it changed my lifestyle somewhat. Finally got me a great hobby(fishing) since I left the military 8 years ago and it allowed me to beat depression/anxiety. Thank you so much NDYA, keep them coming!
Taking my wife out fishing this morning to celebrate our anniversary! We actually celebrated our 24th the beginning of this month. But work is crazy busy right now and having guardianship of a 2yo right now, we haven’t gotten to do much. Yet. It’s fishing this morning, riverboat cruise this afternoon and a movie (The Forge) this evening.
Hey buddy I'm not complaining. In fact the opposite. Years ago a spinal cord injury took me out of my bass boat and into my kayak. Your vids 4:09 actually helped me solidify that decision since I've been watching you for a long time. And on painful days, which I sometimes have and can't go fishing, you don't know how much I appreciate these vids. So, thank you. However, I consider myself still very blessed that I can still fish. Make no mistake about that.
When I was a kid in Minnesota back in the 50s I had no idea how good I had it! Two blocks to the Rum River and two miles to the Mississippi. More fishing spots than I could get to in a lifetime. Thanks for the reminder!
17" to 19" smallies are no joke, but when you get into the 20's and above, look out-they can quickly turn an otherwise memorable day, into a really amazing day. Thanks Matt. Great content as always. 👍
You can always tell a seasoned veteran fisherman. Your casting is dead on every time. At least the ones we see are. Kudos to you and your fishing skills. I love your show and your patience is fun to watch when you miss that big one. You Sir are very good at what you do and you are blessed with so many beautiful places to fish. God bless 🙏
I Iove how calm you are. Even when you had the missed strike - tangled mess. I would've been using every 4 letter word in my 'pissed off repertoire'...! Lol
Very nice smallmouth.!!! I’ve been wanting to try the rat lure. Looks like it works great for you.👍 you always catch big quality fish love your channel !
I appreciate the fact that he doesn't fight the fish to the point of exhaustion. Sometimes it can be dangerous to net a fish while it's still too fresh, but it's better than tiring them out so bad that they can't be revived and released.
Quality fishing channel without annoying music but great fish catching action ;)! Always enjoy your content Matt ! I love when you start by saying ( Well I’m at again) lol! Thank you for taking us along and some great catches! Take care Matt and see you next time!
Because of your videos I tried a rat lure this year and had great success with it. I'm heading north again in a week and looking forward to trying it again. Great videos!
That’s the magic of editing lol. It was actually a little slow out there, 45min to an hour between bites at times. It makes up for it when most of the bites are big fish though!
man, I dont know if you do your own edits or what but this was excellent. It shows the mishaps as much as the catches which relates so much more to your every day shmuck out there
I caught that same smally at the 5:00 mark back in June 😂. A fun game I play is comparing fish you catch to pics I have of fish in the same spot. June 9 she smacked a 1/4oz jig and a white grub.
A lot of people do float it on certain stretches. This one leads into a lake where there’s a half mile of slack water so not the best spot to tube unless the wind is in their favor.
I love the content man. Just go out and fish- less talking and just fishing. Its always in your perspective. No crazy filming angles. Just fish your perspective. When I kayak fish i do the same thing- go pro on chest/head mount. Goood videos man.
What show this guy puts on. Doesn't matter the species. Pike Smallies Musky Largemouth Crappie He slays them alll!!! My favorite fisherman for the last 5yrs
Hey Matt, highly suggest ordering a new pair of those umpqua river grip forceps when you can. They redesigned them and they are more ergonomic and have better line cutting capabilities, esp with thicker braid. Nice video as always!
I have one of the new ones in my garage, they’re nice! The other ones I have are actually the original William Joseph brand ones that Umpqua copied when WJ shut down. They’re pretty much identical but the WJ ones had better build quality and slice through braid like it’s nothing.
I grew up catching bronzebacks out of creeks and small rivers, they are alot of fun especially when you hook a 20 incher or bigger. Come up to the St.Lawrence river in northeastern NY and catch 7+ lb smallmouth bass like the Bassmaster Elites that were just up here. Could see them and hear them crusing by at 70 mph at 7 am from my living room lol the elite series has been up here for about 12 years now.
Was there yesterday was pretty good fishin. Water was way up compares to yrs past. Floated from the dam in town down to the lake. Somespots the current was rippin lol. Ive caught huge smallies on mille lacs throwing rats as well.
Nice, peaceful day out on the water....pound for pound, smallmouth are the strongest i think...I'm ready for fall, it was freakin' hot out there today...caught 1 nice bass on the new Lunkerhunt mouse hollow body...pretty cool bait! I'd recommend it...water was really low, seems it turns them off...a very underrated bait for smallies in river conditions ive found recently is a 6-7" soft jerkbait...had a couple real nice smallies SMASH it in the last few weeks...7" Googan Dart is my top choice, but super fluke, zman, a few others will get it done

