This is by far my favorite video! I use it all the time for a warm up or a quick class. I don't think I would like the no intros version because I like hearing your tips as I go. This one really has no intros anyway as you call out the steps. On others I tried your no intros but again, I miss the talking and the tips. It makes it more personal. So because you have the stops it's easy to skip through some explanations and still hear your voice.

1000% Allie! The KM intensive this summer (and preparing for it) was the first time I'd seriously danced in over 10 years. It was an incredibly healing experience, and just goes to show how intensely environment affects dancers. I've finally found teachers where I live who take adult dancers seriously, who meet their adult students wherever they are in their journey, and who work with them towards their goals, whatever those may be. The tools available nowadays (like the Dancer Strong program!) are things I WISH I'd had as a teenager who wanted to be professional. Thank you for the work you do, and for sharing your personal journey. I'm sure you'll find many, many people who relate.

Lisa, I'm so happy to hear this. It has been part of my personal mission to create an environment for learning that encourages dancers to love their journey, body, + the art. I know I'm not alone in that (KM intensive embodied that!) + I'm stoked to hear more people sharing this type of experience coming back. Thank you for sharing with me!

Danced for 11-12 years. Out for about 10, in regard to serious dancing. I taught some beginner classes for a year about 7 years ago but wasn’t dancing like I did growing up. I have my first class tomorrow as an adult student, going into a beginner class. Also, as an adult who has had multiple injuries the past 5-10 yrs (since stopping dancing, funny but not funny). This was so helpful. I’ve been stressing about how do I prepare, how do I help myself feel ready? Dancer brain is real and it’s cruel. Also I’m just nervous that warm ups will make me hyperventilate and I’ll look a fool 😂 Anyway, hearing your experience was comforting. Thank you for sharing! ❤

Your sharing is so appreciated. I always wondered about your experiences, thoughts and emotions around the dance class since your injuries and with the internal and external expectations that may exist because of what you do now. Your reflective process and honesty with yourself and with us is inspiring - you offer valuable perspective to me at the outset of a career. I hope that classes continue to nourish you ⭐️

Girl! I'm the same, after years of teaching I'm getting back to ballet . Little by little we will make it. Muscle memory is there. I got back once, I remember hyperventilating by the rond de Jambes, and I did it, then plantar fascists kicked in again and another big pause, probably 7 years, and getting back again. Wishing the best of luck! Thanks for making this video🌸

Oh I feel you! Injuries are pesky things that did keep me away from dance + now, more then ever, I'm committed to enjoying dance with reduced injuries:) There are always ups + downs, but I've found mindset is so important. Good luck to you!! Keep me posted how it is going!
