Exactly. Years ago Silicon Valley startups began with the cumbersome word "DISINTERMEDIATION" -- to remove all middle-level management or go-between processes. In essence, disintermediation was "companies taking a key category of US or citizen commerce, and in one fell swoop, bust out the multi-layered standard hierarchical models we've used for hundreds of years", and design new direct-access methods that removed the tons of inefficiency in 20th century standard processes that used too-many-layered hierarchies just to get a simple task accomplished. The word "disintermediation" fell out of vogue in the mid-to-late 2000's, replaced by the more accessible term "disrupt". He’s got this quiet confidence that makes me feel more relaxed with the idea of someone like him in a position of authority. More politicians should act like that. In today’s climate I think it actually cuts through the noise better than raging about things.

In the EU if your flight is delayed for more than 3 hours iirc they are required to pay you compensation from 250€ up to like 600€. This is not a refund, this is an extra compensation. They are also required to give you a direct refund if you choose to cancel your flight and they are also required to pay for your food and stay for the duration of the delay.

If a teacher locks a student in a room, for even a minute it's illegal. When an airline locks you in a plane for 4 hours while knowing they're not going anywhere, it's fine. If a plane doesn't take off in 15 minutes from closing the door or let you off the plane in 30 minutes, they should give you the flight free.

The US needs to implement a law like EU261 immediately. It gives travelers way more. The airlines will say this will raise prices, but flying in Europe is substantially cheaper than in the US.

These technology systems and software are used by air carriers for operational management, including for crew planning and communication, building flight schedules, and making changes to flight paths". agreed, but for what its worth, Pete isn't elected to his current post, as a Cabinet Secretary he was appointed by the president and confirmed by the Senate.
I'd love for him to be Kamala's VP pick. he is the most well spoken person in politics today.
@@chernobyl68I wish that too! But sadly, America is so behind in thinking. He’s not only capable, but extremely intelligent
Republican politicians are paid to cater to corporations. Average Americans are worthless outside of their vote. :/

These laws should be posted in LARGE print at all airports so everyone can see them.
like minimum wage laws!
I don't even travel, but I really like listening to Pete talk.
We are so lucky to have Pete!!
I love him!
I would love to see more of Pete doing this. It gives me hope the government is FOR THE PEOPLE. PETE 2028!
Heck, Harris-Buttigieg 2024
They’re young enough that Kamala can do 8 yrs and then Pete’s turn with maybe her as VP? Lol
Yes. This man in the Oval Office.
We love you, Pete Buttigieg. You speak your mind. The opposition should fear any moment in which you speak or respond to MAGA.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Nobody "fears" this ridiculous Booty Judge clown
I wouldn't even say that speaking his mind is the value here. Anyone can speak their mind, and many of them shouldn't. The point with Pete is that he does his homework and explains his points clearly, and with verifiable facts. You can see there's no 'spin'. No one has to be afraid of facts, but they should certainly fear hiding behind the slogans and smear campaigns, and whatever it is they use in place of logic these days.
Only cowards delete comments. You Leftists are cowards, who cant defend your position, so you resort to taking the cowards way out and simply have the comment deleted
Sec. Pete. What would be incredibly valuable is to have a summary page on this site regarding issues such as these that can be downloaded. In your faces airlines!
Pete is quickly becoming a modern day super hero.
I know a fair amount of Republicans who genuinely like Pete. They think he’s smart, personable, and a good person overall
He was phenomenal in his debates on Fox News a few years back, he won over many of the viewers
It's REALLY hard not to like him. He's a patriot, a veteran, a public servant, he's brilliant, funny, charming, chill, empathetic, and smarter than anyone in the room.
But he is simply gay, so people will hate him completely for that.
He is a fantastic representative for all Americans. He got a standing ovation by Fox News last election cycle.
Pete would be a fantastic VP, or Kelly!
@kuidaorekitchen5850 who cares if he's gay
@@kathyhuse9743 Some people do! Do they think Gay people just obsess about being Gay 24/7? Do Straight people think about their Sexuality 24/7?
Keep this man in office at all costs.
If he doesn't get the VP, he should remain on the seat... Imagine the damage he could do with 2 Harris terms...

