Hi from Michigan • Flying Pilgrims RC Club - have this radio, second summer flying the Cessna 150T - Every step in this video worked as described - It solved the ballooning issue with the flaps and they also go down slow, like a real airplane. 👍 Thanks ✈
Super job. Make more soon. Just finalizing Hangar 9 P-51 build with full Spektrum. Avian 100a, Power 52, AR637T, HV Digital standard servos, flaps, Smart battery, and wireless remote receiver, Xoar e-14-6 and 13-8. The Spektrum videos have been an indispensable complement. A total package. Thank you a ton.
VERY informative ! Ive owned a 6e for several years now and have been somewhat hesitant to dive into it - your instruction has inspired me to finally bind it up.
@@SpektrumRCvideos When I purchased my DX6e a few years ago I also bought several receivers - they are 610s but they have different numbers - is there a difference and are they all compatible ? I sure wish there was a concise TH-cam video on setting up a plane step by step - Im not real anxious to learn I didnt something wrong with a $400 airplane.
Thanks. Very helpful. Please advise how I configure my flaps to work synchronously down together. Presently they are operating like ailerons when I operate switch D.
Hi, brilliant tutorial, very clear. Do you know why my flap servos aren’t slowing down but the elevator servo is when I change the speed setting in the flap system menu? Thanks
The flap>elevator mix isn’t to prevent ballooning. Your plane balloons because you were going too fast when you lowered the flaps. The flap>elevator mix should be used to set the glide speed/descent rate at idle so that your plane will glide without stalling or descending too steeply.
How do you adjust the throw on a two servo flap system. When using a three position switch on of the flaps has more throw than the other? The both start at zero throw. Thanks for your help. I’m using an ix20 radio
Great to listen to someone who knows what they're talking about. I wonder if you could post something on the carbon cub s on how to remove the GPS out of the model. Thanks keep it going.
Very nice presentation. Well explained. It made it easier with the NX8 I just purchased. Do you have any videos on how to set up throttle curves. That would be very helpful. Thank you!
Well done Tom. Thanks. Regarding using Flight Modes to enable elevator trim, does your example allow separate trim settings for mid flaps and full flaps?
Just a quick question! Does the plane have to be bound up to the nx8 transmitter to set the safe select and the flaps switches? I'm new at this and I just can't get it to work for me whether I use new plane or bnf which my new planes are bnf . Tt evolution and the valiant please answer thank you Marty from Canada 🇨🇦 🛩
I have a UMX turbo Timber I get the Flap to elevator trim set up AS3X off then when I turn AS3X back on with flaps things get wonky do you have any recommendations. Thanks Rock
Have a Bird of Time glider w/Electric motor. I have installed spoilers on top of the wing. Am I correct i can use the above same method as for spoilers? Any other adjustments? Thank yo
Being a total beginner with DX6 I’d like a detailed video on the “F” mode you briefly hit on, is there a more beginner based tutorial on the “F” mode setups? Thanks.
There are many videos that we have produced and others that mention using the Flight mode menu but we have not done a dedicated flight mode video. Is a great idea but really the function is very broad and can be used for a large number of different functions and effects. So it might be a pretty long video ;)
It is positive when giving down elevator. When the stick is pushed forward that is technically positive pitch movement. Now this number will be different on the monitor screen depending on the reverse direction of the servo. Great question :)
I am adding flaps to my Carbon Cub S 2 and couldn’t find the pre-done program on your website, I tried using the S+ and had to add flaps into the program for it and used Switch D and my elevator compensation kicks in but the flap servo does not move. I tried using the Carbon Z Cub program since it already has flaps installed and that doesn’t work either, I don’t know what to do or how to do it at this point.
Totally unrelated but do you Tx allow to by-pass the 100ft switch to beginner mode from intermediate mode on the Apprentice STS? If not, do you know if that is even possible?
These tutorials are awesome thank you. I'm having an issue whenever I choose a different model on my NX10 lately the flap settings are backwards..not reversed in servo reversing they are backwards to the switch position..if I do reverse the switch that overdrives the servo badly, I have to redo the entire 1 and 3 position settings. The middle settings are correct. I dont' know what is causing this to happen but it really causes alot of frustration going out to the field and having to retrim my flap settings. Could this possibly happen after accidently changing stick modes? sometimes apon changing brightness I accidently hit the mode menu and end up switching off the TX and recalibrating after that. Thanks and Merry Christmas.
Hi Aaron, Changing the mode should not have done that, the only thing that comes to mind is that if you changed the servo to a different servo it could do this.
I was setting my flaps up and just wondered why that when you set position 0 to -100 it says -102% on the monitor display and the same with 100 showing 102% on the monitor display when 0 shows 0 . Many thanks 👍🏻
Why does my DX6e monitor screen look different than yours (update 2.08)? Yours shows 6 channels and mine shows what appears to be 7 channels THR AIL ELE RUD FLP GER AX2 (I'm confused).
There is an error in the current 6-channel transmitters that the radio shows a 7th channel on the display. This will be fixed in v2.09, which should be out in the next few weeks. You still have a 6-channel transmitter. To configure channels 1-3, use the top row. Channels 4-6 are on the bottom row. Position the cursor by counting and you will be fine.
What if in my original set was backwards such as my normal was at number 2 and not zero. What I did is I set up backwards. How do get it to zero for a normal set up. Also my 2 second delay did not function how do I trouble shoot that?
If that is the case, then reversing the flap channel should fix it. Just be ready to adjust travel positions if there is any binding in the control surfaces
Wood this apply for a DXs transmitter bc my flaps are not working with a switch and its the last thing i need to bind on my bnf valiant can someone help me thanks
Normally that is caused by the Flap channel being mixed to another channel to mirror the flap outputs. How are your flaps setup? What is the wing type set to?
Why not just set up 3 flight modes and use the trim section as f mode and when you change flight mode you can trim the elevator and stay set for that particular mode. Way easier
Background music helps cover up imperfections in the audio and background noise. It is just your standard copyright free tune, personally I think it fits ;)

Is their a video on how to do this in sailplane mode? Using the throttle stick.

@@SpektrumRCvideos the F mode tutorial on trimming the flap/elevator mix was very informative - that alone will save me a lot of time.
shouldn't the elevator trim have been negative?(down elevator when the flaps are engaged)
It is positive when giving down elevator. When the stick is pushed forward that is technically positive pitch movement. Now this number will be different on the monitor screen depending on the reverse direction of the servo. Great question :)

Thanks, but I have a F-16 that has slats and I need know how to set the slats with ailerons and elevators for landing, on a ix12 radio ????
Yeah, too many basic tutorials and not much in the complex area. The manual is useless

TH-cam has a button to go to half time. Use it rather than tell people to slow down just because you're less advanced in an area.
