YOU ARE THE MAN! I bought these to replace my old astro a50 and was so sad to notice I couldnt link them with the audio jack, you saved my life. I got the white pair and they are amazing! KILLER VIDEO!
If you look on sites with good testing methods, you will see that the Maxwells are a bit overhyped from the audiophile community, especially for the price tag. For example Imaging is one of the most important parts of sound for Shooters (hearing footsteps and locate them) and on RTINGS the Maxwells only scored 5.7/10. Even the old A50s (2019) scored 8.0/10. The Maxwell has a worse mic, soundstage etc. The only thing that is better than the old A50 is sound accuracy (Bass, Mid, Treble) and the functionalty for current gen consoles. So even an old Astro A50 from 2019 is better for gaming at roughly half of the price than the Maxwells. And we can assume that the A50x is a bigger upgrade to its predecessor, so at least to me the decision is really clear between A50x and Maxwells.
I have the Maxwell and have ordered these. The Maxwell are superb for music and decent for gaming. Problem is for me, most of my gaming is FPS and I just find my wired headphones (TYGR 300r, HD560s) far better for determining location of enemies and for placing me In a believable world. I wanted to see if these could be more suited to gaming for my tastes then will just keep one wireless set.
Is there any kind of input lag or delay because the video source has got to pass through the base station instead of just directly from the console to the TV?

I have the astro A50 gen4s currently and everything sounds good and works really well, however, the mic is kinda trash. Testing it and my friends giving feedback about how I sound, they thought I was using my phone with the ass mic quality. After watching this review I am glad to know that the A50X mic is actually up to par with its hefty price. the white jawn looks good. i have grown to hate astro due to customer service and gen 4 a50 being fine for optical systems but trash for xbox series and ps5. i own 4 a50 bases and 3 a50 headsets. 2 aa40 bases 1 headset. my one headset bricked and they refused to help me or even let me send it in.
@@elevatedponce yes it does work with an external capture card :) and also i had to unplug a cord and and hdmi cord because i plugged in everything like it said and it muted my tv and had all party chat audio and game audio going to headset and muted my tv lol. Also after i unplugged the stuff i had to and messed with it i only have party chat (what i like to hear mostly) all working the way i wanted , a50x is awesome!!!

It should, I dont have the new elgato 4k x but the same way you would capture party chat audio for elgato side you should be able to use as an output to the headset as long as elgato has that source available. if not it wont

I just need one simple thing: Gamesound from my console and PC Sound at the same time. Like we have it on the A50 gen4. I just want to watch Twitch, TH-cam, or something else while im gaming. I would use my mic just on my PC for Discord and Teamspeak. I don´t need Gamechat. I hope this as simple, as it was on the gen4 astros. This was the main reason for me to buy the gen4. Bluetooth is not an option for me. I have one question are you able to lower your teammate voice volume down? On PlayStation. Game chat I know you can do an Xbox with those headsets. Are you able to do that? Also, is these heads better 5:55 than skill series.

@@Truck0331 to be perfectly honestly with you bro, I forgot that the base station acts as a hdmi switcher/splitter so I had to make sure that the input was set on PS to get the picture to come up.

I have tried steelseries and for console there not great and uncomfortable. My astro a40s was very comfortable so I will be buying this. Not a fan boy either went from turtle beaches but on console we are limited. I don't want to plug into pc to change eq settings so nice to have one with mobile app
I had a pair of steel series Arctis 9X they where really nice but the so called leather ear cuffs where flaking causing my ears to itch and they started to disconnect from my Xbox till they just stopped working less then 2 years. I'm bout to get a pair of these Astros next month

HDMI cable from your PS5 to the PS5 input on the base station. And then from the "output“ from your base station to your tv/monitor

they are a pretty loud headset, if you use the functions on the right ear cup they get louder depending on what you wanna hear.

Yes. Plug in like this, Console -> Capture card -> capture card -> base station -> monitor/tv gadgetry tech has a great video on this as well.

It has a usb cord with the main power cord you can plug into the base. If you have 1 PC and 3 monitors nothing changes

I have tried steelseries and for console there not great and uncomfortable. My astro a40s was very comfortable so I will be buying this. Not a fan boy either went from turtle beaches but on console we are limited. I don't want to plug into pc to change eq settings so nice to have one with mobile app

I had a pair of steel series Arctis 9X they where really nice but the so called leather ear cuffs where flaking causing my ears to itch and they started to disconnect from my Xbox till they just stopped working less then 2 years. I'm bout to get a pair of these Astros next month
