you are my fav drone youtuber and you help me get better at flying and your content is perfect, no annoying sponsors, no annoying sound effects, just pure tips❤
To cancel a palm control takeoff, you can also just move your hand (the one holding it) and it will cancel with something like "can't take off, aircraft motion detected".
I wonder if it would be possible to attach an Air Tag to the Neo so if you lose it you have more chances of finding it ! Thanks for the video ! Just got my Neo today but unfortunately I cannot test it cause it's pouring rain here in Montreal :(
Thank you for your tutorials and demos. Valuable stuff once you're off the ground. Getting off the ground with this ' cheap' DJI is a part that is skipped over by all reviewers however. For a newbie to the DJI environment it is frustrating to find that you also need a phone or apple device AND it has to be able to download the flyapp. Not all new phones are compatible. For a complete beginner this is not obvious at this price point. Took 2 days and an old ipad finally to download the app but then you still can't fly unless the ipad also supports cellular....not just wifi. $199 drone becomes a lot more expensive if you actually want to use it. This is a real failure on DJIs part. Thanks for letting me gripe. Keep up the good work.
Direction Track works fine for flying the Neo backwards ion front of you as long as you're walking in a straight line but if the path is curvey you'll some find it following from behind you again
You can adjust the style with the Goggles3 too. I did the test with the G3 to see if the G3 settings were kept when Neo was set to the stand alone mode and they don't.
That's interesting about the RTH when using the drone by itself or with the phone, because according to the website it states "Don't worry about returning home; when using palm takeoff or mobile app control, Neo will return to the takeoff point after completing it's course"
I am confident with all of your posts before. But this one is a bit late for me.... I went to a very beautiful beach last weekend. But I'm too scared to fly above the stunning water.... If i watch this earlier. I should capture those amazing moment....
Hi Matthew. Many thanks for the video. This little drone is certainly peaking my interest. One question I have is, if you launch the drone from a moving platform, in my case a boat, and you use the buttons for a quickshot, say do a "Dronie". When returning, will the drone come back to you/your hand, even if moving or will it get stuck somehow? The boat would only be moving at walking pace. I'm concerned that on my MIni 3 Pro when doing a Dronie and going out 80M or so, it often loses the tracking and relies on the GPS marker to come back. I could have moved 20-30M by then.
Hey Dave! I noticed during my dronie tests that the drone returns to its launch point instead of following me to where I've moved. I think it's because, like you said, it switches to a GPS marker and stops tracking.
@@TheDroneCreative Cheers for that. On less windy days it would be awsome to launch this to follow my little sailing dinghy as its hard to recover the Mini 3 Pro with the sails and strouds etc everywhere. But if it doesn;t come to you then I would be concerned. I guess you could always manually fly it back, like I di now in a way.
Another question (for your next video maybe): Does the 'face recognition' take-off feature work if the operator is (eg) wearing a helmet/hat/goggles, etc...?
Things i want: 1. Make the camera incline (to move like an fpv) 2. Make it go faster with controllers (not RC3). It only goes 28kmh on S 3. Let people pair it with older controllers (for Avata 2 they did it for motion c2) 4. Add 2.7k 60fps 5. I find it very anoying when you low on battery (30%ish) the drone will automatic RTH in 10 sec and if you are not careful and you are somewhere in the woods, bye bye. Bet they are more, but hey, what do we want from a 200$ drone?
Nice one! Hoping for these to come with future updates! 🤞🏽 I also would like to see flat color profiles for better editing, pro controls in the mobile app (like sharpness, exposure lock, iso etc) and 4:3 video.
Haven't heard, maybe missed this, anyone mention the neo providing audible low battery alarm(s). This would be, one would assume, a very useful feature when plam launched. Say, 50%, 25%, 10%. Great job with content.
Is there a manual for us people who never owned a drone before but we are considering getting the neo as our first drone? It seems that there are so many things we need to know!
