- In the majority of species of raptors (birds of prey), the females are bigger than males. What might be nature's reason for this size reversal? In this video I explore three hypotheses that scientists have come up in response.

There is a nesting pair of bald eagles a few miles from me and you can very easily tell which is the female and which is the male.

I think there is another reason while raptor's female are bigger than male. Beacuse generally females spend most of the time incubating and than mostly brooding, so bigger female body protects hatchlings better from elements and keep them better warm🤗🌝🌨🌞⛈❄☂
That is an excellent idea and it makes a lot of sense!
For the female, I always thought it’s easier to bear the lesser weight during mating. For the male, a sturdy female can help with balance. The better the balance the more successful the mating.
