    I had one for a while but sold it and recently acquired one in a trade. I usually just use an MXR Preamp, OD and Radial J48 DI. The Bass DI Preamp on the B3 matches up perfectly to my MXR and I can get useable OD sounds. Was nice to cut my pedalboard down to just this beautiful unit.

    I love the B3, use it a lot on gigs. Connected with the usb to my ipad and you get your bass in every app and send it back to the unit on stage. Great for throwing in some effects or loops. The looper is simple but loopyhd on my ipad helps me out. Also when using forscore on ipad you can automaticly set your preset for every song. For easy live on stage.

      +BassBassBass : All you need is the camera connection kit to connect your iPad/iPhone. Works out of the box as your audio input/output for all apps.

    This looks so much more user friendly than my B2.1U which is a pain to navigate around. Love that it has a looper as well, only downside is there is no expression pedal but the added looper more than makes up for that. Might be time for an upgrade.

    • @FlameFlowe1337
      @FlameFlowe1337 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Jimpotamus You can still attach a separate expression pedal and use that.

    The B3 is an awesome piece of gear for anyone that is low on space or doesn't feel like buying a million effects.
    Easy to learn, hard to master.
    In all the time I've had it I have not managed to get a good distortion tone though, which effect did you use on the Bass Metal video?
    I'd recommend this to anyone, especially with the expression pedal, which makes this unit even cooler!

    • @Dmanlamius76
      @Dmanlamius76  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Flame Flowe Hi, flame :)
      Ok, I'm pretty sure it was 'Normal DIS' (I2) but I think I changed the effect around quite a bit. I sit and play for a bit, until I find a good distortion effect I like. I keep on forgetting to save them though!
      Once I do another, I'll get the settings and reply to this comment with them :)

    • @FlameFlowe1337
      @FlameFlowe1337 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Free Bass Lessons Ok, because I was fiddling around with the individual effect but couldn't find one that really suits me.
      Looking forward to it, I'm in need for some good distortion.
      I'm going to upload my personal patch right now, maybe you like it as well, SVT emulator and compressor, which leaves a free slot for personal taste. I play this patch with a pick for maximum punk/metal.

    • @Dmanlamius76
      @Dmanlamius76  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      @FlameFlowe1337 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Free Bass Lessons I know there is a way to do it with Zoom's own software, I think it even states it on the box.
      Couldn't find it though so I put it in Google Drive drive.google.com/open?id=0B_bXck5szdXCVnJOYVRlcWJ5Nk0
      You should be able to grab it from here. In case anyone does not have the correct software www.zoom-na.com/products/guitar-bass-effects/bass/zoom-b3-bass-effects-amp-simulator-pedal#downloads is there you can download Zoom Edit & Share. The software has an import feature with which you can get the patch on the B3.

    so I've been playing the same, simple Ibanez for near 20 years and been pretty happy with the two pedals I have; a standard distortion and a delay pedal. But I'm bored and want a new bass and more sound.(I also have an old digitech effects processor but don't use it much for bass. More for vocals)... I want something that does a lot more and I've been frustrated at finding something that does all of thses things. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this and share it. You're adorable and speak so fast! This was helpful

    Can you store a patch per pedal switch? for example;
    Patch A1 on switch 1
    Patch A2 on switch 2
    Patch A3 on switch 3
    Its my only major concern going into buying this unit.
    Thanks!

    • @espbassplayer
      @espbassplayer 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      no, you cant, the patch swith is just the first one, the other 2 are for the tunner and the looper functions, help this info helps you (overall is a cool cheap multieffect bass pedal) sorry for the bad english

    • @tsharpton1
      @tsharpton1 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      No you can not. You can store pathes and bring them up but you have to file through them with the 1st 2 switches. Each switch in the normal mode turns each virtual stomp box on and off.

  • @Steveness100
    @Steveness100 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks mate, great review. I just bought one on eBay, can't wait to give it a run. What do you think about using this to plug into some powered monitors in a gig situation? My bass amp is pretty crappy but my band has a decent PA with Mackie self powered monitors. I usually plug straight into the mixing board and will use the B3 as a Di box for this. Do you reckon I really need to invest in a decent bass amp?

    • @Dmanlamius76
      @Dmanlamius76  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea, definitely look at that. A PA can handle Bass, but it's best to let a standalone amp take the brunt of the low end. Plus, you get to mess with the settings as to how you want them.
      With the effect, my advice would be to experiment as much as possible. Especially at loud levels, as some effects can add more gain than others, and it can be quite over powering. It's just a case of spending some time with it, and getting your own personal settings down :)

    • @Steveness100
      @Steveness100 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +BassBassBass thanks bro, good advice. I've got a bid on an old 250 watt Labsystems Combo amp at the moment which were made here in Melbourne and have a good reputation. Also the guy who made these amps lives 5 minutes down the road and he said he'll give it an overhaul for me so hopefully there's some good low end times ahead 👍😉🎸

    The pedalboard is really cool! I have been using it for two years and it has served well, mainly for recording. But about two months ago, it started to stop while plugged into the PC. I noticed while listening to music through the headphones output, and suddenly the sound stopped and the PC sent the audio to its own output.
    Has it happened to anyone else? any tips?

    how's is the tuner on it ? dose the led screen tell you what note your playing looking at getting this but u don't want to if it won't tell me what note my string is as I play in two different bands that both play in different tuning

    • @Dmanlamius76
      @Dmanlamius76  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Ryan Clements Its really good. Basically it tells you what note you're playing, and then two little arrows pop up, telling you to tune either way. When they are both there (I think it turns green) you have hit the right note.
      I think you can also program it to add different tunings, or the ones you use.
