I’m a textiles student right now and I am fresh to a Bernina machine I got off eBay. I genuinely felt crushed that this error kept coming up, I didn’t want to spend more money on a recently serviced machine I just got. Thank you so much for your videos!! Your stuff has been so helpful 😅
Thank you! I recently broke my Bernina 750qe (my “I can’t drive 75!“ or “75” for short because she can stitch so fast) bobbin door. I had been sewing w/ my machine on top of sewing cabinet on the advice of my Physical Therapist which was helping reduce my back pain. But I stood up & inadvertently pressed down on the removeable tray, causing it to jam. My dear husband was able to remove the tray w/o breaking it, but damaged the bobbin door. I took my ‘75 for servicing, but they have to order a new bobbin door for me. The tech taped it back on like I had it… but I was reluctant to sew until she was properly put back together. So thank you for your video! It’s so timely for me… and reassuring I CAN drive ‘75’ without hurting her!
Great video , Jeff. I’m guilty of most of these things! You have saved me from so many trips in for repairs. The repairmen don’t tell you these things. Best videos ever, thank you.😊
thank you VERY much. I have a 580 that has been giving me the bobbin empty message and actually stops the machine after sewing about 5 inches. this is so appreciated!! Actually, all your videos are appreciated. Helen
My 830 LE did this for months after a service. I cleaned and cleaned, used new bobbin, finally turned senser off. About 3 weeks ago I turned it on , cleaned my machine and it works fine???
that is great information, however I get error message saying top thread is out all the time even with a new spool of thread and full bobbin. I turn of that eyeball for the upper thread then I get an error message saying not to do that. so what is causing this?
@@berninajeff Thanks for your opinion. I have just taken my third 770qe+ to the Bernina repair shop in the same number of years. Number 1 started sewing backwards. They gave me their demo machine. The demo machine (Number 2) started sewing backwards. When it came back from the repair shop they kept it to use as their demo machine and gave me their newest demo machine (Number 3)to take home. While sewing on Number 3 it completely froze up with a screen that reminded me of an old TV when a tube blew. I had to hand crank to get the needle up and use the knee lift to get my fabric out from under the presser foot. Frustrating is putting it gently.
Thank you for the HOW TO videos

I had a video on this but I was required to take it down call or email and I can send you a cure.
Jeff, I would like to ask what Bernina model do you think is the most reliable sewing machine?
It depends on your type of sewing projects. The 4 series do not have as many features to go wrong.
