Bortkiewicz has a lot of musical jewels which are desperately underrated.....the second piano concerto has no problem to stand in front of Rachmaninov, Chopin or Liszt 😀
Yes, Bortkiewicz was influence by other composers but so what? Every composer was influenced by others. He was probably the last great Romantic before "modern" music rose. Hearing this I think of Brahms (perhaps due to the pianist).
Incredible! Feeling so lucky to hear and read such beautiful music. Thank you for the upload.
I love Bortkiewicz . 🌷🌷🌷 (netherlands)
The 1st piece felt so perfectly complete👌🔥
Thank You!
We thank you all the good recordings sir.
👏👏👏

Rate them higher then. And if his concerto stands in front of Chopin it will get run over.

I agree. Too much Chopin. Bortkiewicz. Was a great composer
Much of Chopin is starting to get very dated now ! Take his first valse op. 18. For one. Don’t tell me we need it today. Talk about dated
The etude is beautiful, harder than chopins op 25 no 6 too
ВОСТОРГ!!!!!
Wonderfully played. Beautiful music
This is the first video that joins audio and music sheet of this suite. Thanks 😎
Love it
This will feature in a piano recital of mine.
Fun fact: when Bortkiewicz composed his opus 3 in the year 1906 he was already 29 years old.
Yes, but he was not alone. Roussel, Kiel and Kirchner(op. 2) wrote their op. 1 also with 29.. just to name a few.
That's why it shows so much depth and maturity
Feels sort of like Blumenfeld
Nice.

nice
He seems to have been more influenced by Chopin, Liszt, and Rachmaninoff, but this work includes some melody of musical nationalism.
The texture in No.1 screams Brahms.
No.4 is like Chopin's Etude Op. 10 No. 8 in F major (same key)
Why is he so unknown
Like Rachmaninov !
First time prokofiev
Op.3 is a little too young...
Definitely some of the more forgettable bortkiewicz pieces
