- Sooo my last Fallout vid did actually nuts so of course I'm making a part 2. There's Pip-boys, Aliens, and Nuka Cola coming and like last time I'll be covering from Fallout 1/2, Fallout 3/New Vegas to Fallout 4/76 there's some great redesigns and some really really bad ones to talk about.
And don't worry I won't be milking this any further, I've got some REAL vids comin. high effort even.

I think the fallout 4 assault rifle would have been better if they called it a LMG and given it beefier damage and sound effects, and then used the handmade as the assault rifle base game.
Or just had an AR15, FAL, or AKM like every other game

It was actually supposed to be a machine gun. It in game files refer to it as a machine gun as does the fallout 4 art book.

Yeah same. I actually think the Fallout 3 and New Vegas nuka cola bottles look too similar to real life coke bottles and 4 looks more like it fits the world of Fallout. And I just like it's shape

You can aquire the Alien Disintegrator in 76 during "Invaders from Beyond" event.
The weapon finally has a reload animation instead of the charecter just abusing the gun.

The 76 disintegrator genuinely might be the worst performing weapon in the game but its fun and silly so i will never let it leave my inventory

The Fallout 4 Alien Blaster is weird for me but in a sort of complete way. It feels like a combination of the cartooniness of the old designs and the generic sci-fi aesthetic of Mothership Zeta
Always took it as a different weapon, doubt all aliens use the same gun
@@cowbeanboi412 Given that aliens look different in Fallout 4, we could assume they’re a different group than the ones from other games and would thus have different technology
plus, even us humans have different models for different gun types, pistols are among them.
so the fact that the Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 Alien Blasters look different could be the different models.
I do like the combo of copper with blue glowing highlights, it's such an unusual combination.
If not for 76, I always just thought they were different aliens from the unusual look for the suit and ship and all that.
The fact that fallout 4 didn’t have Adam Adamowicz do the concept art I think is the reason that alot of the designs in 4 were over designed messes. Dude was insanely talented and the reason that 3 had such interesting designs. Rip

Fallout 4 has better robot designs imo. Sentry bot looks terrifying. And Assaultron....yeah it exists.
I personally like the 76 pip boy Alot especially since the knobs and stuff are on the right side but the 3000 is by far the most believable its not absolutely massive and just loooks delicious
Nuka cola on the other hand I prefer the new look, its just way more interesting and iconic and doesn't just look like a regular glass bottle of coke
Exactly idk why people thought the 3/NV nuka cola looks better than 4, it literally looks generic compared to 4, it's like a straight knock off coca cola without any changes except for the label but I guess people have different opinions I guess
I am surprised that people don't like the 4 design of Nuka Cola because it feels different from any other bottle you would ever see. Doesn't mean I'm not modding in sunset.
I like the classic bottle and the more standard machines instead of the weird box of 4
the 76 pip boy is a wierd combo between Classic fallout (with the date\time\bell icon\vaccum tubes) and the pip boy 3k.
So glad you mentioned that pip-boy from fallout 76. It's my favourite one in the series by FAR!

My personal favorite pipboy design gotta be the one in Fallout 76. It just hits all the right area's for me and makes me think of the F1 and 2 pipboy.

Gotta respectfully disagree with the Nuka Cola bottle designs bit.
As bulky and impractical the FO4 ones are, they look so unique that it actually makes them feel like a retro-futuristic bottle, plus with Nuka Cola being such a huge brand in-universe, i believe they'd splurge extra money to make their bottles fancy.
FO3 and NV's ones look like a cheap soda brand bottle I could go down to the store and buy, they look TOO simple and "real".
But its not blue, blue good white bad uga buga

With Fallout, they can be creative about things, many other aspects of that world are impractical and silly looking compared to real life, it's just the franchise's artstyle

I have no complaints except the nuka bottles. I love the fallout 4 nuka bottles. The nuke shaped bottles I feel fit fantastically. Saw it in 4 for the first time and liked it more than previously.
Ok I'm going a bit over than my actual opinion on the bottle of 4, but I really do find it the best of the games in my eyes, tho my opinions rarely tend to be "fantastic".

