So glad you took Lumpy to the Vet. I kind of felt bad for him because he was so anxious. When he threw himself against the trailer walls I was afraid he would rupture his hernia. But he came out fine and it's good to find out "the rest of the story" about his lump. Everyone knows that you all will take good care of him just like you do the other bison! Thanks for sharing the news in a timely manner! Take care of yourself, Dusty!
Lumpy is as healthy as he can be considering his hernia issue. He is lucky to be with you! I'm sorry nothing can be done, but he couldn't be in a better place! I love your channel Dusty! Thank you for sharing these beautiful bison with us!
It bitter sweet, sad he can't be fixed but happy he get's to come home and live his life with you and your family loving and caring and of course all of us loving and praying for him! Thank You for being such a caring and compassionate person... He couldn't be in a better place!
It is so kind of you to take Lumpy to the vet. The bigger the animal the bigger the bill. I'm so glad that he is part of your bison family because I know you will take good care of him and he will have a great quality of life living with you and the rest of the bison.
Lumpy is being loved and cared for the best you can!!! This is where he needs to be till the time comes to say goodbye. I know in my heart you'll make that decision when he's ready. Thanks for loving him!!!! 🥰🤗🥰🤗🥰
Dusty, God bless you for your kindness to this poor animal. You are genuinely a good hearted person. No action goes in noticed by Him. You and your family will be rewarded in ways that matter. He sent this bull to you specifically, it was no accident that you were the one who found him. God bless! Thank you for sharing your experiences with us.
Dusty, I want to thank You for at least trying to get help for Lumpy ! As long as he is on your farm , he’s living a good life ! Let him be himself until a day comes for different measures ! He looks a lot better than when you brought him home . So he’s doing good ! God Bless You and your family for loving these animals and give them a great home ! They are beautiful creatures !
Thanks for the update on Lumpy and thank you for the brief tour of Oklahoma State. I think I saw a brief glimpse of the top of Bennett Hall.....my residence during the school year 1956-57. I wish Lumpy the best......and I know he will receive great care on your farm.
Sending love ❤️ I have seen so many videos where the owner thinks he is a vet. Then goes ahead without seeing a vet and just stabbing any large lump. Such a breath of fresh air seeing you. Such a responsible loving owner.
Whoo. He went right in. Awesome.. He turned and looked like" What was that?" So sorry he can't have surgery . He is in the best place he can be. GOD BLESS YOU , DUßTY.
I know that was tough for Lumpy, but at least you were able to confirm what Doc Parsons knew. Lumpy is in great hands, and in a wonderful home with friends for company. God bless you Dusty!
Hi Dusty. That's the best for Lumpy is to let him live his life out at your farm. Surrounded by his own kind. I'm so happy that you are able to let him do it 😊 I truly enjoy your videos! Thanks for all you do and be safe and healthy 👍
Surgery on this huge lump is bad enough, but to consider for a bison sounds very sketchy! They are so powerful and do lots of ramming and I believe it would never work on such a huge area. Mesh also cause infections! In humans too! I think Lumpy is best off "as is". for as long as he stays happy, eats and lives a good bison life! If it weren't for Dusty I don't think there would be Lumpy. He would have gone to the happy hunting grounds long ago and we know he prefers to hang out with Big Joe and Dunbar plus the girls. The way he jumped around in that wagon ....I think he could do his thing with a bison girl and produce a little Lumpy without a lump! So Dusty....let him be and don't worry about him... :)
Thank you Dusty for what you did for Lumpy. He’s truly lucky to have your ranch to live the fullest. I know you will take good care of him. I bet Lumpy was happy to be home.
Sometimes the best we can do for our animals that God has blessed us with is to just help them be as comfortable and happy as they can be for whatever time we're blessed to have them. Lumpy is truly blessed to be with y'all!!!
You're the type of rancher that is commended. You love and care for each animal under your care. You've named them, that says quite a bit. I raise goats, each has a name and they are talked to everyday just like your bison.
Lumpy is in the best place he could ever be. You are so good to him! You give him love and that's what is important. My nephew goes to College there!😊🤗
Well, you tried Dusty. Medicine has its limits. As long as he has a good quality of life, let him live it. If that changes, you'll have to decide on the most compassionate course of action. Thank you for sharing his story.
Thank You for taking us with you! It was an outstanding video starting right from the beginning to the end! How you got him in and out of the trailer both ways, and your time taking a day off for Lumpy! That shows how much you care for a member in your herd. You are a wonderful man Dusty! 🤗
Hello, Dusty.. Well Lumpy, is going to have a great life there on the farm. Thank you for giving us an update, take care and God bless... and God bless Lumpy
You are so awesome! Poor "Lumpy", we all love him and know you will take good care of him. I imagine it was great riding around on campus again. Thank you for sharing "Lumpy's" trip to OSU.
