Following your shot isn’t a bad thing, but I’d rather you make your first two. Angel to me is the best rebounder in the league but when you get 20 rebounds and I literally see a play where you grabbed 5 of your own misses to get to 20. It’s impressive but can we all live in reality and say if you were more efficient it would probably help your team despite not “looking” as sexy stat wise? Why is that so hard.

If you get 10FT a game that is great regardless but if you only shoot 50-60% then it is also a valid criticism to say hey get better at your FTs. You don’t have to clutch your pearls. AR like i said before is the best rebounder in the league but it is just as valid to talk about the number of missed shots. Her shooting splits are lower than volume shooting guards heaving prayers from outside. That’s bad sorry. The Sky is a team full of players (guards & wing players) that can not score consistently or shoot the ball except for C. Carter so she try to play hero ball and try to be something she is not..

The offensive rebounds isn't my issue. My issue is her shooting 33.8% from the field over her last 10 games as someone who plays
primarily near the basket. She shot 25% from the field over her last two games. That is *atrocious* ! She's shooting the worse FG% of
any top player who takes shots primarily from that range. And people have the nerve to talk about CC's three point shooting which is
just a shade under what Ionescu is shooting right now. Laughable! Reese is Andre Drummond minus the efficiency. At best.
She is NOT Drummond, she is like Rodman or Moses Malone (two Hall of Famers) and stop thinking that basketball evolve around nothing but offense. Reese is #1 in rebounding and she's top 25 in the WNBA on defense. Last time I checked, Rodman won two defensive player of the year awards. Reese is a Power Forward, and playing like Power Forwards supposed to.

Any individual stat that does not contribute to scoring is a waste of time. Reese can guard well. She's good at drawing fouls and shoots 75% from the free throw line. And she is exceptional at rebounding. Elite. I believe Caitlin is a great player offensively overall (with holes and underdeveloped in terms of variety of scoring) but I'm one of the few people that don't put down one to prop up the other, at least in these toxic comment sections on social media.

The numbers are clear.. she has the lowest % of shots made from 2ft or less.. Her offensive rebounds are not turning into points. A true rebounder like Rodman knows he is fighting 3 others for the rebound which leave some teammates wide open and immediately kicked it out to them.

@@MandownsportsHas a point guard who played, from Chicago, only experienced point guards get that efficiency to always have the ball in their hands and turn it over less. Sometimes turnovers happen because you want to make a play or maybe a teammate zigs when you think they’re going to zag. Both these players are rookies. If a point guard is turning it over too much that also is on the coach because there are other players you can initiate the offense from and it can be emphasized in practice. It depends on the coach and system. All turnovers are negative but not all turnovers are created equal. If in 2 years she is still a negative in turnovers then id highlight it.

To be fair there are narratives being developed for both Clark and Reese, and its making their fanbases just as cringe as the MJ and Lebron group. I saw a couple of games and there were some plays where her rebounds are questionable but its whatever. As of right now if im being objective the eye test tells me Clark is the better player.

Caitlin will never lead the WNBA in scoring. She will never average over 20 points a game like she did in college. Angel needs to keep her eyes on the basket when she is shooting those layups.

If Angel Reese wants to improve as a scorer than she needs to work on the following this summer
1) finishing at the rim
2) shooting form
3) footwork in the post
4) get a go-to move in the post
I said while she was in college that she has hustle and Championship DNA but there is a reason why she wasn't a Top 5 pick in the draft. Her offensive game isn't polished.
she is a rookie and has time to improve, but she rebounds a ton of her misses. I am able to be a fan and objective at the same time.
Angel Reese is shooting 39% from the field this season which is horrible compared to the other starters at her position. The Chicago Sky are a bad team, they have no bench unit, Reese is a hustle rebounder, which I said before the draft, who can block shots with a limited offensive game at the pro level. She can't be taking 15 shots in a game and missing. Unfortunately the Chicago Sky traded away Marina Mabrey before the Olympic break who spaced the floor and was a veteran scoring threat on the wing.
Finally, the reality is Reese while young, the improvements she has to make offensively are a lot. Therefore, her best bet may very well be embracing the Dennis Rodman role she has been compared to. An ELITE rebounder the best in the league, provide extreme hustle every game and defend. Her game isn't Lisa Leslie and Candace Parker and people have to understand that it never was. And thats OK. Rodman ended up a Hall of Famer.
*side note I watch all the WNBA games and my homeboy covers the Aces games so got to see Reese form up close during warm-ups and she needs work.
You know who else's offensive game wasn't polished? DWIGHT HOWARD! 8x All Star, 5x led league in Rbds, 3x DPOY, & future HOF. All players have things to work on, but she's HOF good rn! Everyone isn't built to have elite offensive skill set, ie Rodman, Ben Wallace, Mutombo, Mourning, & Dwight. All HOF!
@@perrynlenoir4080I don't know where you're getting the whole "HER GAME IS HOF GOOD RIGHT NOW" because all of those guys, outside of Ben Wallace COULD score inside (Rodman chose not to) and even still, they weren't just catching their own damn bad missed shots all the time and just tossing the ball up.
I saw this video of this high school kid (maybe middle school?) who was tall as shit (don't remember his name) and he was doing the same thing Reese was doing: miss an inside shot, catch the rebound, miss the shot, catch the rebound, etc. Its embarrassing to see.

No one claimed she was perfect. Angel is just a rookie & there are things she can work on to improve. However, being a great rebounder is NEVER a negative, so stop trying to paint it as one.
Maybe 13-16% of her rebounds are her own misses. That is exactly what Lobo was addressing. Speak to her efficiency but her rebound ability is elite. She’s also gettin hacked, blocked while she’s battling most games and those are misses. She’s not just missing wide open layups as people like to insinuate. She’s a rookie and ballin’ out right now. She hasn’t reached her ceiling she’s almost averaging a double double. She has a screw in her foot and a rod in her leg. She’ll continue to improve.
Sure Angel is a fierce rebounder, maybe record-setter. But that has nothing to do with Clark's being the total force she is and her absolute right to be ROY AND MVP this year.. Angel should just suck it up and stop with the pouting; She may be playing in the same league as Clark ain't even in Clark's league as a player.

She’s the female Dennis Rodman. I don’t know why anybody would knock her for her rebounding. It’s her shooting that deserves the criticism. How do you shoot 39% as a post player? She adds a lot of value to a team same as Rodman but unless she gets better with her shot and making layups she’s going to have a cap on her potential. I will say I love the effort she plays with she just needs to improve her scoring ability.

@@delconagher12 He shot it early in his career. At this point it’s the only comp I can make for her. He could at least hit his layups though. She plays a lot like him though in that she wins through relentless effort. She’s not the biggest or tallest girl she just outworks other people.
She does need to improve her scoring but she isn’t a post player. That’s apart of this. She’s battling down low and not getting those calls.

i dont know if its the way the media has sensationalize CC which in return lead to a black vs white trick, but from one hooper to another caitlyn is by far the better player, Angel is has the energy, enthusiasm, effort, which you cant teach, but her finishing around the basket need so much work, i think camilla is better suited for post finishing at this point, angel should kick out some of the offensive rebounds for 3 or reset the offense, she creates 2nd and 3rd chances but as we can see ate not translating to wins, her skill set is perfect for a bruiser power forward but should not be a focal point of there offense
