    Wow, I can relate so much to this: I'm in my path to baptism (was atheist but i'm converting to catholicism) and although I was so happy before all of this started, after praying for weeks the rosary and reading the ghospels I feel a lot more impure, sinful and not worthy of God than ever + all the usual "what if there is no God?", "what proofs do you have about God?" And "It's all fake, you're loosing time with religion" voices in my head.
    Now I understand where it all comes from.
    Thank you Matt and thank you sister Natalia, and more than anything Thank God!

      @Roger Mills “you do realize the devil is a Christian invention, there is no devil opposing God in the Old Testament”
      Actually the Devil appears in the garden in the book of Genesis, he’s deceiving Adam and Eve into sinning therefore being opposed to God in the Old Testament. Also Satan is in the book of Job as well, which is also Old Testament.

    • @jonhowerton2537

      @Roger Mills I understand Jews don’t believe in Satan per se. but they do talk about demons and exorcism in the Talmud. just because some claim the serpent is another created being does not mean it’s true. The Serpent deceiving them is the same way the devil tried to deceive Jesus in the desert, by twisting Gods word and trying to get them to Sin, therefore opposed to God. Also in the book of Ezekiel there is a dual prophecy that talks about the king of Tyre and also satan. The reason why we know it’s satan also because he was in the garden eden and also called a Cherub which is a high ranking angel.
      “You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone adorned you: carnelian, chrysolite and emerald, topaz, onyx and jasper, lapis lazuli, turquoise and beryl. Your settings and mountings were made of gold; on the day you were created they were prepared. You were anointed as a guardian cherub, for so I ordained you. You were on the holy mount of God; you walked among the fiery stones. You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created till wickedness was found in you. Through your widespread trade you were filled with violence, and you sinned. So I drove you in disgrace from the mount of God, and I expelled you, guardian cherub, from among the fiery stones. Your heart became proud on account of your beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor. So I threw you to the earth; I made a spectacle of you before kings.”
      ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭28:13-17‬ ‭

      @Roger Mills yeah, now go eat some soy and vote, cuz democracy, atheism, modern science are definitvely not there to manipulate you, lol.
      if you're dumb enough to believe that our existence has a material cause go for it, just don't spit your nonesense here, i'm an ex atheist and one of the reasons i left is bcs this bs doesn't cut it anymore with me.

      Be careful what you look at in determining what to follow in terms of following Jesus. You will find sin in every sect. Take the Bible at face value and read it for yourself in context.
      The Bible says “But do not be called Rabbi; for One is your Teacher, and you are all brothers. Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven. Do not be called leaders; for One is your Leader, that is, Christ. But the greatest among you shall be your servant. Whoever exalts himself shall be humbled; and whoever humbles himself shall be exalted.”

    This seems to mirror my reluctance to go to confession. Why go? You’re not going to change. Why pretend you are Holy? You’ll just sin again. You don’t deserve forgiveness. You don’t really want to repent. You’re too weak to resist sin. You’ll just be right back to confession next week. The priest is going to judge you when he hears the same sin over and over.

      come to confession! it is a place of healing. it is were you are washed out of your sins. it is an act of charity with God, who wants to be closer to you through confession. even if you think you will sin again later, try to focus only on today. we dont know what will come of the future, nor do we know if this confession will be the last one for some of your sins (it can be!). cheers and may the holy mother of God bless you! try the consacration to Mary through St. Louis Montfort's method... it helped me.

    Very good interview. I would probably stress that any discernment should be done alongside a spiritual director. He will help you sort out what's true vocational signs and what is from the devil. If you go it alone, you risk interpreting genuine signs of a vocation as being from the devil and vice versa. I've known seminarians who have been so twisted up by this that they end up in a sad state. They saw signs that they shouldn't have been in seminary as being temptations. A good director is key.

Neither option is straight forward but I now suspect that being a Priest would be far more rewarding; being a servant of God.

    Tonsure is a Latin word meaning to shear, or set aside. Men entering religious life or priesthood formation will cut the hair of the man, traditionally the crown of the head about size of the priest host, more modern is 4 cuts in the sign of a cross on four points on the man's head. For women entering religious life the ceremony is the same rite but more to shear one clump of hair rather than the clerical form of tonsure of a man. Both rites are beautiful, and should be brought back to the universal Church, not just those remnants holding on to the True Tradition of the Faith. Pax et bonum!

    Question: what do you tell someone that does not believe in the devil and thinks just our own concupiscence that is causing temptation.

    • @Spectrometer
      @Spectrometer 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I am not Natalia but I tell you that you should believe in the Devil. Jesus talked extensively about the Devil and his existence is part of Catholic Dogma. You shouldn't obsess or delight with him either, but you should be catious that he sometimes is the one who starts temptations.

    Question: is there a sin that for wich you must not become a catholic monk or priest?

  • @davidm1149
    @davidm1149 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Firstly, much people ascribe to the "Devil" is really their own dark counterpart that needs to be overcome. I don't know that Saturn worship would quite do it for me.

    Why do we give so much power to Satan? Why do we do easily believe Satan's lies rather than Jesus's truths. "Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world". Satan has no power over us that we don't give him.

    No, actually nobody can say that the History in Ezekiel and other parts is irrelevant to the struggles mankind faces today, because frankly in the Hermetic Universe I got modelled right here up to perfect zoom level temporality collapses. Satan does not live in temporality, in other words.

    "The Earth revolves around the Sun." That one is technical. "What we're doing here, together, isn't damaging to Society." That one's frontal. So, you see, since what they're doing is against any Law system, I cannot accept the Omerta :))

      I’ll answer as a Carmelite nun. We have a series of psychological tests that vet a lot of those questions and backgrounds. If we believe the person is able to live a chaste life that’s not going to prevent them from pursuing religious life. However in any religious life, formation is anywhere from 6-12 years. That behavior comes out the candidate is simply dismissed. Same with heterosexual behavior. If the person is not able to live a chaste life they are not called to religious life.

    I love the fact sister Natalia became a nun we need more but at the same time hate to say it but catholic men are in desperate need for good catholic women to date , to marry Godwilling. Then again Jesus comes first so he should get all the good girls he can share when we’re in heaven I’m sure 😂. Godbless all

    The devil tries to propose negative comments about you, especially after you repent from your sins by doing the right confession. Also, the sins of the flesh will try to tempt us, as we may have been sinning often before the confession. But we have to remember that we are not created to live as slavery of sins but to be in freedom. (2 Cor. 12: 20-21).
