Not to mention, there's some decent scenery and nice driving roads along the way if you don't mind taking small detours. Given that oversight, it might be a safe assumption that once the car arrived in Europe, he probably had it shipped from whatever port it arrived in to somewhere near the Nürburgring, incurring further costs he could've otherwise saved had he just collected it at the port. Would be interested to know all the details of his particular case from beginning to end. There's certainly cost savings to be had in more than a couple places.

Seems like the owner has done quite a bit of track time here in the states...if he's from LA area, likely Buttonwillow/Willow Springs, both are pretty fast circuits. Not Nür spec, but reasonably fast. Nevermind the local mountain passes of which there are many many options... Good run! Solid drive. ☺ That's the dream for sure, bring your own car that you know to a track like that and have a pro driver run it. 😎👍

Very chill lap you can tell misha was on a morning cruise 🤣🤣 the gearing is too tall in the f80s 6MT really, the DCTs go through the gears like a rocket ship and will still do 185mph in 6th wish they made the 7th gear a 1:1 like in the e9x DCT 🔥🔥
Its better then most of bmw (and not only) videos on the channel. No overheat, no tyre scratching the body, good sound, looks like a proper Gt car. Not a Subaru for sure, but decent. Cool!

Well done great effort.when I was doing some AT there I was struggling to get up one of the peaks with my bad legs at the time...then a SF selectee ran past with full kit and a rifle ...and came back down before I got to half way 😂 them dudes are crazy.
The F80 platform truly has to be one of the best track platforms of any car made to date, the power looks so smooth, the way they handle even as a rwd and the fact that they can just take an absolute beating, which anyone outside of Europe knows they can take that to the absolute bank when it comes to European cars; a European engine and drivetrain that is insanely solid is worthy of praise, BMW engineers take a bow.
Smooth operator as usual. Very nice spec M4 as well. Very well modified and sounded great. Very different to the usual sounding cars. Was closer to the E46 sound.
You can see that the one thing that hurts that car is it's weight, easy to drive and stable just that bit benign to stopping and direction changes. Same as mine🙂 Trouble is they need 500 lbs off the curb as a minimum, no idea how to get there.
By far my favourite "common" sports car, the G series doesn't look that much worse, but it sure as heck does look heavier. F series look so light and agile and this one being silver wheels on red paint with a manual on top of it is my dream car dream spec 100%.

I don't know what you mean by "clean fuels" but ethanol isn't in any way more environmentally friendly than regular old petrol and this has been known since before they started putting it in petrol.
What's with the long threads sticking out on the wheels ? Should switch to metric, we can measure things more accurately and they can be shorter. Less drag when there aren't 20 extra bolts sticking out and spinning in the air flow.
At the 8:00 mark, I think it's Wehrseifen, why do you take the corner closer to the left wall? Since it's a left turn followed by right, wouldn't you achieve a higher exit speed by staying right? Or would you lose too much entry speed?

Besides shipping and customs, I could imagine insurance and some road legislation/homologation is needed? Or is it that straightforward to put a car on foreign license plates on the road (here and over the pond) ?
So you can just ship your car temporarily to another country. All you need to do is pay for the shipment and that's it basically. You do need to get car insurance which isn't too expensive. The shippers need to see a title for the car and or if it is bank owned then a notarized letter from the bank saying you can ship the car and a certified copy of your title. Like he said it cost him $3500 to ship and two months, is on point for that distance. I am shipping my 2016 Dodge Viper from Texas to London, then driving 4000 miles(11 countries) in which will be stopping at the Nürburgring to go around it a few times. So I have found all of this information and will document the whole thing. Oddly enough it isn't super available to the public on what all you have to do. I track my car so this will add another track to the list of tracks my car has gone on. If I could get Misha to do a lap in my car that would be a plus but I am not going over there until June of next year.
0:30 i honestly would rather buy a used track car instead of bringing my own. i mean cheap ones can be bought for 5 to 10k .. something like a gutted Honda Civic or BMW 3 series.

Some modern cars will automatically do it for you. They can sense your downshift somehow and bring the revs up to the exact speed for a perfect downshift.
Watching Misha’s footwork with an auto-blip car hurts my brain. I think it might take me longer to get used to auto-blip than it did to learn heel-toe. Old habits die hard.

He had to have the car shipped from Cali to the east coast. That is easily $1K-$1.5K one way. You can ship a car to Germany for $1.5K-$2K from NJ.

s55 sounds great with a single midpipe. takes out a lot of the rasp.
sounds like crap compared to resonated equal length midpipe.

I have a Z4M with the 3.2 engine and a stock F82 M4 (UK). I much prefer the na 3.2 sound but his M4 exhaust mods do sound great!

I can't recall the last BMW I've seen overheat on the channel. If they aren't modded with 900Hp they seem to handle the track without much fuss.

6th gear at 7000rpm is ca 315-310 km/h.
With the 8Hp ist ca 430 km/h at 7.000rpm
I see the gear ratio is indeed slightly long; and I assume the airbag & seatbelt warning were due to aftermarket seat?

I have a friend with full F/R SPL and loves it especially the total adjustability.
SPL has had some quality issues with bolts bending/snapping. The hubs with press fit studs are from a company in the US called Core4 Motorsports

Importing is different than just a temporary visit. The rules are much more lax.
I see cars with US plates from time to time in Europe. Most of them are probably US service members which can ship their cars affordably.