Dusty, you rock! you are so patient and good with the bison. even when you're chasing them and they're going the wrong direction and most people would be cussing and screaming, you're cool as a cucumber and you always get them to go where they need to go. thank you for taking such good care of lumpy!!
Loved reading through all the positive and encouraging comments. Dusty, you are a good man who is also revealing your character of kindness and a core value of caring for one of God's creatures. Much love from this city girl who enjoys learning about your life and the way of bison!
I think we've all come to love Lumpy as much as we do Dunbar and the girls. Lumpy doesn't know he is lucky to be living his best life there at Cross Timbers.
So glad you had this opportunity to have Lumpy evaluated by more Vets and with great technology for verification. I can see your pride at being able to contribute a teaching moment to the students and staff at the clinic. Beautiful campus I think Lumpy enjoyed the tour! Thanks for taking us along.
Where else would you take your bison 🦬 on a college campus tour, Oklahoma State of course! Dusty, a teacher’s gotta teacher…you just can’t pass up an opportunity…lol Good for the veterinary students to get that rare chance to examine an injured bison 🦬 up close and personal, it only enhances their knowledge of the bison.. hopefully another Doc Parsons will emerge thanks to you, god bless…
Thanks for the MU shout out. My Dad, my brother, me, my son and now a granddaughter are all Mizzou alumni. It's a magnificent school with a lot of great programs. During my clinical hours in Radiology, I worked in the vet school to learn about handling and x-raying animals. It was great experience.
I realize that. He’s in southern part. I will give him a little bit of grief. He is doing a great job. Look forward to a bunch of success he will have both on TH-cam and personal.
So many people are following Lumpy and Please share his story and the compassion of Dusty to get him checked out and I hope the sharing will bring lots of subscribers to the channel.
Thank you for keeping us so informed in all that you do . Sorry to hear that there isn’t anything you can do for Lumpy except keep I’m keeping on! Loved seeing Dunbar 😘 I also love all the gates you have they certainly help keep everything easier and safer! Say hi to Marisa and Brook! Don’t forget Eleanor’s extra loving 😘 .
Thanks for taking the time and effort for Lumpy. You have made an effort to improve his well being probably much like you would do for any of your animals. Good for you and I think it is simply a part of being a proactive farmer and rancher. Keep this up and you yourself will do well!
what I like about your approach is the excellent care you take with the bison even if they will go to slaughter eventually. To me being a good steward of land and animals is the right thing to do.
It was great you got Lumpy checked out and know for sure it is best not to so the surgery for him. It puts your mind and everyone at ease that he'll be fine as long as you said he's still eating and thriving. Certainly was a learning/teaching moment for all the students at your old school. 😀 They got a nice treat/experience to see a bison and learn from it and possibly have some comparison / differences with cattle and bison. You are doing a great job with Lumpy and all the bison you have on the farm.
Lumpy has a good home, a good life and a good chance for a some more time with his Bison Buds. You already “saved” him and everyday he has now is a gift. Glad the students got to see him. Sorry he can’t be helped further.
It was gracious of you to explore all possibilities to heal "Lumpy" of his hernia. Spending the time and resources to get another opinion was precious for Lumpy. It is too bad that the negatives out weighs Lumpy getting better. But you know now and knowledge of that fact is important to what is best for Lumpy. He is in great place and you will care for him, because you care about him and the rest of your herd. He's happy being with you, with the herd, and he's comfortable with his surroundings. So, I'll raise my glass and give Lumpy a toast for him to have a long life at your ranch - Cross Timbers Bison. Here, Here!!
Dusty Lumpy is lucky to have you. You tried to get him help. Now he can live his life with the others. Who knows he could live many years. Hes going to be taken very good care of. Thanks for sharing. Love you guys.
Lumpy is blessed and he has you to take care of him. Lumpy still has a lot of time with your care, just take it one day at the time. I know it's hard to find out that having the repair done could make matters worse instead of better. Prayers for you and the buffalo who have always been such a huge part of our country's history.😊❤
What a wonderful, kind man you are, Dusty. Your videos are very interesting and contain great teachable moments. No doubt your students miss you but that's your viewers' gain. It's also a blessing to see a Godly man do what The Lord commanded...have dominion over the earth. Your care of His creation has to please Him. Thank you for sharing your life snd your herd with us.
Thank you for the update. I was lookin forward to finding out about Lumpy. God bless & I hope & pray that he can have a fairly normal & lengthy life, especially with how well y'all take care of ur bison!