So I learned something quite interesting for the USA use. Given this drone and don’t quote me on being 100% accurate, but the Neo does not have Remote ID. So let’s say for example, I want to make a music video based on my music by Evan Geistfeld, if I was to take the drone and have it make a video based with my music and monetize it, then per legality if found I used this video to monetize it without the FAA being involved or made known, they can issue a massive fee for using it to promote or gain money from such production. Very interesting, given this is marketed to TH-cam and TikTok users. Just a future warning to those of you that have this drone preordered. Heard this from a friend who had the drone preordered, then found out from higher government that this is going to be implemented, since the ban is on standby. So I’m really going to reconsider my preorder. Don’t get in trouble guys, it’s not worth it. This is mainly used for home videos and not to promote anything to gain money on TH-cam etc. Plus you can only use a mic 2 by DJI and no other external wireless mics, which makes a 200 drone, well into a 550 dollar drone that is your home video recorder.
@@cigarbearreviews I can’t see what the FAA would have any relevance anyway on copyright issues which I assume is what this is about. Also how does it matter what device you record something on? A group’s performance is presumably copyright no matter what and will get you a copyright claim strike or claim when a platform’s software detects it? I’ve never monetised anything so I’m not an expert, by the way, but I’ve had a couple of strikes after using my DJI Osmo hand held video camera. But nothing to do with DJI I guess.
A question I can't find the answer to, is....what is the distance from the RC N3 controller it will fly, still having control of course. And will you still be able to see the camera view on your smart phone attached to the controller. And just for comparison - how far from your mobile only can you control it.
I hope they add some Neo features to the Avata 2, like using the RC2 controller to fly it like a normal dji drone. Sometimes i dont want to wear the goggles.
Thanks for the video support your like a drone big brother lol. As a novice and only using DJI software is there an easy AI drop your clip and photo movie maker for beginners? Also if you clip edit a shot on iPhone it’s unusable in DJI clip maker? Have you done a movie maker one yet? Thanks bro
HELLO , Luv your contents, i have a question , if we are flying the neo with smartphone only, can we fly without the human subject, i mean for shooting cars and other objects?
Ofcouse you can, This DJI Neo actually designed for flying with or without any controllers, such as smartphone or DJI RC. Because it has many flying option buttons on its body (I remember 6 flying options), so you can fly it freely without the controller, but it must based on human subject tracking. This why, this Aircraft ( DJI mention their flying properties with "aircrafts" instead of drones) called V log Drone, because it is first time a DJI aircraft model can fly without controller. If you use controller, you can operate it normally like other DJI aircrafts and no need human subject tracking.
Been watching your videos lad some good stuff you must be from up the north coast I assume looking to get started with a drone do you have a form were I could pick your brains for info

Hey! When your phone is connected to the RCN3 controller, you can lock the exposure by pressing and holding on the screen. If that doesn't work, you can assign the exposure lock to the FN button in the settings menu under 'Control' and use that instead. Hope this helps!
Will I be able to hand launch and hand land the NEO if using controller to fly? Or switch to controller mode even after taking off with self flying mode?
Excellent video, as always, but one question: If I pair my RC2 controller with the Neo, when I finish flying it and want to go back to my Mini4 Pro, are the settings (gimbal speed, ISO, RTH altitude, etc) retained for that drone, even though I may have changed them while paired with the Neo?
So I have Mini 4 Pro and Neo. Usually I set my resolution to 1080p 60FPS, but every time I switch it to neo, It became 4K 30FPS automatically. I haven't checked other settings though
Pretty disappointing not being able to change the image sharpness with just the phone. The whole point of buying this for me was to not have to carry all the other gear like a controller, but not being able to control image quality without it is a dealbreaker.
So I have a question that hasn't even been asked yet out there (I think). I have both the Neo and the X1 (and a mini 4 pro) and I get the usage scenarios for each, believe me. But I find the Neo always being compared to the X1, and the X1 remains my goto "selfie (or group photo) drone". As far as stills are concerned (which is really what a selfie is), the X1 will take a still shot automatically when it's pointing at you and you (and your group) just remain still for a second. No gestures needed and certainly no manual phone action needed. I can't find where the Neo has something like this. Am I missing something?
