    When you do any modifications to exhaust or air filter start the bike up (DO NOT REV IT) let it idle for 30 minutes and the CPU will self adjust to the new setting. After 30 minutes turn off the bike and DO NOT START IT FOR 30 SECONDS.Job done.

    Awesome video, a rare find for a foreign bike. I just picked up the exact bike you’ve got in October. I love the sound you get her but man I’m just worried about jacking up the ECU without wanting to spend the 200 on a fuelx

    • @JSNorman
      @JSNorman  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I understand. It’s tough dropping $200 on a tuner. You really can’t change anything in terms of performance without addressing a few other areas. The nice thing is the bike is a blast without messing with it.

    What did you do about your main stand as the catalytic converter has the rubber stops on it for the main stand? You would need to probably get a bar with rubber stops on it so you can still use the main stand as this is very useful when doing a service or changing a tyre. You'd also probably need to get an exhaust chrome extension to retain the original look & length, otherwise it looks a little odd with the exhaust being so short.

  • @frankfeely9235
    @frankfeely9235 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Just found your video, I have done the same mod to my exhaust. One item that came up immediately is that when you take off the cat you lose the rubber stops that the centre stand hits on when retracted, without the stops the centre stand now comes into contact with the chain. I was wondering what you did to overcome this?

  • @SUJITHVNAIR

    Hi, Friend, great video you had made.
    I am thinking of doing this exhaust mod. But i hav some query. Requesting your suggestion as you have first hand information.
    1) some are saying against removing catalytic converter as it will cause engine problems (valve issues) and milege and pick up drop., as exhaust getting free flow and so the engine gets only lean mixture. Have you come into any issues after this catalytic converter removed and new exhaust mod??
    plz mention the differences you got in all aspects.
    Plz repl. Thankyou

    What you did with the exhaust is awesome. I was searching and trying to decide if Hitchcock’s free flow system was worth it and I came across this. Looks incredible too. I like the shorter setup. It sounds better obviously, but is it obnoxiously loud when riding it? That’s one thing I never liked about aftermarket pipes.

    • @JSNorman
      @JSNorman  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I never turned any heads when it was stock. But now, if I get on it pretty good, I can get some attention. You still can’t really hear it above 35-40mph. So I definitely think it’s a happy-medium.

      @@JSNorman that’s good to know. My first bike had straight pipes and it was all I could hear when riding it. I like that you kept the stock exhaust. I wouldn’t change anything, except I think catalytic converters on motorcycles are kind of ridiculous.

    i just fitted fuel x pro and found quite a difference, exhaust seems louder smoother better pick up especially from low revs. increased torque. I maybe getting slightly better results than you because i have fitted Hichcocks full stainless system. im guessing they did a lot of testing before finalising it. yours without at least a decat straight pipe is rather short and may affect back pressure so its not ideal. Im at map 6 at the moment.

    • @JSNorman
      @JSNorman  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve always been partial to the shorter exhaust. Any mechanic/bike guy hasn’t been concerned with how it’s running. I do understand what you’re saying though. I’m bouncing between 6-8 on the maps.

    • @BikerMichael
      @BikerMichael ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JSNorman forgot to say also free flow air filter and larger intake already fitted. I must say although the rather expensive stainless system is very lovely it does keep a rather classic kind of look. If one looks 👁️ through the new silencer it is completely straight through but has a sound absorbent surround. Only things I don’t like is the price 😂 and the fact it is not tucked in close to the bike to say the least. I tried to adjust this by rotating it a little with the 2 head flange bolts loose. But that put the whole exhaust out of line down the side of the bike. So I ended up putting it back again. It is definitely not too loud and horrible with the supplied baffle in although some seem to like it that way. I really do think Hichcocks got this system spot on and must have done a lot of refining.I had a very short straight through end on home made decat pipe and it was terrible popping and banging. I did like it a bit but did not suit the running of the bike. Also by changing to the new system I got rid of the narrowing down part where original front enters into your silencer. So stainless system is big bore all way through!

      @@BikerMichael I was very close to getting the free flow from them, but it would have been close to $500 with shipping. And the pea shooter back end is just a little too classic for the Meteor. I do appreciate the information though!
