It happened pretty quickly: here are two repositories for light shows for your Tesla! And one even has Knight Rider theme on it :D console.la/lightshow/ teslalight.show Have fun with these, and be sure to send videos of your car dancing to the music!
Hello, thank you very much for showing us how to do this. My only criticism is that you should maybe practice before hand and try to think of a more efficient way to give us a tutorial. Maybe there is a way to explain this in half the time, maybe 20 min?
Ok I have to say that this is the most painfully tedious upload you have done. Please consider this as constructive criticism- love your channel - you admitted that this was only your 2nd attempt- so in an effort to rush this to TH-cam , personally I think you could have taken an extra day or so to polish this up so it’s not as confusing. Cheers
I finally created my own. Took a while. Biggest problem is xLight's graphical performance. It sucks pretty bad. Try clicking on an event or select group of events and using the arrow keys. Each shift is 20ms, but takes forever to move and update display. Deleting stuff takes forever as well. One light show is enough for me.
You can also use the timing tracks to add repeating time marks, right click where it says new timing and can select 50ms, 100ms, or with metronome you can set your own timing mark interval. There is also a plugin called Queen Mary Vamp plugin that will read the music and set the marks based on the beats. He mentioned in the tutorial that the ON effect didn't snap, but with these marks, they will fill the space between the marks, then you can adjust the length manually. That will fix that complaint.
So I've got a download on both my phone and a XFat formatted usb drive. Folder & show are named LightShow accordingly. No other folders or files. If I plug the drive into Glovebox, it sees nothing! If I plug my phone into usb-c I do get the Select Custom LightShow, but it does not find one. Any help would be great!
I congratulate the friends who wrote this software, a software could only be so difficult. it is not clear whether we are preparing a light show or splitting the atom.
This seems terribly complicated. I just want to add my own song, not take a course on computer programming or whatever. Good grief. Can't someone make an application where I simply add the song and the app makes it a light show?
A friend downloaded some shows for me since I'm computer illiterate. The first one worked fine but now the Custom Light Show does not appear. Even the one I tried first no longer works Any suggestions for an old man but Tesla lover
I finally was able to download my light show. However, i wanted to make my own light show. Your video is confusing, you talk a lot and giggle or laugh on the side, making me put on the side track.
I'm having trouble figuring what front lights work on a M3 SR+. Can you delete lights and closures from the list? There are too many to have up on the screen at one time.
I found some shows that others made and put them on a drive, but I can't get the car to recognize it. I formatted the drive, only have the folder, LightShow, and only have the two files inside the folder. Any ideas?
Wow super hard UI, but someone out there please just take the existing songs and add the falcon wing doors and or front doors opening with all the existing songs the model X just is wasted potential atm
@@bluetoad2668 It might be because Telsa hasn't rolled out V11 of the UI yet to the older model S's. Maybe when it rolls out there will be support for the those models?
Any pro of xLights here? I give up. My laptop is to lame for doing a own show. Anyone who can give tip to a person who can do a lightshow for my favorite tune. I will donate of course
This video it is in my opinion not your best. You spend a lot of time apologizing for your lack of knowledge. I would think that if you had spent that time preparing yourself, then it would be quite good video. I usually thought your approach is quite good and you seem very credible which appeals to me, but I also do not want to waste my time listening and seeing some unprepared actions. Forgive me the criticism.
Hello Dr, Thank you for the video. I was able to create my own lightshow but have two questions. 1. The custom light show fails to load because it's too large. So how do I cut it short to a minute? 2. Do i have to place .fseq and also the song .mp3 file in the flash drive for the light show to work? Thank you
OMG. what a mess, (lightX) and this tutorial is vastly outdated 😕i cant get it to work at all with windows well i cant see the car no 3d button 🤯 and sequence window is just black. so sadly no custom show 😢
Well, that was easy. … Not. …. I guess the light show that’s packages will have to do for me, thanks. With all that I’m mind, can yo imagine what is going on in the processor as you drive in FSD mode?
Dr KnowitAll, have you figured out what the f in fseq means yet? You said you didn’t know, but your supposed to know all! JK Thanks for doing this video!!! Happy New Year!!!
pretty sure it stands for Falcon, as those files are used by the Falcon Pi Player to play actual light shows from a raspberry pi. The original writer of the player also makes Falcon controllers to control light strings.
No offence but it was frustrating to get through the video. Constantly getting off topic and talking about unrelated things drew out the otherwise 10 minute video into a 30 minute one. I eventually got what I needed, but it could have been a lot more professional and easier on everyone if you had just stayed on topic. I don't mean any offence by this; I'm just saying it was frustrating.
I’ve got started on making one with “Smoke on the water” Deep Purple Live version which should be a great show when its done. I could be gone some time making it … Only problem is I’m going to be sick of the song by the time I’ve finished the lights setup. No, only kidding, I could never get fed up with that one.
Thanks for the tutorial, but please stay on topic and focused. You keep jumping all around with different things that aren't related to the tutorial. It doesn't need to be over a half hour long. Maybe create a condensed version that isn't so conversational. I'm assuming people clicking on this video that aren't normal subscribers are looking for a quick and concise answer.
So I can't have a custom light show AND dash cam footage on the same USB? That sucks. Anyone try creating both folders to see what happens? (Car explodes?) I need to try it or look it up on line I guess. Still working on a light show.. Thx.
@@jessepham710 I don't think so. What I do now: Format USB, create LightShow only folder, put in car. Play light show. When done, format USB from inside the car so Dashcam works again. I'm guessing Tesla doesn't want Dashcam AND light show apps doing stuff at the same time. Maybe light show performance would be effected. Update: I verified you cannot load a light show with dashcam data present. One or the other.
@@tfragia1 Mmm I just tried it myself. I am able to partition my single USB into two separate memory partitions, one for LightShow and one for Dashcam. It works fine for me.

Not really much of a "how to" video as it is a "hey let me try to figure this out and read the instructions to you" video.

I congratulate the friends who wrote this software, a software could only be so difficult. it is not clear whether we are preparing a light show or splitting the atom.
One thing I found that helps to speed things up tremendously is to manually edit the xsq file. You need to be careful and have a backup file.

Is there a way to create these light shows on a iOS device????
