The top-rated Ozark Trai D2 G10 Orange BM knife is back in stock and has some interesting differences. In this video, we compare the OLD Ozark Trail Knife versus the New Ozark Trail Knife.
My forst had terrible QC issues and omega spring broke in first minute out of the box. Got more in stock on the website and ordered four more to get free shipping this last week. First one was much better, and second was flawless action! I bet they smoothed up the quality issues
@@3rdpig Dang! I guess Ozark Trail wasn’t ready for the amount of demand these knives have. Maybe they’ll run out of the first version and just have the second version soon. 🧐👍
Very Nice! The orange ones are available in my area, green and black show sold out. Makes me wonder if they are really available, or just a place holder on the web site. 🧐
Got 4 of um when they came back in stock on walmarts web site a few days ago. They deliver tomorrow. Hope the are good quality. Cool to see the updated reversible belt clip.
I'm not finding it online. Can you give a stock number, model number or UPC code that might help me find one. Would love to be able to switch the clip. Thanks in advance
Nice review, thanks for the updated info! If you call the originals Mark 1, and the ones you got with the reversible pocket clip Mark 2, then I've got a couple of Mark 1s and a couple of Mark 1.5s. The second ones I bought had the new color (consistently brighter, not one-side-one-color-other-side-a-different-color like the Mark 1s I got. The handle also definitely feels more grippy, and since I've only used one of the Mark 1s for EDC, the other Mark 1 and the Mark 1.5s should have the same amount of wear, but the 1.5s definitely don't feel the same. However, the 1.5s DON'T have the reversible pocket-clip cutout in the handle - still only one way to carry the knife. I guess they've been making gradual improvements and releasing them as they got a bunch to sell, so there are going to be slight differences in exactly what you might get - I'd guess the color differences and grippiness of the handles were a relatively easy thing to fix. And, of course, it's still marked as "out of stock" on the web site!
I have one of the early ones and one side of the handle is a brighter orange than the other side looks like it faded lol but it came that way.i have two of them on order and two of the white ones on order 😊
Do they cost the same as the original? I don't think you said. As a lefty I like the reversible clip. Although as a firearms carrier, I rarely switch the clip. You should always carry your firearm on your strong hand side & then carry your knife on your weak hand side when carrying a firearm. If you can't get your firearm out for whatever reason, you'll be able to get your knife out from your weak hand side.
@CheapGeek For some reason the original Orange one reminds me of the 1970's a nice retro vibe! I picked up 2 today and one of the new blaze orange ones. Might have to snag up the rest of the originals I'm thinking after seeing them in person.
The QC on the blade heat treat is also a lot different. I ton f people are getting really bad blades on the new batch, that dulls very quickly. Still probably D2, but D2 with a bad heat treat is basically useless.
The D2 is a welcome improvement over their cheaper steel versions. If you want a light duty knife that's fun to fidget this is a no-brainer. But sadly I fidget so much I end up breaking the Omega springs on all Omega spring models. Lol .. I need to get a dedicated fidget toy. Appreciate the video and update!
I have 3 Walmarts in my area, I bought two knives through the app a couple months ago when they were available and just purchased another one on the app tonight seeing it was the last one in all 3 stores hoping it was the reversible pocket clip version. Nope...oh well, at this pice I can can keep buying them until I get a reversible one! 😂🤞

I was able to get one a few months ago; mine is just like your older one. I describe it to people as a good $10 knife. Keep expectations realistic, though! If you’re expecting it to be a good $100 knife for $10, you’re going to be disappointed.
With the amount of videos about this knife, Walmart should have charged 100 for it. I ordered the new version and when I saw the reversible clip option, I passed out. It's a 10 dollar knife. There will be thousands of videos comparing the orange one to the new white 5 dollar one. I'm 61 on disability and bored. Go and look at the thousands of videos about a 10 dollar knife.
I’ve been Walmart.com and searching Ozark Trail D2 knife and seeing if they were available locally in stores or shipping. Your location determines availability?
I bought two of them last week. One was the display. They’re still hard to find at a Walmart and selling for $22-$25 on eBay currently. No wonder they’re hard to find.
I've heard the new "d2" steel is basically junk. Can't cut very much before it's not a knife any longer. They are going to be in stores now because rumors are spreading that they are not worth it anymore.
@@CheapGeek He posted another update recently. I think his had a severely burnt edge? It tested 59-60 hrc everywhere except for the edge, which is too thin to test. Once he ground away half the knife and reprofiled, it performed normally.

Really?!? Now I'm excited about getting my new one. I had one break on me and had 2 originally. Reordered one cheers.
Just bought one and it's the old design still. Wonder if they have different factories producing these.
Maybe? It’s hard to say. It might be because of location? Newer version’s to places that sold more knives? Who knows with Walmarts.
Dang I saw it in stock and figured it was the one I already had. Outta stock here now, but wish I picked it up
the first batch of them had color variations as well that is not a new development , nice that they added a reversible pocket clip.