Glad to hear this, stranger. Keep it right up!
Thank you for your service and enjoy your time on the water!
🫡
That is amazing to hear! keep doing good things for yourself:)
I agree. No gimmicks. Just good fishing with tips on technique and tactics. Im a fan AND am inspired to improve my own kayak fishing channel.
Yeah this channel got me out fishing regularly too!
The best fishing channel on TH-cam. No electronics just a man on the water exploring spots.
This man deserves so many more subscribers 💯🎣
"I cant believe there isn't one in there!!" I say that to myself 100 times when out fishing!! Great vid!!
You have pulled out some of the most beautiful smallies I’ve ever seen!! You’re always killing it out there!! Keep it up bud!

Butch, you are a pillar of gratitude. Thanks for sharing and keep doing what brings in the joy.

I should go give the Rum a try sometime!
@@ndyakanglerplease do, i would love to see a video of the fishing there
@@ndyakangler you should give the rum a try. It’s a tight little river but lots of fun.
Great video Good job showing ever bass or fish in front of the camera. I love seeing what you are caught on the water
17" to 19" smallies are no joke, but when you get into the 20's and above, look out-they can quickly turn
an otherwise memorable day, into a really amazing day. Thanks Matt. Great content as always. 👍
Can't tell if this is humble fish bragging or glazing or someone being nice lol
Are these basically stocked fish bred for fast growth rate?
Yessir, bagged me a 22” in Northern Michigan and what a ride
It’s the respect you give the fish, that keeps me coming back. And your calm acceptance of being an ace. In the same league as my uncle Fuzzy.
@@badlyniceness2315 I want you to catch some mighty muskies!

The calmest I've ever seen someone with a knot like that, impressed good sir.
Very nice smallmouth.!!! I’ve been wanting to try the rat lure. Looks like it works great for you.👍 you always catch big quality fish love your channel !
This guy catches a crazy amount of very high quality fish. Well done brother.
I'm so happy you added in the part where your line tangled
I appreciate the fact that he doesn't fight the fish to the point of exhaustion. Sometimes it can be dangerous to net a fish while it's still too fresh, but it's better than tiring them out so bad that they can't be revived and released.
Really cool content man,top water fishing is so exciting.love from Ireland 🇮🇪
I can not wait until you get our baits in the mail. I think you’ll have a blast with them!!
I’ll be grabbing them Monday! I look forward to catching some fish with them!
New bucket list achievement unlocked.
Would love to go fishing with matt big time.
This rat lure is for sure a smallmouth smasher.
The sound of that paddle is SO relaxing
My friends and I refer to you as "NPR Yak Angler" in the best way possible. Hope your content makes you as happy as it makes us! Thanks!
Smallies are always a fun catch!
Your videos are the best. Keep doing what you’re doing. Thanks Matt!!! 👍🎣

