I’m 15 years old I have my papaws 77 c10 stepside that me and him was fixing up unfortunately we didn’t get it finished he passed away 5 months ago he was like a farther to me considering I lived with him and my mamaw anyways now me and my brother working on it slowly need panels and paint and new interior and some odds and ins can’t wait for it to be finished

Cool video, reminds me of my dad's old 83 three-quarter ton Chevy, rode around in it all the time as a kid, ended up being the first vehicle I drove a stick on, sounded a lot like your 87, tho creeper gear on his truck was a lot lower!

I regret getting rid of it all the time but I hope to own a K10 in the future after I get my dream truck. Although I have a 2016 Volkswagen GTI now, I gotta say, it just wasnt as fun as a 2 wheel drive long bed truck in the New Hampshire winters haha. Loved this video.
'87 was the last year for the regular cab pickups "half tons & three quarter tons only" on those square bodies, but the one ton regular cab pickups on the other hand were still in production up through '89. Same with the crew cab pickups & SUVs except they stayed in production up through '91. '73 was the first year for the square bodies. In '81, the nose on the front & interior were redesigned to the styles on that K10 in the video.

Nothing more lack luster than the 1st to 2nd (not counting granny) shift on a sm465... i love them eiether way, ive turned more than 1 automatic k10 into a granny gear
I have an 86 K10 swapping the 305 with a 79 Cheyenne 350. Prob is issue removing the pilot bushing from the engine, weather, and the nearest town is an hr away. Hoping this wknd I’m able to make it into town before curfew, if not it’s gonna be online for most parts. Sub’d, cheers!
I bought a running driving 84 k10 and want to make it daily driver worthy. Be able to tow a double axle and trailer with my SxS on it, nothing too heavy. But I also have a 03 Sierra 4 door 4x4. I wonder if I’ll be making a mistake selling the 03 to make the 84 nice???
My k30 with all its rust has been very reliable. The engine starts in a blink of an eye. Not sure how it starts so quick having the mechanical pump. My new sienna takes forever to crank and my f250 work truck takes all day to crank over.
@6:55, i always struggled with downshifting from 3rd to 2nd. Seems it would never want to go in gear. Maybe i need to blip more revs or double clutch (or both). Anyways, great video! Your truck sounds awesome!
Just curious... how fast do you get going in first gear? I have a '91 4 speed Blazer and first gear is absolutely useless, as I can only spend a second or two in it before i need to shift to second.
I can't wait for the day the cherry bombs are replaced, spoils the whole truck for me because its great other than that noise. My first car, a 1974 UK Ford Escort had one on when I bought it and I went straght to the exhaust place on the 2nd day of owning it and got it replaced, even at 17 I thought it was too much.
If you're gonna keep that Computer Controlled Carb on I have a good running spare and a bunch of spare stock parts off my 84 k5. Converted to a regular distributor / Edelbrock AVS2 last summer. Nice truck. Look into a Flowmaster super 44. It is deep n throaty but not obnoxiously loud. Have it on my 2005 5.3L Silverado and sounds good.
