I am in Australia but my parents are from Helensburgh and as such I have numerous relatives in Scotland. I have been talking to one of my cousins via WhatsApp and he said it has been terrible. They are in Winchburgh and have had no power for about 7 hours, but thankfully everyone is OK. Stay safe Ali and Luna and anyone else who is in the storm zone ⛈️
You’ve made a lovely cosy home for you and Luna, and I hope it keeps you safe today! From an early-retired teacher and Barney the Westie, thank you for a wonderful TH-cam channel 😊
We’re in the middle of it here in NI 🙈 brace yourself! Our Labrador is also bewildered and I’d say scared! NI is also closed apart from emergency services. Good you’re well prepared - we started preparing yesterday! Keep safe Ali and love to Luna from Ricky ❤❤
Good luck, Ali, and anyone else in the red, or amber, zone - I hope you all manage to stay safe. We're on yellow alert, so our winds are strong but not dangerous (unless any trees blow over, of course). I went through a number of years where I had leaky windows and roof - at one point, I had a bucketful of water to empty each night from the windows when it rained, and had a container in the living room to catch the water coming through the roof and ceiling. Fortunately, we were re-roofed, the outside wall was rebuilt and repointed, lintels put in over my windows, and I got several windows replaced. But I know how scary it is in even the mildly severe weather we get here, and can only imagine winds at twice the speed we get.
Very strong winds here in West Yorkshire, but not at the high levels being experienced in Ireland and Scotland. Glad to hear you’re sensible and staying home safe with Luna.
Hope you and Luna stay safe, Ali, along with everyone else. Quite breezy here (NE coast of England), under amber alert. The area suffered badly in storm Arwen in 2022, and that was a red alert for us. Trees, walls, fences, greenhouses all felled and so much roof damage. We also had the beast from the East in 2018, when the wind was so strong, it snapped several street lamps in half along the sea road!
Stay safe and warm indoors Ali and Luna 🩷. Very gusty here in Tamworth, Staffs - @50mph winds. I popped out this morning (not for long) and it was really buffeting the car. Back home now 👍🏻.
I cannot hear the wind over the roaring of same buffeting my own house. No dog walk for my two today. They are looking sad and expectant. I'd rather bored dogs, than an unforseen accident, then living with the consequences if we do attempt to go out. Schools are still operating where I live (NEast Coast). Sending prayers of protection for you, Luna and your home and property. You look ready for any emergencies. You are reminding me to fully charge my own lamps. Keep safe Ali and everyone. Lets hope it passes quickly without too much damage or loss. Big hugs.
I'm 600 ft above sealevel looking north and down onto the forth valley towards Stirling. It is wild Ali, bins all over the place , fingers crossed the conservatory roof stays on. Keep cosy in your wee hoose❤
Our power came back on an hour ago. Still 90mph winds in Cowal. Our roads are blocked both ways and the two ferries are off. Staying warm and waiting for the final of Traitors tonight!
I live in an area with very strong winds from time to time Foehn Winds. They are so strong that you have problems to stand in the streets. But I never remember a single day in the last decades that government shot down businesses or public transportation or hospitals, Interesting how different countries are in protecting their people. I think it's a good thing to shut down when conditions become really bad. You an Luna take care.
I am in South Africa at the moment but have a house in central belt Scotland in red area. The 1998 storm, which was worse, did take some tiles but apart from that it has stood firm during the winter gales. Nothing has been left outside while we are away. So we will just have to wait and see. I will probably phone a neighbour tomorrow to check.
I'm in the central belt - I have the fear! One of the fences I share with a neighbour is moving with the gusts so not sure if that is going to survive...or any part of my house really. I am old enough to remember the 1968 hurricane in Scotland and I was only 4 at the time it was terrifying. Wishing you and Luna a safe journey through today x
I'm in an amber zone and it's pretty wild out there at the moment, quite a few wheelie bins blowing around. I was pleased to see your gas hob is as messy as mine lol.
My brother also lives in Stirling so hoping you all stay safe and inside where possible. Was windy earlier up to 60mph which isnt unusual but just a bit breezy now on the SE Kent coast
Stay safe. I’m in the NW of England so on an amber alert. It’s very windy here but it’s bright and sunny. I hope you and Luna manage to stay warm and safe with no damage to your property.
I hope you are ok. Nothing much in Norfolk as yet, actually quite a nice day, just a bit breezy at present. Can you do a follow-up 'short' tomorrow to let us know you are ok?
Watching this from just outside Dunfermline. Both my dogs are terrified. I'm in bed with one of them while dh is in his home office working while the other dog is with him. It's pretty awful. I'm worried about my tree crashing into the beighbour's garden.
We’re in an amber zone but so far it’s proving a bit of a damp squib with not much happening outside apart from a bit of wind and a few showers interspersed with sunshine. Not ruling out that we might get it later, though, because who knows until it happens?
Wild in Perthshire 💨💨☔️☔️💨💨 Stay safe….my woofs are currently tucked underneath a blanket keeping warm 🐾🐶🐾 We’re prepared too, got my gas camping stove out, matches, candles, rechargeable lamps, phones all charged up and log burner on 🔥 pot of soup made & ready to dish up for lunch….but I really fancy Blondies too after just watching that video too
I'm in Western Canada & heard about your storm warning on our news. Luna is so lovely. Stay warm & cozy ❤

I have many local friends who live more rurally and they've been without power for hours
Poor Luna looks bewildered. 🐶 You are really well prepared so hunker down for a few hours and be safe. xx
You’ve made a lovely cosy home for you and Luna, and I hope it keeps you safe today! From an early-retired teacher and Barney the Westie, thank you for a wonderful TH-cam channel 😊
Hope you stay safe. Warning of a different kind....years ago my Lab cross learnt how to spell W.A.L.K ....😝🐕
Hope you are both safe and the family too. Take care xx
I hope you and others 'up north' stay safe and well!
No been out, my dog stayed under 2 blankets but the young cat was very upset that i couldnt turn the wind off for him lol
Lunas wee face. "what's going on" you are well prepared Ali. Stay safe everyone
Good luck Ali. We’ve just been through it and it was rough. The house was vibrating.
Stay safe! You will be plenty busy keeping Luna busy. Hoping your power stays on. 🙏🙏

Stay safe Ali and Luna . 🙏
Luna listening to every word you say ❤
Stay safe dear ladies. From the the land of hurricanes we know high winds are nothing to triffle with, nor flying objects.
Pretty windy in Dundee . Dog wants out won't go out 😂😂 take care xx

Having a gas hob is always reassuring- something I don't have in my current home.
Stay safe!

Wow, that's a powerful storm coming! Good on you for being prepared. Good thoughts sent your way!!

This time last week we were in Stirling . Battened down here too with flasks filled and candles ready.

Stay safe. I think Luna will need extra snacks❤

Fingers crossed for you!
@aliliveswellonless ❤️
Hide and seek with toys is a great game for dogs. They say it's as stimulating and tiring as a walk!
I think I've tired her out with training games as she's currently snoozing on the sofa beside me!! :-)
Me too. Just waiting for it to hit. Praying for my roof! Stay safe ❤

Ali is everything OK I'm in England and just seen on the news that the storm has caused alot of damage and power cuts in Scotland ??
Yes lots of damage and power cuts around Stirling but so far we're ok
@aliliveswellonless oh no that's not good but glad you're safe.
