I think there may be 1 more rebuild episode before the first ride. Unfortunately I live in Massachusetts so the roads are covered in snow/ice so the first ride may take a while. However we will continue on. I am so glad this build is finally seeing an end in sight! Thank you for watching! :)
Just stumbled upon your page at home during the holidays and have put this build series up on the big screen. I want to say thanks for not using foul language, I can watch with my kids and parents without it being awkward! Keep up the great content I’m learning a lot and want to take apart my R6 even though it works fine lol!
I just rebuilt a 2004 Hayabusa that was wrecked. I was originally going to buy it for 3500 from the original owner and it was beautiful with the midnight purple and black paint scheme but someone beat me to it. A few days later I see it in a parking lot wrecked. I called the original owner got the guys number who bought it and paid 1900 and he didn’t even change the title yet so technically I’m the second owner and it’s not a rebuilt title either. I put a new radiator, brake caliper, disks , stator cover, and high pressure radiator hoses with a total of 2400 invested including new panted NT fairings. Then I changed the spark plugs and the bike wouldn’t rev pass 6-8 k rpm. Turned out to be a kinked fuel line haha. Bike is perfect now. These videos inspire me to rebuild wrecked bikes.
LED’s look so much nicer than the dirty t shirt yellow halogens. Plus your eyes see better with 5000 kelvin(color) vs halogen 2700 kelvin. LED’s also offer more lumens(brightness) vs halogens. Halogens should be discontinued because of safety issues. Nice bike build!
@@joeyg29jgjg Only because the optics aren't designed for LED's, they're designed for halogens. A proper LED optic wouldn't throw the light up as high and wouldn't blind anyone...and also wouldn't light up the road as well. Generally if you modify a vehicle's lighting to improve visibility you've also made it a nuisanse to other people (if not dangerous and outright illegal). Really the issue isn't the type of light bulb used at all, it's people wanting to project light in a way that a road vehicle shouldn't. If you want to see clearly out in front of you you have your high beams for that, don't be that guy who wants his low beams to light up the road 100 yards away and no one coming the other way can see shit because if you. A well designed optic with a good quality halogen bulb can produce all the light you can reasonably ask for, which is why they are still widely used and there is nothing unsafe about them. They're also dirt cheap, ask the people who own modern cars with all LED lighting (to improve fuel consumption by 0.1mpg) what they think about them when they start burning out and it needs a whole new 400$ unit instead of a 5$ bulb. And don't think these 40$ amazon LED direct swap bulbs are any better (disregarding the fact that they are not strictly legal, as they blind other drivers as we've established), because a professional quality LED bulb costs 150$ for a reason, look though the reviews of those 40$ chinese bulbs and you'll see loads of people complaining about them lasting a month.
Ok, we are closer to have your impressions of a very big and powerful green machine. I can't believe the rust in many parts I could see, it's evident that the bike endured a very poor care, but now it's in the proper hands.
Brilliant series, I have loved it from the beginning, especially as it's on the potential future bike list. You present very well, in a real world way, and come across as likeable and honest, without trying to be flash or putting on an act. I can't wait for the next installment.
I have been enjoying the vids, great trouble shooting. I recently replaced the front sprocket on my 08 and did'nt lock the slave and tie the lever to the bar. when i reinstalled had no pressure in the lever so I bleed the clutch like you would on any other bike to no avail. only after i bleed a second time at the top of the bars and let it sit with the lever tied to the bar did I get it where it was meant to be. learning curve i guess. great job on this build btw
The headlights look SOOOO good. I thought the same thing when I replaced the highlights on my CBR. I feel like it updates the bike nicely while still keeping it's original look at the same time. Really enjoy these videos, I learn a lot just by watching and it makes it a lot less intimidated to replace parts on my own bike. Awesome work!!
Hey bro I have been following this rebuild from the beginning and I am so glad that you never gave up on the bike! It has come such a long way and I cannot wait for the first ride review! Take care bro and buh-bye.
Tip, for a home made speed bleeder. Use short length (8") of rubber pipe the right size to push on to the nipple, plug one end and just above put a small split along the tube with a razor blade, put the other end onto the nipple and crack the nipple open . As you pump the lever the split opens and closes acting as a one way valve.
Wow,have followed You from the START of this build!!! Am so looking forward to hearing/seeing how it runs in the next video here!!! And most of all, believe me...........I UNDERSTAND how chilly it's been there (and where I'm at too-Ohio) lately!!! So here's wishing the temps. come up a bit for you to take er out and get'er up to proper temperature to see how she rides!!! Good job so far!!!

Yup. The clutch is so frustrating to bleed if the slave cylinder seals are not working properly. If they are working properly then it takes only a few pumps of the lever to bleed it. Dont waste your money on bleed valves. Just stick a bit of plumbers tape on the thread of the bleed nipple to ensure air doesnt get in past the thread when you open/close to bleed it. Just good seals all the way to make life so much easier.
Nice build 👍 I use a Mity Vac for bleeding brakes and clutch. I can't imagine anything better or easier. The bore on your slave could have used a slight hone IMO.
Love this series. I'm not even close to being a mechanic but I try to do most of my own work on my ZX14R mainly because I don't trust bike shops. Their quality of work and care factor has never been good in my experience. and yeah, it is a difficult bike to work on but you take it to another level. Is there any way I could convince you to move to Melbourne, Australia? I would have no problem letting you wrench on any of my bikes.
Curious, are you going to do the oil pump cover while it’s apart? I would ... it’s an issue. A few friends lost an engine to it. It’s a $55 part pretty easy to do. Goes behind the clutch (it’s not as scary as it sounds to do it! Maybe 45min taking your time, 1hr to film. Could knock it out 20-30mins).
Don`t you have to have those extra relays or whatever they are to balance the currency when changing to LEDs up front? I have a `07 Z1000 that could do with better lights
En el embrague tienes que cambiar el sello, resorte y limpiar a nivel espejo la pared del cilindro, si no, fallara nuevamente. Es algo muy común en Kawasaki con embrague hidráulico.
Wouw, Nice built. I wonder though. Are there LEDs that have a sort of gyroscopic mechanism in it to get adaptive lighting? I mean that when you turn, the lights will lean towards the corner aswell?
