Love it when you two collaborate. Great tips!
Omg it’s Katie!!!
Omg this helped so much!! WILL definitely show my dance class that im in, on Tuesday!
wonderful!
Theyre all so gorgeous!
Words from the Queen herself, the legendary Kathryn Morgan ❤️
Yesss!
I draw ballet and this was SO HELPFUL in explaining issues I have with framing the character poses, thank you!
I'm so glad!
This is such a great point!
That's why I think Eva, the lady who does photography for master ballet academy, is SO talented. She has some dance knowledge prior, and is also now taking ballet, so she is able to use terms and moves the dancers understand in order to pose them perfectly for the pictures, and her ballet photos are STUNNING.
@@heehoopeanut420she does what the video is outlining too though, so it's not wrong but it's good for the photography. I bet most dance photographers know at least the terms they use for ballet.
Dance photographer here, and I capture mostly non-profesionnal dancers ! Your video helped me to put words on feelings that I got with experience , and I guess it will be even easier to guide the next dancers. Thanks 😍
Wow! This worked for my daughter.
The link didn't work. Is there a new link?
Loved this Allie! Especially the inclusiveness of capturing dancers of all levels. So important that the dancer feels comfortable and confident, even before the lens cap comes off! You, Kathryn and Katie blend so well together on screen 💜
Yes! I definitely wanted everyone to be able to see themselves in this video and take away a nugget for a stunning photo. Kathryn and Katie are the best!
A palof press pirouette?
This looks so good. I love the calmness and tuned in-ness. And the idea that you keep evolving with the age of your body, which becomes more and more important as you get older.
I have always wondered about this, but have never seen any information on this!! Wow! Thank you so much ❤ love, an adult ballet dancer
This is fascinating information. But the videos far too fast to actually understand what I’m looking at. Can you slow it down and do a whole video on this? I think it’s important for people to see this! Thank you!
I dknt get it ???
Do you wear your tights over or under your leotard? Also I have seen some girls (kids) some teens and a few women wear basic pantyhose instead of real dance tights when in class. One of the women and two teen agers (females) were wearing control top pantyhose over their leotards. Do you think this look is ok?
I’ve worn my tights both ways. I think people should wear what makes them feel comfortable. Most kids will have a dress code to follow at their studio and some allow tights over the leotard
Love you girls! ❤
If the leg holes are too small. That means you are the perfect size!✌️
Estas muy buena
i’m so excited for you to be exploring leotards again! 🎉 i love elevé’s customization options and their quality 🖤 i am OBSESSED with the fabiola on you! that color and that design is so pretty ~ the green velvet top is so lovely 🤩 i don’t think i’d like the bottom on me but the contrast is so nice ~ but i love what you said about changing the messaging to yourself when you look in the mirror 🥹
i still think you’d love cloud & victory, too! incredible sweat-wicking fabric, size range, and quality ✨ and the prettiest patterns 🥹
Thank you! The Fabiola was a surprising favorite! I really loved the quality of eleve. The mirror message is a constant practice! :)
Hi Allie! I love the video 😊 thank you for the “wear what makes you comfortable” message! I just wanted to mention that as a 5’10” adult-shaped person, élève is one of the few brands that has a long enough girth (leotard length) to fit well on me. Other leotard brands get wider with increasing size but they don’t get appreciably longer. Because of that, most leotards either give me a wedgie or do a weird tenting thing in my lower back that makes me look bigger than I am. My small piece of advice for folks who might have trouble finding leotards that fit is also to look at one of the several great custom leotard makers on Etsy. Those are nice because they will make them to your measurements and honestly, they aren’t any more expensive than eleve or lucky leos…
That is so good to know! I actually have a really long torso! You and I very well could be the same girth. Haha! Now that you mention it, I remember that the girth length was always an issue for me. Really good info for anyone reading.
A great video, so many of them looked so nice on you, especially the Eleve models.
Thank you Paula!
Such a great video - loved it ♥ (And the dark blue velvet Eleve is STUNNING on you!)
Oh thank you! I was surprised how many I loved!
Holy shit you're a godsdamned genius!!!!! That little cross makes such a big difference when trying to figure out form!!
This could honestly be used for any sport. I’m gonna save this one 🫡
I love how you properly explain each exercise, what purpose it serves and how it should feel.
Thank you! I believe its not THE exercise, but HOW you do it
How many sets/reps would you recommend for each exercise?
I would try for 10-15 of each. Nothing should ever cause pain, and it is always good form over quantity:)
Whyyyyy has nobody told me this about the standing leg in pirouettes before?
Now you know! Game changer for balances too
Thank you so much for this - super helpful!
Yay glad it was helpful!
Thank you ❤❤❤
You're welcome 😊
Are you trained in p.t.? Cause these are very similar to what my therapist gave me for upper and lower back support for arthritis :)
I am very lucky to continue to train and learn from amazing pts and doctors. I am not a pt though:)
@@AlignFitnessByAllie Awesome! I can tell. Best wishes in your ventures. You have great advice for strength and stability.
Danced for 11-12 years. Out for about 10, in regard to serious dancing. I taught some beginner classes for a year about 7 years ago but wasn’t dancing like I did growing up. I have my first class tomorrow as an adult student, going into a beginner class. Also, as an adult who has had multiple injuries the past 5-10 yrs (since stopping dancing, funny but not funny). This was so helpful. I’ve been stressing about how do I prepare, how do I help myself feel ready? Dancer brain is real and it’s cruel. Also I’m just nervous that warm ups will make me hyperventilate and I’ll look a fool 😂 Anyway, hearing your experience was comforting. Thank you for sharing! ❤
Thanks 🎉
No problem
The pencil game is an excellent guide/ exercise. Im so excited to try it to see how far off my alignment is!!! As a ballet dancer my entire life, I’ve always struggled with turnout & alignment NOT having 180 deg. turnout. I’ve finally found something useful & I really appreciate this video.
Wonderful!
WOW. I did this and then tried releve in 1st position and had PERFECT balance. Amazing!
Fantastic!
Do you have any more suggestions for summer intensives for adult ballet dancers?
You are wonderful, all the tips you give are very useful. Greetings from Mexico.
Happy they assist!
I have tried this for a few days! I think it is working!!
That’s fantastic!
I needed this! You explained this so well. Thank you so much for sharing. 💖💕
Seriously some of the best money I've spent on Amazon. Love using it before class too to "wake up" my feet ◡̈
Amazing skill❤
Allie in regards to the mind-body connection are you familiar with the Alexander Technique?
I am familiar!
Amazing!!
Me on the teachers spinny chair:
OMG I wish I had this thing at home 😂it looks like so much fun 😅
hi
Smokin body. Wow
Fascinating! Thank you so much for this!
Where have you been the last 20 years of my life! So glad I found you!!! ❤❤❤
So needed this!!!!!! I’m way too aggressive when I try to return to dance and I always injure myself! I also feel like at my age (41) I have something to prove. I needed this!!!! It’s been at least 7 years since my last class so I have NO business jumping right in like I was just in class yesterday!!!!
Im glad you liked the video!! Yes when we have been out of dance for a while its best to condition our body again to prepare for class :)
