I was a Honda mechanic back in the 70s and 80s. I rode all the other Japanese brands and always thought Honda was the best all round brand hands down. I own a 95 VFR 750 now and it's incredible. I have a 2017 CBR1000RR and it’s the best handling bike I’ve ever owned. Sure it’s down 10-15 HP to the other Japanese brands but I don’t care. That difference will only be slightly noticed once you are well into 100+ MPH speeds. It’s ridiculously fast and looks amazing. You can’t go wrong with any of the Japanese brands today and it comes down to a matter of personal preferences.

Honda is the most hated brand for everything they do not because are bad, not at all, but because people don’t get it. Sure they are not the fastest or the best looking but they do everything well. They are without doubt the most reliable, the best made and they seem to have character. There is just something about the way they do things.
I love both my Honda motorbike and Honda Type R car.

That´s what BMW use to be till they change the brand politics. For people how likes motocycles. They want a good bike but they know they don´t have to race, just want to go fast play safe and come back home in one piece, honda is a good brand. We don´t get pay to risk are lives on the road scratching tens of seconds. We can go fast but we are not going to get a better sponsor for been the fastest.
It is true that we have a boring philosophy but the street is not a safe place for riding a motorcycle and this machines are not all that safe by them selfs.

My first motorcycle was a (very used) 1976 Honda Dax (or CT70 in USA). I changed the oil, and used it as is for about 3 years....then I restore it, and 15 years, 39k miles, a lot of oil changes, 2 set of tires and 1 chain later, is still good as day 1. This has been my commuter bike for the last 5 years, no problems so far. And I can say the same for the more recent 1984 Sabre 750 (bought and repaired it to road condition about 8 years ago), and 2001 Shadow (3 years now). Because of that, when I saw the 2019 CB650R, I fell in love....hope this bike keeps the Honda reliability in check!

The REAL REASON why Honda's are more "reliable" than all other brands is the holistic approach to their quality. While Yamaha might make a bulletproof reliable MOTOR, they can skimp out on other small bits and pieces which will be more likely to fail over time compared to a Honda. Think, water pump, switch gear, electrical wiring, etc. Everyone thinks about motor when it comes to reliability but there are dozens of other key components to making a motorcycle function properly!

For a bike with this cc and this year, it actually rides really amazing, you can go for a trip on the highway with zero worries. 6th gear on the Twister consequently increases the top speed, but it serves more as a rest for the engine. Most of the low cc Honda bikes here only have 5 gears, and at 80 mph (that's 130 kph) they're on their redline. Life goal: '08 600RR too, be safe, lov ur videos ;)

I restart once every 3 months. I replace hard drives after 5 years.
I still have every computer I ever bought. They all still work. Most are compatible with up to date software and operating systems.
The iMac i use every day is from 2008. My MacBook Pro is from 2006. My MacBook Air is from 2011.
So yeah, I also buy Honda bikes. Though I’ve also got classic Bultaco Sherpa trials bikes, and Velocettes. But they both have their own stories.
I particularly like some of the bikes Honda makes exclusively for its domestic market.
    ‘Fanboy’ is a compliment. 😎

All brands are great, my dad and I have owned or ridden almost all the brands. Honda have made some great bikes. 900rr and the 650 XRL are one of those greats. The torque from that single thumper and scream from that perfect four. I can vouch for them...

@Justin Voluck Statistics says your wrong, only in the past 5 ish years have the competetion caught up to the point where there is no real difference (in the 4-5 year period) no telling if a 2019 CBR650 holds better than a 2019 Z650, but my bet is still on honda.

I can attest here, my 7 year old Honda, gave me one problem in the period I have it, my dad had Honda when he was a young man and he says he didn't service the thing in 5 years and drove cross country with it after not servicing it for 5 years and he never touched the oil or water. Also, my Honda is now 7 years later the same market price then what I bought it for. Very reliable bikes.

I have always looked up to Honda, but the last few years they seem to have phoned it in. My last two bikes have been Suzuki's, never planned to buy them, but each time, the test ride has made me fall in love with them. I rode VFR800s and and a Triumph Sprint GTs before preferring the GSX1250FA

I just picked up a 2011 600RR. The guy, real nice guy btw, shout out to John in San Fran if you’re seeing this, sold it to me for $3,900. It’s almost completely stock and it rides smooooth. If this deal hadn’t come up, I probably would’ve gone for an R6 but I’m glad it did. It fits me perfectly and I’m happy with it so far

The biggest problem with owning older bikes (15+ years old) is that the tubing starts to go bad. As in the coolant and oil hoses. Swap those out and you’re in the clear for the most part.

Most reliable and best built bikes you can have.... My dad has a revere 600 on a J reg which hadn't been started for around 4 years.... Once the fuel was through to the carbs it started basically first time and that's with old fuel too... You can't go much wrong with a Honda... Superb bikes!

Agree with you 100%. Italian brands usually try to outcompete by stressing the mechanics to the extreme to sacrifice reliability and serviceability. Honda motorcycles usually are not the very most powerful models because they are tuned for reliability.

I have the same reasoning as yours. I've owned few bikes including a z1000 2003, and my current bike is a zx10r 2004. I check the price sometimes on 2nd hand sites and it's roughly the same price as when I bought it 7 years ago

Just the bikes are fragile like that (I mean accidents). Took my TRX down the middle of a pond and killed it before the water was sucked in. The air cleaner was destroyed, but after the water ran out, it fired and I did it again.

That cbr1000triple R is a beast. It only took honda 15 years and 8 consecutive motogp championships to finally put some R&D into their motorcycles again. But Honda is back and they are swinging hard.

I don’t consider myself a Honda fanboy, but I’ve still ended up on 3 Honda’s so far. An F4i, 600rr, and now a 1000rr. They seem to fit my size and style better when compared to an R6 or R1, which are what I considered and even test rode. If I were buying today, I’d get an S1000rr, hands down.

Nothing wrong with that. I’m a Honda fan since the moment I got myself the 2-stroke Honda MB-50 which I drove for 63.000 km without the engine being opened once. I recently traded my ST1100 (after 20 years) for a VFR1200 and though I look at other brands, somehow I always come back to Honda. Somehow the picture is right when I look at Honda bikes and I miss that with other brands. I have to admit, I’m Henk, I’m a Honda fan😜
