FINICKY FISH FALL FOR THE SANDY ANDY | LURE FISHING FOR BASS

- This video was from a session I had one morning before work where I try to catch some bass using surface lures. Things wouldn’t exactly go to plan however, as the fish seemed reluctant to commit to a surface lure on this day so a change of lure was called for. I knew that these fish would be feeding on small bait fish in this area, so I change to what’s now becoming one of my favourite soft plastic lures, The 22g Sandy Andy. Sure enough, as soon as I clipped on this little lure, I was into some fish. I hope you enjoy this video and if you do, then leave a 'LIKE' and let me know in the comments if you've had similar sessions to this recently. As always, thanks for watching and see you on the next one 🎣

So good to see how it’s done. Love watching these.
Haha thanks a lot mate 🎣👍🏼🤙🏼
Always worth chopping and changing the lures when they're acting like that well done good session that 🍀🙏
I look forward to your videos Cal, don’t you just love it when fish are so finicky. You won out in the end though. Good for you.
Thanks a lot, I appreciate you checking out the videos! I'm glad you enjoy them 🎣
nice session Cal, im having great succes with single hooks on topwater recently they hook up rather well. also the new fiiish biotop stick is a great lure i must add.
Nice mate! I've not used the biotop yet but I think it's a great idea they’ve made an environmentally friendly lure 👍🏼
We’ll played mate! Wind keeps blowing here, banking on a good bit of weather this September to try and make something of what’s been a piss poor Year so far! Nice footage on the remote cam. Thought you’d be over 10k by now! Your catch and cook is right up there! 👍… Now back to the DIY ☹️
Thanks a lot mate.Yeah the weather this summer has hardly been great has it! I hope it picks up where you are soon. There seems to be a lot of fish around over here atm but my main issue has been finding the time to get out lately.
Perseverance paid off in the end.well done cal.
Cheers Michael 👍🏼🎣
Liked and shared.
Cheers David 👍🏼
Have you tried a bubble float, long leader and unweighted smallish eel....
@@LurchLures No not yet but I’ve seen how effective that can be. I bought some bubble floats ages ago but haven’t got round to trying that technique yet.
I Like Your videos
For me Shore Fishing with lures is the best way of Fishing.
I prefer small sinking stickbaits Like Westin Moby or savage Gear pencil sandeel
Keep IT Up
One question:
Is IT worth a try to Go lurefishing from the Shore (Channel Coast) in january?
Tight lines
Thanks mate. Yeah they’re both good lures to use for sure. I'm not sure where you’re fishing but if it's a mild winter then I'd say it's always worth a go. Over here I'll lure fish for bass all year round but I know a lot of places in the Uk don’t fish well over the winter.
@@FISHINGWITHCAL thanks for the help. I Love Your content, best Channel on TH-cam
👋👍🙏
Watched your channel for quite a while now cal , love it how you explain everything that your doing, could you please tell me if you use braid right through or a leader and would a 3000 size reel be adequate for lrf, looking forward to your next vid
Hi mate. I use a fluorocarbon leader, 20lb and about 3ft in length. For LRF I'd personally go for a 2000 size reel, it'll be small enough and light enough for LRF species but will also handle a bigger fish if you hook one.
Great video mate, what is your rod reel set-up tight lines 🎣🐟🎣
Cheers. The rod is a 9ft Shimano Aernos 7-35g and the reel is a Penn Slammer 3500.
Brilliant stuff Cal!
Do you rate the savage gear sandeels?
Do you prefer the sandy andys?
Yeah I love the Savage Gear sand eels mate, they’re great. I like them both, they’re very similar so hard to compare i think.
Cal what rod is that please good vid
It's a 9ft Shimano Aernos 7-35g rod 👍🏼
Cal don't see many video's of the savage gear sandeel v2 weedless version have you ever used them with any success?
There are a few videos with people using the V2 on youtube. I've used them and they’re great yeah. I like the original Savage Gear sandeel, I use that quite a lot and have had loads of fish on it.
Hey pal
I know u do use the samson shad.
I acually bought 2 of them coz i watched ur videos
Iam having a pro with them
I have the 15 grammes
I tryed to retrive them slow with little twitches but evry time the front hook tangles on the leader.
Any tips?
Thx
Hi mate. Yeah I use the shads quite a lot. That's weird that you’re having that problem. Did they come with trebles or singles on? It sounds as though you’ll need to downsize the front hook to a smaller one then you shouldn’t have that problem.
@@FISHINGWITHCAL i thought the same.
I changed the trebles to a smaller size but still the same.
I gave up on them
Hi Cal, do you think a smear of scent on your top water might have induced those finicky bass?
I can’t say I've ever thought about trying that to be honest.
@@FISHINGWITHCAL Give it a go lad, seems to work well with soft plastics though, I've never tried it with hard bodies myself.
Hey cal what length were you using on the sandy andy bud
It’s about 4 inches long that one. It weighs 22g 👍🏼
@@FISHINGWITHCAL Cheers cal 🤟
reat video Cal have you got a link for that Sandy andy please and what weight and name was it
Thanks mate. I got the lures from Mr Fish. They’re called the Sandy Andy RoboCod. They’re 22g these ones.
thanks Cal
