I just discovered you a couple days ago, such a intelligent and young guy that is really good with his vocabulary as well. I did always do music since young remember my uncle placing fruity loops on the computer of me and my cousin. But last year I decided to go full into music and make it my way of being and evolve. I don’t necessarily wanna keep producing but I still keep open the program on my laptop when I want to invest time. My cousin on the other hand is way farther with music production and I wanna have a debut album in rap as a large project of mine. So I also want to take my producing knowledge a notch higher. But must say keep up you’re good work and keep investing this is some top notch content!

My worst enemy is myself. For some reason, I hold myself to a ridiculously high standard and I'm still a beginner. I constantly have this thought that if I'm not making music that sounds like the people that inspire me then I am making crap music. Then I go and buy a handful of different plugins because I think is going to make me sound better. It's a really vicious and damaging cycle. One thing that I've drilled into my head is that you have to enjoy the learning process and that the learning process will likely never end. The pros you look up to today and still learning.

this is true for everything. I do music as a small hobby and my main hustle is trading, and it's the same process...consistency, sucking in the early phases, doing it over and over and over and pushing through the failures, and patience until the compounding kicks in. and when you finally breakthrough, everything will happen so fast it seems 'overnight'. keep pushing, we got this!

I gotta say, the teaching thing is really true. I just did a remix recently and recorded the entire process for a TH-cam playlist. My first time doing such a thing. I spoke my thoughts and process out loud and I actually figured some things out that I normally struggle with! I learned some things as well. Thinking out loud while you produce as if you are trying to teach someone I feel is very helpful to yourself and an interesting experience.

thanks mate your words were really uplifting. had one of those producer moments yesterday where you just feel bad and unprofessional and would like to give up everything. and this sentence with the 100 beats really made me happy because that's exactly what i'm doing. building beats every day, recording vocals and trying to make the sound clearer and better through videos but the road is hard and the first tracks were shitty but i just keep going and maybe the moment will come when i feel the same progress as you do

Part of me is like “No! I need to make great tracks NOW” and yet I know you’re right. I mean I already do see small improvements in my stuff just because I’m learning so much, but I know that jump in quality won’t be huge for some time. Good thing I’m stubborn and won’t give up when I really care about something almost to the point of obsession 😅 Thanks for the encouragement 🙏

I've been producing for 5 years since 2019, I've learned so much from where I started and it amazes me just how much you can learn in a few years let alone a few months if your disciplined enough. Producing EDM not only showed me just how hard it is alone (and how much my respect grew for bigger artists then me,) but how magical it is to turn a idea into something greater
Your videos always inspire me to keep pushing no matter what ♥

Great timing with this video - I just recently decided "no new gear until I've made 100 tracks", whether they're a few bars looped or finished tracks that take the listener from A to B, and my gearhead friends (we're all gearheads) seemed skeptical, but I had a roomful of gear decades ago and barely made anything, the current setup fits on a card table and I'm banging something out every other day - I think that most of it's "meh", but my friends are shocked, after all these years, I've got a dozen new things to play for them when we get together, where I used to just have mad converstation about and enthusiam for whichever new piece of hardware on the wish list.

yo I started producing the same year and the timeline is similar. the first 3 years depending on your influences will mostly be figuring out what you like. the thing is worrying about improving fast can cause a lot of people to burn out or make producing not fun. I'm lucky because all I cared about was how fun making music is and creating with friends who also produce so I never forced myself to improve quickly. of course if your goals are urgent to you, its no problem to try and increase your skills fast but also remember art takes time and life experience to give it soul. so as long as you stick to it, research what you need to achieve your desired expression and put your feeling in the track, you'll surprise yourself how good you get in time

Truth. This holds for learning an instrument too -- you'll get frustrated because you don't see progress. Why am I doing this if I'm not getting anywhere? A decade later and you might not even recognize the struggle you had in the beginning.

I can tell you after years of experience, people are worried about producing before they learn how to play an instrument or know much about how music is made in general. Most top producers in the world are either awesome musicians or they are very technically smart. Both of those come with a lot of dedication and effort. There are no shortcuts.
