  • I have a 2014 camaro LT, that has been having radio issues. Went online and saw that if you snipped the white communication wire it would fix it. Well, mine didn’t. And it’s still having issues. Any help would be amazing!

    2015 Camaro. Radio was out, door chime not working. I cut the white wire. After that you need to go to the trunk battery under the spare tire and take off the negative cable for 5-10 minutes to reset the electrical computer. Now everything is working fine!

    I tried all the tricks everyone suggests, cut white wire, contact dealer, contact gm, stand on my head, hold my tongue just right. after many hours on the phone with Gm. none of that worked. on principal I didnt want to pay Gm to fix something they should have recalled and fixed free. I bought an aftermarket stereo and faceplate. works great now. and i have a rear camera and other features. less than what gm wanted to fix something that should have been warranteed.

      I have same Camaro with exact problem. I'd rather get an aftermarket radio as well. What kind did you get and how much did it cost to install?

      After you cut the white wire did you reset the computer? In the trunk take off the negative battery cable for 5-10 minutes. It worked for me!

      Yeah, 2014 LS with manual, The radio system itself has a major flaw/defect and not the interlock. I am reluctant to cut any wires as if I would that might defeat something else maybe not crucial to normal driving but I have been going like this for well over a year and it seems to get worse. The most annoying part is when I shift gears and at different speeds it will flicker on and off and "pop" or make a loud jarring static sound as if something coming through the speakers is not grounded or is if two stereo speaker wires are touching and a loud bass rumble distorted effect will make passengers jump, I guess I am used to it, but it is very annoying. I am not about to buy another radio because I can do without, for now I unless I decide to sell her ( she's just rolled 60k Mi I have taken very good care of her) I just want the stupid light show. booms. snaps and pops to stop!

    Have same issue with my 2015. With all the head units that have failed it would have been prudent for GM to do a recall. They have the dough… OURS!😂

    I have a 2015 Chevy Camaro LT and the radio is possessed along with Ac lights, blinkers not making any sound. I took it to the dealership they said I needed to replace the radio. I took it to another dealership they said the BCM was bad. Bottom line I replace the BCM the problem is still there so the only fix for it is to replace the radio and that will resolve issue. I don't know if your car is doing the anti-theft deterrent flashing as well but it's all connected to the radio. Good luck

    I was having the same problem with the radio on my wife's 2015 Camaro. The radio just quit completely. There was just a blank screen, no sound, nothing. I read some other comments here and saw that people were cutting the white wire on the left of the harness and getting good results. I wasn't comfortable cutting wires so I decided to try resetting the cars computer instead to see if that worked. All you have to do to reset it is disconnect the battery cable, negative is best, and leave it disconnected for about 15 mins or so and then hook it back up. BINGO, turned the key back on the and radio works fine now. Also, when I turned the key back on, I got a message to open and close the drivers side door. After I did that, I shut it all down and tried it again to make sure the radio was still working and I got a second message to roll down and back up the drivers side window. I know, I know, I was laughing too, but after that I shut everything down and tried it again and everything is all back to normal again. It has been working for over 5 months now without any problems.

    This issue is NOT related to any wires or fuses. The problem is 💯 the radio receiver! I bought and installed a refurbished receiver ($145) then took it to the dealership to be synced with my VIN ($125). Problem solved! Thanks for posting video and fix 🙂

    I was having a similar issue. Radio sound would go off sometimes with the screen on sometimes the screen was blank. Convertible top would stop opening / closing. Had a bunch of service "xxx" (airbags, TPMs, theft deterrent etc.) warnings come on. Right tail light would have issues. Turn signals would turn on but not make the noise. Many things seemed to be right side of the car related. And many other things. $800 later it's fixed. Something to do with grounding a wire in the rear trunk / quarter panel area. Hope this helps. Dealerships are a rip off.

    Okay guys listen up in my car it started doing the same thing now its a 2015 LS and i was thinking in replacing the radio unit but even after thinking of it i noticed that sometimes even the turn signals werent working like they should sometimes you would hear sounds even after i had the radio disconnected for a whole day so that just told me replacing the radio unit would not solve all the problems. 1. I took it to an electrician automobil and the guy diagnosed it to be the Body Control Module. He said if i replaced the radio unit the problem would solve since they will be connection it straight to the battery so no more cutting off or misising out on your music since it will be after market. 2. If i wanted to keep my stock radio i would need to fix the body control module and from his estimate this would cost nearly $300 to $400 and it would fix all the issues he said its not the radio thats bad its actually what sends out the signal and power to the car which is the (BCM) Body Control Module.

    @grandillusion4258 ปีที่แล้ว

    ummm.... that's because that little ole white wire in pretty important. The white wire is the GM-LAN communications between the radio and the radio/climate control head. You're not going to fix it without an understanding of the vehicle LAN system, a schematic and an oscilloscope to see what is happening to the CAN signal. I think you'll find a loose or corroded wire of connector contact, a cold solder joint on the CAN terminating resistors or some other module is dragging down the CANBUS. There are a variety of videos that explain the GM-LAN system. I would focus on the Head, the Radio and the Body Control Module first. At any point between the GM-LAN wires you should measure 120 Ohms. If the value is higher you probably have an open line or corroded contact. If it is 60 Ohms, you probably have a broken wire or a bad terminating resistor in one of the modules. Either way, with a little electronics experience, you should be capable of fixing it for free.