Really refreshing to see that most of these didn't surprise him because they were _already_ investigating/looking into these situations. Love the guy
I simply adore this man! 👍🏾
He's a w I M P... he does nothing until a couple of months before election???
I want him as Harris' VP!
A Harris/Buttigieg ticket would be unbelievably inspiring on so many levels. Pick Pete and let him loose to do his thing across the country. Mayor Secretary Pete is the real deal. 🤞🏼 🙏🏼
Who else is bingeing Pete Buttigieg videos rn lol.
There’s something very comforting about him, I don’t know what it is. Maybe it’s how calm and straightforward he is while everyone else is screaming to get attention. He’s got this quiet confidence that makes me feel more relaxed with the idea of someone like him in a position of authority. More politicians should act like that. In today’s climate I think it actually cuts through the noise better than raging about things.
@@lowkeyproductions6681calm, intelligent, and stands his ground when needed
@@lowkeyproductions6681 he's talking like a normal and sane person. something we rarely see in today's political climate.
Mayor Pete was the first candidate I ever campaigned for.
I just hope he gets a vp nod. Probably too optimistic though.
I was watching Pete on Bill Maher and the man is a genius. Literally, not figuratively. I know he was a Rhodes scholar and that already says a lot. Anyways, he did something with that interview, its hard to explain, watch it because the way he was able to bring it back to his message was a thing of beauty. I've seen so many interviews and his skill to be able to do what he did was remarkable. Seriously, watch it and see if you can spot what I mean. You kind of have to see it to get it and even then I don't know that many people would notice.
Just listen to how he speaks, he's not on a script and the words flow smoothly and eloquently, usung easy to understand language. He sounds confident in his knowledge and he's not talking down to anyone. Makes a viewer feel confident of good results if he's in the room.
Is he old enough to be VP ?
He was old enough to run for President in the 2020 Democratic primary, so yes he’s qualified for VP as well.
@@trevinbeattie4888 Pssst,... It, was, a joke,....
This is how Government representatives should work!
Mayor Secretary Pete makes my whole heart smile ☺️
Imagine you have a high speed rail instead of airline
Talk about a cluster fuch!!
The one positive with trains over planes is passengers hauled!
I live in St. Louis mo, lambert field handles 256 departures a day. My yard backs up to RR tracks. I wouldn’t appreciate the added traffic.
They’d still have delays and layovers, cancelled trips, and lost bags.
You think the government that can barely upkeep asphalt is going to miraculously managing high speed rail lines?
@@jzmina it would be a situation of a for profit company running the show, and being guaranteed a negotiated profit margin.
Are you aware that US coast to coast is 5000 km ? ... Most of that is sparsely populated, with a few cities here and there. It would be the equivalent of putting a rail line between Paris and Teheran.
@@conman7644 A few short ones could work, I mean Boston to New York for example but full coverage to/from all major cities isn't practical. China has a bunch of long distance high speed rail lines but they are propaganda tools and their financial details are all fictional, so it's unlikely that it was or continues to be economically viable, they're also broken down and closed almost 50% of the time, so not a model to emulate.
Pete has the most respect from me. This is the kind of people i want running my country!
I work as a regional flight attendant and I had Pete on my flight to Traverse City a few years back. Would you believe that he bought an economy ticket! That says to me that he knows first hand how crazy public air travel can be. He was so polite too. He asked if there would be coffee on the flight, and even though I normally wouldn't make coffee on a flight so short, I was so quick to say yes sir and get him a cup. His two bodyguards were so huge, they had to bend in half to walk down the aisle on the tiny CRJ200. I wanted a picture with Pete, but I was instructed not to call attention to him. Besides, he slept the whole flight 😂
Yet another reason why I love Pete Buttigieg!! Thank you Mayor Pete!
This is amazing! Kamala, please implement this kind of thing as a regular feature of your administration! 💙
You are amazing Pete! VP now and President soon!!!
Awesome Pete! I think it’s great that you are listening to the passengers’ grievances. Hope you’ll do more of these.
I love how, by the end, you can see him going "oh man we are DEFINITELY missing things in our investigation. What the actual HELL???"
I'd love to see him as president some day. He is the first presidential campaign I ever donated to. That's how much I believe in him.
Awesome example of how government should actually work! Thank you Mr. Buttigieg, I love your easy rapport with the public and your information transparency during crisis events. 💙
Imagine if everyone just DID their job! Harris/Buttigieg 2024.

This is why voting blue for president is so important. Biden / Kamala appoint qualified people to these positions who actually try to make life better for everyone.

Thank you Pete for working so competently for the American people, we need more like you, thank you
Pete you need to be the VP.
Pete for VP!

He might be the best man for the job, but I think it needs to be Mark Kelley. Pete Buttigieg for SecState isn't exactly a consolation prize for anyone.
@@pigs18 He only needs experience, he has all the rest. Yeah, maybe a nice Senate seat for 6 years? In 8, he would make a great POTUS.
So glad Pete is heading DOT these days. However with all these airline & weather problems, makes a strong argument for more high speed rail in the US.
Ask former governor of Texas Rick Perry about any rail in Houston. He IS the reason why hurricane Harvey destroyed Houston in 2017. He destroyed the rail years before and refused to take the advice of engineering to redesign the roads to accommodate future flooding.
Definitely something more dems should campaign on
Thanks Pete. Well done.
This is the kind of elected official one needs in government. someone who is trying to make things better for the average person...Props to this gentleman!!

The airlines will say this will raise prices, but flying in Europe is substantially cheaper than in the US.
they can also pass laws or add provision that dont allow airlines to spread the costs to customers.
Sadly, You’ll have a certain group of Americans screaming about capitalism being threatened when anything like that comes up. It’s only about the business and not the consumer.
@@InnerGiggles The US is populated with too many people willing to vote against their own interests for the sake of an idiotic right wing talking point.

"I'm on this Boeing flight and the door came off mid-takeoff AGAIN. Like, ugh."
Rep Katie Porter proposed a bill "Flightmare Act". "This bill requires the Federal Aviation Administration to establish minimum requirements for aviation enterprise resource planning systems that are used by domestic air carriers and necessary for passenger safety. These technology systems and software are used by air carriers for operational management, including for crew planning and communication, building flight schedules, and making changes to flight paths". Porter said that nobody should be stuck in airports for days. They have to give you alternatives which means even booking you for other airlines. Giving customers more flexibility.
Except that system would have also crashed.
