"It's a little tricky to get a torque wrench in there" is mechanic speak for, "I'm not gonna torque that." 😂

It is a cock sucker to get out, I took the fender inside out but left wheel on with it turned all the way to left. Took me about an hour and a half and I'm just a home mechanic at best. I did drop the one mounting bold on my fucking forehead that hurt a little.

thanks for this, i just finished doing a Head Gasket Job for my girlfriend Tacoma yesterday, that thank God it went well, so she's been barrowing my truck to Do Landscaping with my 2007 Silverado and the starter went out today in the job, with 310,000 miles, I tried hitting it with a hammer and didn't work, very limited where you can strike, we left it at the job, the Auto part should have it by 3pm, then I can go and do it quicker thanks to this Amazing Detail Video, Much Love!!

Good video, pretty straight forward and like you started with, I like to view before I do. I disconnected the battery once on my Silverado and the truck went into limp mode and the dealer had to reset the programming. I since got one of those 9V battery gizmo that plugs into the cigarette lighter to maintain power to the computer. Might save you a trip to the dealer.

My cooler lines are routed differently. No room to come down. Looks like I'll be pulling my exhaust manifold.

I haven’t taken mine out yet but I’m looking online for the part n there’s no plug starter with the plug in

To make it easier to get the 13 mm nut for the wire on the starter solenoid take the harness loose from the top of the frame you can pull the starter down easier to get to this nut . This nut is on top of the frame, passengers side, front fender well

Thanks for renoving stuff to simplify the view.
But really imo. If anyone feels they need that much space. Perhaps someone else oughta do it for them. If possible.
Because removing all that stuff takes longer than the job itself.
    Thanks.
    I needed this.

What size is that transmission cover bolt? I need to replace mine, because it's missing.

FYI. If you have a transmission cooler, you will have to get by those lines too. It adds a little complexity but they can move around

Mine has no plug in, just the two bolts, then the negative post, is that supposed to be connected to something?

I wonder if there will ever be a video that actual shows where it is under the hood.

This video is not for an 07 new body style, at least. 07 new body Silverado uses a post for the starter wire, not a plug in. STA0371 is needed, not STA0394.

Do not torque the bolts to 37 ft pounds, I ended up trying to torque them down and I destroyed the threads. Lesson learned, always look at the forums before you go ahead!

Cable connector needed to be cleaned. And 30 ft.lbs. is a bit much for cable to solenoid nut.

When it comes to torque, I think of horsepower head bolts rod bolts and Main bearing caps

Not enough perspective. I cant tell if he's under the hood or under the truck or in the wheel well? Zoom out after the battery disconnect. That's the last time we can tell which way is up

37 ft lbs is really just snug enough you cant remove the long bolts easily.
