Nice one, Dean, I've just subscribed. I'm also a complete beginner, and I've just built myself a bench out of reclamed 4x2s and made the top out of pallet wood for now. I will be putting a vice on once I've put a coat of oil on to give it a bit of protection. Due to my back issues, I've made mine a little higher than normal. It's 4 feet long and 2 feet wide and stands 3 feet tall. I'm looking forward to the next video. Keep up the good work.
Hey, thank you and welcome to the channel! 🙂 That sounds like I nice workbench height really. I have back issues too and have been nursing sciatica for almost a year. So, in hindsight, I think I should have made mine as high as yours! What oil are you using? I have no idea what's best to use!
Well Dean you've just proved your not a clueless as you think, you've built a good solid bench. Great to see you enjoying the process of learning woodworking mate. Keep on at it!
@karlpopewoodcraft Thank you so much. I really appreciate that! I had a great time getting back to this project. There are still a few bits left to do, but I think I've found my process, at least, for the next workbench I make!
I made a work table look like this one but yours look perfect and better made than my. I wanted to see in your video how you put the second table at the bottom, you didn't show that. I have two big table strong and heavy that I would like not to make cuts to make the table. I make finish putting those two tables together and make a big table. Thanks for the hints
@0779risingsun Thank you! 🙏 I haven't put the bottom one in yet, but I will show all of the build in the next video.. when it is totally complete, with T track, etc, too. I would like room for a big table but I cannot. Good luck! 🙂
Good work! I subbed to follow along as I'm a beginner too!
Hey! Awesome! And welcome! Hopefully I can get through this without teaching bad techniques haha! 🙂