Assault rifle in fallout 4 looks like a mounted machine gun with water cooler
Its a portable version of the Lewis machinegun from WORLD WAR 1. And they give it to power armor troops, a machine gun from 150+ YEARS AGO. Who ever thought it looked futurustic probably calls iphone 12 "vintage"

I don’t mind the Pip boy and Nuka Cola redesigns. Admittedly I do use a replacer mod for the Pip boy but I still don’t mind it. The Alien blaster however even with the barrel extension I still don’t like it and it usually gets thrown into a box and forgotten about.
To be honest, I really like Fallout 4’s Nuka-Cola a lot. I can picture it really well in an old add for soda. The fins are neat.
I imagine Bethesda favors fo4's Nuka Cola design because of how unique its shape is, the original bottle looks just like normal coke but blue, so has less merchandising opportunities
the pip-boy design in 76 is king to me. it’s the perfect cross between the pip-boy from the first two games and the 3000 from 3 and NV

Fallout 4 made a lot of things 'lumpy', boxy 10mm pistol, make it lumpy, smooth sleek sentry bot, make it lumpy, harsh angles on the pip boy, make it lumpy
While I agree with you on most things being lumpy, I really like the sentry bot. Fallout 3/NV's sentry bot was just kinda weird to me

I actually kinda like the fallout 4 pip boy, excluding the buttons and texture i think it was made to look like a personal computer with all that extra animations that are supose to be done by computers (reproduce audio and connecting with other devices) and if fallout 76 does that to (never played it or whats walkthrougs) will certainly be my favorite

I personay find the fallout 4 power armor change to be one of the best. Remonds me more of the first 2 games and gives them way more of that walking tank feel they are always described as.
I love the idea that the fallout 4 blaster can be nodded to take fusion cells, but I wish it was visually different afterwards, like a big ugly pile of scrap wired to the old port so you can jam a cell in would be cool
As a WW1 history buff, I like the Fallout 4 assault rifle because it's basically carrying around a Maxim Gun like a rifle. That tickles a certain spot in my brain ngl
Fallout 76 has my favorite pip boy. I love the look of the radio on it and it’s very retro look and feel.
The Pip-boy Mk4 looks like its real tech, the functionality and way the mechanisms work is wayyyy better, and the cable makes so interactions with tech seem real, how the hell can you hack a robot without any ports? does the robot have a full interface with keyboard and everything? its also how the power suit syncs with the pip-boy. while its design might look more clunky it is and feels like a proto-smartwatch, which iprefer from the one piece, probably impossible to repair pip boy 2000 and 3000. The only thing betehesda missed is the ability to mod the pip boy.
It looks functional in the same way that a bootleg MP3 player from 2009 looks functional
I concur. Its so chunky because its depicting space-age tech, back when a home computer would need a full dedicated room. The "portable computer" pip-boy is meant to be a sort of feat of engineering, on a par with fusion powered cars and domestic robots.
It's curvy giving it that atomic age aesthetic, it's functional as well... Sure it's not terribly pretty at first glance, but it fits the aesthetic of fo4. Its a good design, I believe.
The Pip-Pad mod for fallout 4 is the best “pip boy”
One of the things that I think that fallout 76 did right was return (atleast in some cases) to the more realistic guns. Like for example the lmg in the game is a mg-42, we finnaly got bows in the game, there is an ar-10(althrough as a skin for a handmade) and there is a bunch more weapons from the previous fallouts like my favorite automatoc grenade launcher and pump action shotgun.

I got one of the Pip Boy 2000 diy kits at GameStop for pretty cheap and spent 3 days building it and it’s one of my favorite things I own
I think if fallout 4s assault rifle was labeled LMG or machine gun or SAW i think it probably wouldn't have as much hate as it does now.

Ok naw I gotta defend the damn Nuka Cola redesign- like that right there is just so damn pretty looking. The previous bottles are hella bland its just "Oh hey look its an alternate brand of Coke" but the new ones- they stand out so well amongst a sea of other bottles soda bottles. Like lining it up compared to the other ones it exuberates flashy personality and it actively stands out to say- "Oh wait this America's BRAND of soda- like this is what your kids are begging for". Even quantum's label was better than 3 and NVs- that reflects the Hot New Item thats open for a limited time.
Great video! Also, if you ever need more suggestions, I would love to ear what you think about Vault redesigns and maybe some gameplay mechanics, like how radiation poisoning works in the Classics/Fallout 3 & New Vegas/Fallout 4 & 76.
They should’ve named the fo4 one specifically to indicate it’s to be used with power armour, and maybe leaned into the bulk of it being advanced tech or something. The way it’s massive in the TV show and basically a stationary weapon without power armour works well.
I completely disagree on the Alien Blaster. I really dislike the copper color in FO4 and think the New Vegas/F03 has the best color. All of their designs are okay but the color matters most to me.

