Thanks for this video. I have been using Phantoms for the last 3 seasons. No problems, with the exception of the laces. Recently, I swapped the original ones, which are very slippery, with the flat laces. There is an improvement, they hold better, however it is not dial/wire like closure. Having experience with the boa systems in cycling shoes, I was just about to buy the G-tech, purely for their closure system. But after hearing what issues you had with them, two pairs as I remember well, mainly durability made me reconsider this option. If only Scarpa implemented the dial system......

The very idea of using softer rubber on ice climbing shoes is not clear. During this activity, the sole does not come into direct contact with the ice.

Hey Kellen, thanks for the video. What about the size? Do you wear the same size in both? I have a wide toe box

Yep same size in both, EU 44. I kinda felt like the SCARPA Phantom Tech is more comfortable. It also felt like the Phantom Techs are wider in the toe box as well

If there’s any problem it might be on your end or TH-cams end, I went through the video on a few devices and the audio sounds fine

@@TheBelaytionshipI think hes point is that it is quite quiet compared to other content. For context my sound level is usualy on around 4-8% on my PC (yeah my speakers are busted and stuck on max) and for this video i had to crank it up to 16%. I could barely hear anything on my normal levels. So yeah nothing major, but something to keep in mind.

But again that's based on your hardware, I mix the sound on my hardware and that includes MacBook Speakers and AirPods, and how it's mixed I'm already boosting the audio by +9 db. Sound mixing is a preference thing and how I have it mixed is going for the audio levels that I listen to podcast with, ~60% volume on a phone speaker. I easily could boost the audio more to get a more present sound at lower levels but if I do that there is a noticeable loss in audio quality, and I prefer having more detailed audio (and I'm already loosing detail by boosting it +9 db).
