We love your videos…. been contemplating a Florida move for a few years now but knew nothing about other than Miami and Orlando. My father has always spoken highly of the gulf coast and it seems he’s correct. Soonest would be spring of 2025 so we’ll keep you in mind! We’re also from SE Michigan btw 😉
I’m relocating to Tampa middle of May for a career move. Is there affordable 55+ townhomes or mobile home communities that you can recommend? Great video by the way. Thanks for the info!
You touched on the transit briefly. Is it that there is zero altogether or less compared to cities like NYC, Boston or DC? Is it possible to get around without a car (I don't drive but live in the LA area and use the transit system)?
If you live downtown there are buses, rail cars, uber/lyft, bikes, scooters, etc. If you live away from the city center you'll be limited to buses, uber/lyft.
Prepare to have a fat wallet full of money. It's not affordable any more in fact it's more expensive than Illinois or some parts of California. If you have money to burn, come on over. We'd love to take your money.
Hey Juan, How accurate do you think these prices are on zillow? Thanks. I'm not happy about this, a couple weeks ago I'm sure I saw my house zestimate at $249K. I just checked now and it went down to $217,600 with the zestimate range of $198K-$235K. I don't understand why it would drop so fast. I'm going check around some in Tampa now to see if the prices are dropping. This totally messes up my plans if I have to take this much of a hit on my selling price.
The Zestimate is just an algorithm. It can be wildly inaccurate. The CEO sold his home for almost 40% less than the Zestimate said it was worth. Let me know if you’d like me to take a look. Getting a professional eyes on it is really the only way to accurately price a home.
Hi, thanks for the help and I see how wildly inaccurate it is. I'm not going to pay too much attention to it. I'll watch my county auditor values and selling prices of other houses in the area. I still have alot of work to do and when I am much closer to selling time I'll send you some info. Since you are already here I ask things but I try to keep things short and simple for you. @@trulivingtampa
I’m semi retiring at 62. Don’t want to buy for a year to make sure Tampa /st pete/ Clearwater area is for me. My rent budget is under 1100/mnth. For now. Best places in your big red circle? Thank you 😊
I’m gathering all my info because I want to move within the next 2 years. I know Florida doesn’t take out state income tax from your pay, but is that the case even if you work remotely? I would be living in Florida, but working from home for a company in Missouri.
Hey Miranda. Great question btw. You only pay a state income tax to the state you live in. Here's a great resource that will help. www.taxslayer.com/blog/filing-taxes-as-remote-employee/#:~:text=As%20a%20remote%20worker%2C%20you,where%20your%20employer%20is%20located.
I will be fine. I have a good paying job, plan on a new construction home and do tons of research before moving. It’s the people who don’t research things and those who don’t have a backup plan for when things go up that have the worst issues. Even in boring Missouri the area I am looking at in Florida is only 4% higher and the house next to me just sold for $550,000 so things are going up and expensive everywhere.
It would depend on how many people in your family and your lifestyle. If you’re single and don’t have a ton of debt, then $100k is great money. If you have a family of 4 it would be tight.
Thinking about moving to Tampa. I am also a licensed real estate agent as well. Hopefully the real estate market has more motion than a place like SEATTLE smh lol