It is always enjoyable to watch your videos. Thank you for sharing your adventures, sir.
Love your rat fishing videos.
You are the one that got me hooked on them!
Another Master Class on catching smallies!
I appreciate you measuring the larger fish, I like to guess the length before you measure them. Thanks for the great videos!
Your videos are the best, what an awesome day catching those smallies, yup I’m jealous 😂
love how these bass zoom underwaters as you reel them in - Bass torpedoes!
Ratin on the river for big smallies, Matt, it just doesn't get any better than that, I enjoyed every moment! Take care and be safe!
This guy’s videos makes me go fishing right after
Enjoyed it? I loved every minute of it. Nothing better than bass on top. Thanks for the entertainment.
Those casts are as smooth as butter
Thanks for taking us along with you again😃
Because of your videos I tried a rat lure this year and had great success with it. I'm heading north again in a week and looking forward to trying it again. Great videos!
What a lure,& what a fisherman
Thanks for the great peaceful and natural sounds on your videos. You make great videos! I like seeing the different lures you find to use.
Man a smash on almost every cast
That’s the magic of editing lol. It was actually a little slow out there, 45min to an hour between bites at times. It makes up for it when most of the bites are big fish though!
This is how I love to enjoy my life❤
Always great content! Some awesome sized fish! Thank you for sharing!!
Now that’s what I’d call a great day on the water. I’ve been hoping for another rat video. Great video Matt.
Beautiful smallies, what fun that must of been!
These videos carry me here in Michigan. Can’t fish October ish until April ish
man, I dont know if you do your own edits or what but this was excellent. It shows the mishaps as much as the catches which relates so much more to your every day shmuck out there

Great content ! Wonderful fish ! Beautiful calm lake
Favourite angler to watch when I can't go fishing lol 🎣
He’s back at it again!!
Those quick strikes, those smallies were tormenting you! I had to resort to the "look away" method a few times yesterday myself.
greetings from Serbia. I always look forward to every new video and how well you fish
Howdy
Oh dang I’ve been catching monster large mouth all summer on this same exact lure! Pretty cool seeing you use it here
Nice video, really like to watch your fishing adventures ! Good luck sorting things out at home. Greetings from Holland
Always good video to start the day!
Saturday morning fishing zen before I cram heavy metal in my listening holes at the gym lol
Also, that last smallie was a monster!
Love that reaction tangle :)
I love those situations with down trees where smallies be hiding in
Favorite day of the week here we goooooo
I caught that same smally at the 5:00 mark back in June 😂. A fun game I play is comparing fish you catch to pics I have of fish in the same spot. June 9 she smacked a 1/4oz jig and a white grub.
You have me excited to get on the river next weekend!
Great action Matt and killed it! That lure was on fire, will defiantly have to add it to the box.
That river looks like it may be fun to float down in inner tubes
A lot of people do float it on certain stretches. This one leads into a lake where there’s a half mile of slack water so not the best spot to tube unless the wind is in their favor.
Great job Matt! TY
Amazing as usual. Thanks for the vid.
I couldn’t imagine having this good of a day! Fantastic fishing. My goal is to simply not get skunked.
Dude you have some of the best waters to fish from....So want to fish up there.
The mouth on that 20”er looked like a largemouth bass. Fantastic fish.
I love the content man. Just go out and fish- less talking and just fishing. Its always in your perspective. No crazy filming angles. Just fish your perspective. When I kayak fish i do the same thing- go pro on chest/head mount.

Great Fishing Bub
Best fishin channel on you tube!!!!
Beautiful bass😮😮
Casting detail is amazing
I live in Arizona and it is often over 90 at 3:30 am when I head out to fish. You might be getting soft on us. 😇 Another good one though. Thanks.
I feel that bud, Phoenix isn't no joke. Just got my rig yesterday, and can't wait to get ot registered and on the water.
That last bass had the mouth of a largemouth lol.. what a tank!!!
I've met Mike Bucca a couple times. Super nice guy and a hell of a bait maker. You should try his 4 inch Bull Shad. Great smallie bait.
Its a beautiful day for some kayak fishing!
Thank you !!!
Howdy Everyone! Hope everyones having a fantastic day! ☕🙂
Schools about to start for me😢 so i can’t go fishing as much anymore but I’ll wait ch your videos at school
Beautiful smallies man
Couple of these ones seemed real feisty in the net, like they legitimately wanted to slap someone in the face.
😄👍