I'm glad you had a good overall experience at OK STATE. Sad that they couldn't help Lumpy, but you pretty much knew that already. We all know you will take good care of him at your ranch and he can do Bison stuff with his buddies. 👍
A comfort to know exactly what is wrong. Lumpy is living with his injury and seems to have adjusted. This is actually a sound decision rather than him dying miserably from a surgery that most likely would not succeed. Dusty you have another pet bison now. We all know you are a pet lover too 👍
You have my utmost respect for your treatment of your Bisons! Love the content and my granddaughters and I are learning from your channel about bisons! THAMKS!
Thank you for taking such good care of him. Lumpy knows he's got a great home. We all know he's got a great home! The Good Lord sent him where he could get the most love & live his best life, however long it may be. Sending your family love and best wishes from Memphis, TN!
Well you did your best and now you know. I feel sure Lumpy will trive with the herd and live out his life. He couldn't have a better home than with you Dusty. Thank you for sharing Lumpy's journey to the Vet. ❤🙏
you did the best you could, so now lumpy just has to hang in there and be a lump.! great that you loaded him into the trailer by yourself, great video. Thank You, Annmarie in Oregon
Dusty, you are the best thing that could have happened for Lumpy. He's lucky he found you and all the care you've given him. He's safe and content with you and his bison buds. What could be better?
Thank you for getting him checked out, Dusty! Nice to know he is home and will stay there with the herd and live a near normal bison life. Hopefully he keeps eating and drinking his water and knows he is cared for!
Your taking great care of Lumpy. Don't know many Ranchers that would of done what you did. He'll live a great life on your Bison Farm. God Bless and Peace from WV
Thank you for the update on Lumpy and for taking him to Stillwater Oklahoma state university. It is a nice big place. At least you know the options. You are a good person For taking good care of your bison Dusty. I admire y ou. You can sure tell you love what you do with your bison. I know you will do what you can with Lumpy. He is in good hands. I love Dunbar getting all worked up and scrapping hoof on the ground throwing dirt then rolling around In it. Dunbar is so majestic and nothing to worry about that young steer. Dunbar is a favorite. It will be okay. Lumpy you are in a good place. Take care.
Sometimes leaving things alone is better than making the situation worse. Appreciate you filming and explaining things the way you do. It says a lot about a man that respects his animals and doesn’t treat them like a piece of meat. You know if a man respects his animals then he is a man of honor. So glad I found your channel. Prayers Love and Peace
Thank you for the time and effort to get Lumpy checked out and verified what Doc said. You've done what you can and I saw the note that said something about water treatment, hopefully that will be an option. In any case, Lumpy hit the jackpot when he came to CrossTimbers!
It was a good teaching experience for you and the Lump, and learning experience for the students there. I hope that will spark interest in some for wildlife specialties. At least you know the situation, and he seems content at the ranch. Great Job and thank you for bringing us along. Peace.
Respect for your compassion and having this hernia evaluated at the OSU vet college hospital. Was once a vet student and understand this was also a great learning experience for vet students, staff, and all of us. I hope he’ll do well for a long time. I was relieved you weren’t hurt in trying to get him loaded on the farm. Are trained cattle dogs used on bison ranches? I’ve not seen them with bison, but they’re amazing with cattle!
I'm glad you got them checked out to see what the options were. Letting him live as good of life as he can is not the worst option out there. Good job.
Well I’d say that went quite well. Lumpys not too happy right now but he’ll settle down..I love watching your channel grow. Lumpy sure is glad to be home
So Interesting! And so glad you at least had Lumpy looked at. I know this is your business and an injured rescued bison is probably not going to help the bottom line so we appreciate the care you are giving him. Sounds like living out his life at Cross Timbers is not a bad deal for your boy. I hope he continues to do well.
Awwwwww Lumpy I was hoping it could be fixed thats got to be uncomfortable. Maybe Dusty's vet can make you a Buffalo truss to hold the hernia in. Thanks for icluding us to the University with you really enjoyed it.👍👍👋
Awww we Love Lumpy❤️ and Elenore ❤️ They are so Blessed to have found your family. They need to be Cabin mascots. LOL Who wouldn't love to see welcoming Bison as you pull up to your Cabin 😊
Thank you for sharing Dusty. Didn't know you were a teacher for 10 years..what did you teach? Lumpy will be very happy to know he is safe and well cared for on the farm. Thank you for doing what you do and being passionate about your work. May God bless your family. 🙏🙏
So glad you took Lumpy to the Vet. I kind of felt bad for him because he was so anxious. When he threw himself against the trailer walls I was afraid he would rupture his hernia. I love it that when Lumpy got home the first thing was "where'd you go, Bud?" I love all your crew but THANK YOU for taking care of the Lumpster.