Hello, can smart follow modes be used via remote control and phone? Or is it only used via button on drone? So can we use it via the phone we connect to the remote control like in the Mavic series?
Has ANYONE tested the Neo to see if it will follow a VEHICLE (car) at slow speeds? I’ve scoured TH-cam and can’t seem to find anything! I get mine on Thursday, so I guess I’ll find out sooner or later. Great video, as always. 🤜🏻🤛🏻
What is the Auto Pilot function you can preset on the Fn function button on the Radio controller? Is possible to fly by waypoints using Neo and RC? Haven't found not a line about it. Thank you!
Hi, hoping you can offer some help, and im sure that it will also help many other subs as well. I have a mini 4 pro here in England, I wish to travel to Spain but need an easy licence and so on. Im not sure what part of Ireland you are in, as you maybe in the eu still could you put up a link to your site to get the licence and app id. I have searched so much but have come away with nothing at all tbh. As a clearly top level Drone pilot with all the same kit as me, why is the RC2 not hitting the Avata 2 when a pocket change Neo can...I have a Mini 4, Avata 2 and Neo....tried all your tricks and the Neo still looks ahem...I have a 1ds mk 4 and sorry even you get a hue around you (moving subject) why is that, 4k 30....would the general user be better 1080p with all the options? Please feedback. 🙏
@TheDroneCreative yeah cheers mate it's the avatar 2 you have helped me with it love it I'm just starting to use it on my vlogs and thanks to you I've got a better understanding of the settings cheers marra
you can stop take off by shaking it. DJI neo cannot take off when there is movement in you palm/drone itself. so when i want cancle take off, i just tliting my palm or moving it,
No, you need the Goggles3 turned on because the connection from the MC3 to the Neo is done through the G3. However, you can fly the Neo VLOS looking at the drone and not to the G3 but the G3 has to be turned on to make the connection between the MC3 and the Neo.
I’m not buying it till you can reduce the sharpness . It’s a pure con on dji’s part to make you purchase a new controller . I’ve a controller for a mavic and a spark and don’t think they would work. Regardless great video and keep up the good work
That's a stupid decision not making the sharpness/NR a permanent setting. The lack of a flat or neutral profile in video and photo is ridiculous. The default profile limits considerably the editing.
I've noticed that the video quality looks slightly different when using the Neo on its own compared to when it's paired with the controller. It seems like the sharpness and saturation filters are more intense when using the Neo by itself.

Hi buddy. At 34:03 you mention pressung your phone screen to lock the exposure. Are you using IOS or ANDROID?. As on my android device it doesn't work. I appreciate your feedback before I contact Dji 👍
Hey! When your phone is connected to the RCN3 controller, you can lock the exposure by pressing and holding on the screen. If that doesn't work, you can assign the exposure lock to the FN button in the settings menu under 'Control' and use that instead. Hope this helps!
What if while the neo is following you then you’ve come across with random person will it still follow you or it might follow those random person?
Of course, it will always follow a good looking woman ! 🤣😂
Will I be able to hand launch and hand land the NEO if using controller to fly? Or switch to controller mode even after taking off with self flying mode?
what about the controller from DJI Mini 3 with the inbuilt screen[i have one] is it compatible?
No
Excellent video, as always, but one question: If I pair my RC2 controller with the Neo, when I finish flying it and want to go back to my Mini4 Pro, are the settings (gimbal speed, ISO, RTH altitude, etc) retained for that drone, even though I may have changed them while paired with the Neo?

hi, a technical question, can I use the electronics in the dji mini see the dji mini 2 mvh rune in advance thank you very much.
Great video, and nice locations 😊👏👏 where do you live? 🤔
Thank you. Northern Ireland!