I will note that it is likely that the Pip Boy 2000 from Fallout 1 and 2 is in fact wrist mounted, as there's nothing in lore to suggest that the Pip Boy was ever handheld in any variation, plus in the canceled Fallout Van Buren which was basicially meant to be Interplay's version of Fallout 3, the Pip Boy IS shown to be wrist mounted, though due to the low quality models, it's pretty much looks like a green brick. I hope this helps! :3
Yeah and they did apparently confirm it was mean to be wrist mounted but that was way way later post modern fallout so that's not worth much in terms of "the now"

@snowycity The closest thing I could think of for what it could have possibly looked like is somewhere in between the Pip Boy from Fallout 76 and oddly enough the one from The Frontier new vegas mod, but aside from those, I don't think we'll ever get a true idea of what they truely looked like.
I'm currently playing a new vegas run with the pipboy 2000 wrist mounted and it's my favorite! Glad we share the same love for tubes
If I have to be frank, I think Fallout 4 has the best designs for living things/robots.
The people, creatures, and robots look more like they could actually exist rather than the clay creatures being resurrected in 3 and New Vegas. Humans especially in 3/NV just look kind of unerving imo.
Barring Super Mutants in 4 cause they do in fact look like if ass was an artstyle.

The old bottle designs were too close to IRL and Bugthesda needed to change it due to that...or so I've heard. Also, the FO4 assault rifle is the power armor assault rifle, based on a mix of WW1 machine guns, like the maxim.
And the alien guns are strongly based on 1950's American scifi, everything has that aesthetic.
The only reason they made nuka cola and the pip-boy look like that in fallout 4 is to turn them into merch to sell
the hunting rifle in Fo4 would be my favourite gun design if only it wasn't a left-handed model being held as if it were right-handed.
I gotta give it to the FO4 PIP-boy tho, i love the knobs and how you navigate it compared to the others

at first i hated the fallout 4 assault rifle design, but it has kinda grown into me and i have learned to appreciate it. The big barrel actually looks good. I would not call it an assault rifle, it's too much of an LMG that I'd rather call it a compact machine gun. I like machine guns of all kind, and this is the only weapon in fallout 4 that can give you the experience of a machine gun. wish it had the magazine feed on the top tho, that would make this gun S tier in design, but unfortunately mr. bethesda felt like re-using the pipe gun animations.

I have a head canon on some FO4 redesigns, in that is SO close to the war and SO power armor focused, that after the success of power armor in Anchorage the US govt started testing weapons in certain areas of the country aka Boston and Appalachia, but it’s just that head canon, I can remember the moment I saw the new assault rifle in 4, it was hideous
Glad to see another Mothership Zeta fan. Kinda sad you didnt touch on the addition of the disintegrator into fallout 76 (also my fav weapon from 3 and now 76). A faithful recreation of the weapon but now in HD. I also like that in 76 they kept the power of the weapon in 3, as in 76 it is the most powerful semi automatic rifle in the game.

The Pip-Boy 2000 from The Frontier mod easily takes the cake as being the best design, but the one from 76 is a close second

The M16 being only in NV and Chinese AR only being in 3 fits each game's theme perfectly.
The M16 was used in places like Vietnam and symbolizes American imperialism like we see with the NCR. The Chinese AR fits in with 3's references to the red scare and foreign espionage

tooootally get what you mean about the Alien Blaster looking cartoony "in a bad way". I get it was going for an energy weapon NOT built by the U.S. government but god is it just awkward. Great point about the C-Finder too.
The problem I have with the pip-boy glove, or I guess just the pip-boy, is just that, I don't like having things be so assymetrical on my character. Especially looks weird when you wear power armor.
IMO: the overall vibe of F4-76 is to reflect the original games, in that, they had that cartoony effect everywhere. Mainly in the cutscenes obviously. However the Vault Suits being skin tight is pulled from there, as well as extremely bulky power armor.

