- SteamWorld is one of the most brilliant and enjoyable gaming franchises of today. It might seem ridiculous how a single series can turn into a tower defense game, a metroidvania, a tactics game, a card battler JRPG and city builder just like that and keep it's visual brand cohesive.
In this video I'm going through the history of the series and the studio behind them.

I love steamworld build, dig 2 is great too, I have quest but am yet to play it and I’ve never played heist. I like that they go into different genres, I’d love to see a kart racer…

It’s very much how the 8-bit home computer market worked (see Codemasters) where you took games from outside developers and publish them with your mascot and world worked into them. If you keep the quality high then it’s a great way to do things.
While I don’t remember individual characters from these games I loved Dig & Tactics and I’d happily play more
