What if you communicate to him nicely but when you do he starts attacking you saying all your mistakes and faults and saying what you should change.. do you just leave when there is no time for mature conversations where the other person can meet your needs or requests too/being polite/ not rigid

Its never too late🙂. Next time he speaks in a way you don't like, just gather the courage and tell him there and then. If he reacts negatively, then make a decision. Don't let him disrespect you.