I personally love the Pip-Boy 4000 and the 3000 models of Pip-Boy but to each their own. Also the assault rifle would be better as a machine gun rather than an assault rifle.
Honestly the plain old Fallout 3 Assault Rifle just hits home the classic simple G3 design I don’t know the way it looks makes me want to use it over the Chinese Assault Rifle

@@joshuaolejasz9590the fallout 3 rifle is a g3 with wood furniture. The predecessor to the g3, (CETME) did have wood furniture in some cases, and was identical to the assault rifle in 3.

Honestly, I feel like there could be a compromise could be found with the nuka cola bottle shape, like maybe keeping the tall bottle shape and putting tiny fins at the base (not big ones just ones small enough to be legally considered a different bottle shape).

6:06 okay i also prefer the pip-boy 3000 but my only gripe with it is its color scheme, and the pip boy 2000 is just so much better to me on the eyes, a good dusty, rusty, metallic sandy brown is perfect, it attracts me to use it but also looks like it doesn't care if something happens to me or not. while the dark green of the 3000 looks very military, cold, serious and not really inviting.
What I really hate about the f4 pipboy after playing Nv for long time. Is the lack of buttons, the 3 buttons on the bottom I miss them they were so convinient to move between Inv Data and status, it was better to navigate too

i think the fallout 4 assault rifle looks OKAY as long as its with power armor, they should of just upped the damage and called it the "heavy assault rifle" or something and made it a heavy weapon
Fallout 76 got alot wrong but the Pipboy 2k mk6 is my favorite pipboy design, it combined the new with the old flawlessly in my opinion

I'll say while the assault rifle in fallout 4 looks horrible, the only thing I like about it is that with the aa sights and the longer barrel, it looks like the bf1 sentry mg08 gun which is what is my only actual compliment for the gun
I think the nuka cola redesign was more about not wanting to get smited by the actual coca cola. That bottle design is very much trademarked and coca cola really likes suing people.
Plus its really not that bad and does fit in fallout, even in the old ones where the retro-futureism wasnt as exaggerated.

sorry but, fallout 4 nuka cola is the one good fallout 4 design, it may not be a TASTY design, but its certainly iconic.

The Fallout 4 assault rifle looks like something out of Call of Duty Vanguard before Call of Duty Vanguard existed.
I get what their going for with the Fallout 4 assault rifle, like there tryna make it almost dieselpunk esque to fit in with the Brotherhood of Steel but i still cannot believe it passed through however many people and they were like yeah that's fine.
Pimp boy will always be my favorite. So difficult to get in the game that's why I enjoy going on the little quest to get it. I remember writing down the instructions from Wikipedia. On paper at my school before going to playing it. And then realizing the Wikipedia is wrong and then trying to figure out another way.

While fallout 4 was my first fallout I definitely think fallout three had a better look overall, though I don’t think it’s completely garbage like some people on the internet insist on because nuance in opinions is for the weak I guess?
Fallout 4 has issues in every department but overall it's a lot better than people give it credit for.
But this is the fallout fanbase we're talking about. Nuanced opinions do not exist here. There are sections of the fanbase that hate each game with a burning passion except for like Fallout 1. Not even Fallout 2 is safe from it tbh

I did some DARK things in my first playthrough in order to get my hands on the fallout 3 assault rifle.
I love the Pip-Boy 2000 MKVI. It's without a doubt my favorite of the Pip-Boys. But I liked the design of the FO4 Nuka Cola bottles. The marketing it rocket based so it only makes sense. The vending machines can still shove it up their power socket. And the Alien Disintegrater is the best alien weapon ever and the FO4 Alien Blaster is amazing.
Whoever designed the FO4 assault rifle, I hope they have a bad day everyday

I headcanon that power armor frames in 4/76 are new tech but have to rely have to rely on old T45 power cell "Fusion Cores" rather than full size long life reactors because they never got to that phasem
the rocket shaped bottle for nuka cola in 4 exists because nuka cola somehow got sued for using the regular cola bottle design which EVERYBODY uses and has NEVER been trade marked or patented EVER. it's stupid but that wont stop me from liking the rocket design, i think that it fits more with the "nuka" part of the drink
The glowing bulb looking thingies in the radio and pipboy are vacuum tubes
Also the fallout 4 nuka bottles definitely fit the exaggerated nuclear-punk style