Thanks for the update on Lumpy...I hope we see more of him. You are a great teacher to all of us watching you.
It bitter sweet, sad he can't be fixed but happy he get's to come home and live his life with you and your family loving and caring and of course all of us loving and praying for him! Thank You for being such a caring and compassionate person... He couldn't be in a better place!
Thank you for taking care of Lumpy 👍 🙏 🥺
Amazing to see him just get into the trailer like that both times. I bet a lot of cattle farmers wished their cattle entered the trailers that easily.
Keep us posted on Lumpy's progress. He's lucky to have you all to care for him.
Aaaawa! No matter how scared Lumpy was.. he trusted you and worked with you without the super Frustration! Great job 👏 😊
God Bless you all Dusty. Lumpy is still a handsome man even with his injury. He is truly blessed to have you for his dad...
He is so blessed to have you looking out for him. He wouldn't have make it this far without being tuff, he is your special needs bison.
It is so kind of you to take Lumpy to the vet. The bigger the animal the bigger the bill. I'm so glad that he is part of your bison family because I know you will take good care of him and he will have a great quality of life living with you and the rest of the bison.
It's my hope that you'll have some special videos one-on-one with Lumpy like you do with Eleanor. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
THANK YOU! 💜
As is Eleanore. 🦬
How about a cow dog?
can we see more of lumpy?
Lumpy is being loved and cared for the best you can!!! This is where he needs to be till the time comes to say goodbye. I know in my heart you'll make that decision when he's ready. Thanks for loving him!!!! 🥰🤗🥰🤗🥰
Lumpy will be able to live his best life on your farm, Dusty, with the best you have to take care of him.

We love Lumpy and so grateful you are the ones caring for him! Keep up the great efforts.
Thank you for caring about him. He couldn’t be in better hands. What a fantastic job of loading him. Take care!
We love Lumpy!! We love you too, Dusty!! Thank you for taking us along on this journey with your herd. May God continue to greatly bless you!!

Yes lumpy is one lucky bison to have you taking care of him. You are a blessing
Hi Dusty. That's the best for Lumpy is to let him live his life out at your farm. Surrounded by his own kind. I'm so happy that you are able to let him do it 😊
I truly enjoy your videos! Thanks for all you do and be safe and healthy 👍

Thank you Dusty for what you did for Lumpy. He’s truly lucky to have your ranch to live the fullest. I know you will take good care of him. I bet Lumpy was happy to be home.
To bad there will be all these problems he would get if you try to fix him but you have fixed him in a way you gave him a awesome home 🤗💙
Thank you and your family for taking care of lumpy he deserves a person like you guys and I know you're loving care for him

He's safe and content with you and his bison buds. What could be better?
Thank you for getting him checked out, Dusty! Nice to know he is home and will stay there with the herd and live a near normal bison life. Hopefully he keeps eating and drinking his water and knows he is cared for!
Thanks for sharing Lumpy's experience, At least he is relatively safe on your farm and will be well cared for. You did a good thing. 😊 👍
Thank you for updating us. Luck was on his side when he found his way to you.
You are a good person
For taking good care of your bison Dusty. Take care.
Thanks for getting Lumpy looked at and giving him a home to live his life out.
Lumpy has a good home & lots of love. We all live with imperfections - he can too! Thanks for all you do🥰
It's like dogs with cancer or missing a leg, the other dogs don't notice, much less what color they are.
Very interesting video. Thank you for taking on the job of raising and caring for Lumpy. May he have a long and healthy life. ❤️
Thank you for the time and effort to get Lumpy checked out and verified what Doc said. You've done what you can and I saw the note that said something about water treatment, hopefully that will be an option. In any case, Lumpy hit the jackpot when he came to CrossTimbers!
Thanks for the tour of the Oklahoma State University campus; it is huge. More like a town than a campus and the veterinary school looks top-notch.
Oh poor youngster. Glad he is with people who care and will give home a good life.
I'm glad you got them checked out to see what the options were. Letting him live as good of life as he can is not the worst option out there. Good job.
Feel sorry for him but happy things went well
hope things go well going forward. Good work Dusty
That was so impressive on what you did all by yourself. I thought I would be laughing but instead I was amazed.
Awwwwww Lumpy
I was hoping it could be fixed thats got to be uncomfortable.
Thank you Dusty, for everything you do for lumpy.
Thank you for sharing Dusty. Didn't know you were a teacher for 10 years..what did you teach?
Lumpy will be very happy to know he is safe and well cared for on the farm.
Thank you for doing what you do and being passionate about your work. May God bless your family. 🙏🙏
Happy to hear your confirmed suspicions with Lumpy.
Glad all went well.
