    The paceline card also charges a $60 annual membership fee (in the fine print), so that is another caveat to take into consideration

    • @alexc2265
      @alexc2265 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Man, at this point, with all the no fee cards with 3% and 5% categories, not many people will spend enough on balance. You’d need to spend $6k on non-category spend to break even versus a 2% card.

    • @luckism
      @luckism ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@alexc2265 Yep, that's what I think too! Especially since there isnt a SUB either. The only way to justify it is if you wanted to buy an Apple Watch anyways, as a $429 (-$60 for fee) discount, then close it after a year, though maybe there is some fine print to prevent that. Also someone else mentioned in the comments that there are small gift card incentives for exercising, so maybe that would cover the annual fee

    Your new style of filming content has been awesome in my opinion. Adding in the skits and vlog-esque moments makes the video super engaging and fun to watch. As for the credit cards themselves, these are all some really interesting options and could definitely be put to use by a specific target audience. Thanks for the video Ben and keep it up!

    There were a few 3% Cashback cards in the past:
    1. JCB Marukai Premium. Discontinued. There was $15 AF, but they gave you a $50 bonus after spending $3k per year. It was not accepted everywhere, especially online, but mostly fine in a stores. I had this card.
    2. Priceline Rewards Visa Signature earns 2x on every purchase, each point worth 1.67c if redeemed against travel or Priceline purchase. Relatively easy to cash out. No AF, no FTF. Discontinued for new applicants. I have this card for 10 years. The new version is only 1x on everything.
    3. AOD FCU Visa signature card. 3% on everything. No AF, no FTF. Discontinued for new applicants.

    Great round up, and I really want some of these cards when I am finally out of Chase jail.
    I like the American Express blue business plus as a catchall. It’s 2 MRs rather than 3% on everything, but those MR points can be reliably converted into 3 to 4% for flights or more, or 2.2 cents with a Schwab platinum. Or two cents with an American Express business account and a business platinum. still not a 3% on everything card, but if you fly regularly, it is a 3-4%+ card.

    I have the Blue Cash Everyday and I didn't even realize the categories changed! I was still under the impression that it was a 3% on groceries, 2% on gas, and 1% on everything else! I'll have to keep those rewards in mind now, because that's quite helpful!
    The paceline card could be worthwhile because of the health incentive! I already have an Apple Watch

  • @timothyliu2588
    @timothyliu2588 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I think category do matter a lot. For me a big one is utilities. >$600/mo water-garbage-electric-internet-cellphone. a couple thousand each year on various insurance. Not to mention kid's gym classes, charity donations all noncategory spending. For me dining/groceries/gas are pretty well covered. So a good 3% card is great for catch all.
    3% back even makes paying income, property tax, and even tuitions with credit card worthwhile. These usually carries ~2% fee.

There are a few caveats though - if its not your only card, it can be hard to eat minimum spend for other sign up bonuses. Also, cash back is actually to pay off expenses of 50 or so merchants. The great part though - all the major US Carriers are listed merchants. Arguably the best and easiest travel cc that nobody is talking about.

    BofA unlimited cash rewards is definitely underrated. You could potentially be getting 2.62% cash back. And that could include rent.
    Are there any other catch all cards with 0 annual fees that provide that ROI?