Flashing & beeping can be engaged with the phone only mode. It's in the Profile under Find my drone!
Ur video are the most informative
Hi bro, how can I change height or take it to a higher Altitude in 360 circle mode??? The default height on circle mode is too low
Yes, you can do it with your smartphone via DJI Apps
What happens if during follow mode someone else gets in the scene? Could neo follow someone else?
Pretty disappointing not being able to change the image sharpness with just the phone. The whole point of buying this for me was to not have to carry all the other gear like a controller, but not being able to control image quality without it is a dealbreaker.
I completely agree! I can definitely see DJI adding this feature to the app soon - there's really no reason not to!

Hello, can smart follow modes be used via remote control and phone? Or is it only used via button on drone?
So can we use it via the phone we connect to the remote control like in the Mavic series?
Either you flying with its physical button, Smartphone or DJI RC, the all flying modes can be used.
Has ANYONE tested the Neo to see if it will follow a VEHICLE (car) at slow speeds? I’ve scoured TH-cam and can’t seem to find anything! I get mine on Thursday, so I guess I’ll find out sooner or later. Great video, as always. 🤜🏻🤛🏻

No waypoints using Neo...

Da deeehjeeeyyeyeeenehooo...Rejuicing sharpness... lol! Love it!! Hahaha ...thanks for the tips great stuff 👍
Brilliant advice on these drones marra good stuff
Glad I could help! Thanks for watching!
@TheDroneCreative yeah cheers mate it's the avatar 2 you have helped me with it love it I'm just starting to use it on my vlogs and thanks to you I've got a better understanding of the settings cheers marra
How does neo perform with multiple people around in tracking subject
It needs to see the handler before it takes off, the camera looking towards you, it doesn’t get confused with bystanders…
If you fly whit your phone you hafe distance limit if you walk towards the drone can you fly forward again richt i want to know this
you can stop take off by shaking it. DJI neo cannot take off when there is movement in you palm/drone itself. so when i want cancle take off, i just tliting my palm or moving it,
This is actually a great tip, thanks for sharing!
Are you able to use the motion controller 3 without the goggles?
No, you need the Goggles3 turned on because the connection from the MC3 to the Neo is done through the G3.
However, you can fly the Neo VLOS looking at the drone and not to the G3 but the G3 has to be turned on to make the connection between the MC3 and the Neo.
great video thank you!
Thank you!
Thank you 😊
You're welcome!
Thanks!
Thank you so much!
Good tips
Thank you!
Why can’t I see the style option and sharpness setting under White Balance on my RC N3 with firmware up to date ?
Is your DJI Fly app also up to date?
@@TheDroneCreative Yes everything up to date. 1.142 and 01.00.0200
I’m not buying it till you can reduce the sharpness . It’s a pure con on dji’s part to make you purchase a new controller .
I’ve a controller for a mavic and a spark and don’t think they would work. Regardless great video and keep up the good work
The app won't work on my phone ,is it my phone
Is it possible to take neo off from the ground and not the palm ?
Yes, but only if using it paired with a smartphone or controller!
Why no one is talking about the acro mode with the goggles?
In a couple years, I bet drones will be "smart" enough to figure out they are above water and land on the closest piece of land.
Why can't they give 2.7k 60 fps.
The main reason is 30fps for choppy video
Which is why the literally tell u not to fly it over water!- because if u lose connection over water, you are borked 😂
Yep, you would need to get in and start swimming ha.
@@TheDroneCreative I really don't understand what is in their heads to do that
that sucks ... settings should be set in the drone and not the controller
🇩🇰🇩🇰tak for god info🙏🇩🇰🇩🇰
👍🏻
No one mentions the annoyance of the blasting whiny noise of the Neo in flight.
Great channel! Thanks for another 'vadeo' 😉
haha, you are welcome!
Awesome tips, thank you
You're so welcome!
How do you get the green tracking square activated? Will it happen automaticly or necessary by hand (finger on screen)?
