In Ip man 1 ...While, during the war, Ip Man did indeed refuse to teach his martial arts to the military police of the occupying Japanese - a decision which eventually forced him to flee Foshan - he certainly never had a duel with a Japanese general.” So, although the film had inaccuracies, Yip Man was as real as any other human
Yes and the dojo against the Japanese soldiers was also true, although exact details are fuzzy he could have fought ten men or five we don't know. But, it was enough to impress the Japanese in the first place so it had to be good either way.
@@ravenmunnin8109 there’s speculation of him fighting a bunch of people with a long pole on a pier in Foshan during his cop days but it’s yet to be proven, and he was still in Foshan post-Japanese occupation, what made him flee to Hong Kong was the communist party rising to power
That's not true at all. He fled mainland China and went first to Macau and eventually Hong Kong in 1949. It was nothing to do with the Japanese - he was escaping the Chinese Communists after the revolution.
If you end up liking IP Man 3, you'll probably also like Master Z, a spin off from that movie. Also has good fight sequences and a western actor you will likely recognize.
@@tseh3 that is not what im talking about. its obviously simple and exaggerated for a chinese audience who doesnt speak english. for that reason it comes across as stilted and unnatural to an english speaker. the british person with a british accent has nothing to do with it.
The fight on the table is one of the best scene in movie industry.
