Plus it was very funny as Samuel kept repeating this sentence too many times, more than necessary.
Missed opportunity though: Show a counter, rising with every word „day“ spoken out. Ding ding ding (the sound of old cash registers), the numbers add up, like counting money…

about macos on ipad - it's not that people want macos on ipad, it's that the ipad has a ridiculously powerful chip which is a complete waste if it does not run macos
Nah, there is adefinitely a vocal contingent of people who straight up want macOS on iPad. But it is a smaller contingent than the group of people who rightfully grumble about iPadOS being lacking for what the iPad Pro should be capable of.

The chips are ridiculously powerful for years to come. Let’s use the A12 Z or X it was ridiculously powerful at the time and it still runs 90% of the apps on the App Store perfectly aside.

Dear friends, if your children still use an iPad, enable the color filters in the settings to grayscale. They will be able to watch the same cartoons, but it will have much less impact on their dopamine system. It will also be less interesting, as the world around them is colorful while the iPad is black and white.

I use a 7th gen iPad with the A10 Fusion everyday and am still very happy with it. More power is fine but i have never felt the need for more power. This thing never feels slow.

I bought the 2018 11" iPad Pro the day it came out, and other than a $119 "battery replacement" a few months ago, have had zero issues with it, and it still runs perfectly. I put "battery replacement" in quotes because Apple doesn't actually replace the battery, they just give you a NOS entire replacement. New screen, new chassis, new battery, everything. MINT CONDITION REPLACEMENT for $119!! If this iPad lasts me another 5 years, I will use it for another 5 years. I see zero need to ever replace it unless it completely dies.

It’s good.. still rocking 2018 ipad pro..just the battery life is gone bad due to updates ( apple intentionally reduced it, otherwise no one will buy new devices)

This is my exact upgrade. I went from the 2018 to the M4 as well. It’s mainly going to pay off with Apple intelligence. And future proofing. Plus I have a pretty big project that I’m working on.

Great video! I traded in my 2018 iPP for the M4. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the 2018. Was using it with the Magic Keyboard and mouse with a stand as I did not like the iPP keyboard at the time. Now I have the 2024 keyboard, pencil and love the combo (which I got on credit card points). Also like the centre camera and screen. The new setup is great and don’t regret the switch.

I just got a 2018 iPad Pro 11” 2 weeks ago as someone who has never owned a tablet and let me tell you it was worth every penny. I was shocked by how buttery smooth it is, even on iPadOS 18 Beta even.

I am a guy who update my gear often. But guess what you are right. I AM watching this video with the 2018 iPad Pro and typing with the Magic Keyboard. The new iPad Pro has not convinced me to buy one. The screen of the 2018 is still brilliant. It is a lil heavy combined but still it is not slow by any means. It is one of my oldest active gear in my arsenal. Good job Apple. Secondly, the dillema is that if iPadOS and MacOS is kept split, it means if I have to travel, I need to bring BOTH, costing alot of money and carrying alot of weight. Not ideal. Good Job Apple for this trick.

Great video, and I actually just did this same upgrade (2018 11” iPP to M4 11” iPP). I didn’t “need” it, but it’s an affordable splurge after 6 years of use, and I’m also able to give my old one to my kid (replaces their 10.5 iPP A10X which was also mine before the 2018 iPP)

I don’t need the latest for sure, but I got the 13” and 11” because I to carry both back and forth and for me many commutes and anything lighter and thinner is a must for me.
I have the iPad 11” 2nd Gen. It does everything I need, the new OLED screen is attractive but I chose to upgrade my iMac. New iPad next year

I currently have the 2018 11” iPad Pro, I too use it for iPad things and have a Mac for computer things. I was considering the upgrade only because the battery life is not as long as it used to be. I’m losing about 3 to 4 hours compared to when it was new. I also want the bigger one, but I can’t justify the upgrade. It still does everything I need it to do without any problems, aside from having to charge it more often. If Apple offered more ram without upgrading the storage I’d make the purchase.
You’re totally right. I upgraded my 2020 iPad Pro which I use everyday..and the M4 is in no way better. None. The screen is slightly better, that’s it for me. Everything else is identical in my usage. Seriously considering returning it as well.

Apple has become more focused on how to put their hands in our pockets with misleading technical specifications, beautiful packaging, and paid review content. If you avoid their updates, your device's performance will remain better, and your battery won't degrade as quickly. They even go so far as to slow down and kill our devices through these updates to boost sales and make their new, fake technical specifications seem more impressive as in their ads.

This males sense to me personally. I use a 2020 iPad Air, my brother uses an M1 Air, and my mom uses an M2 Air and, having used all 3, I feel no reason to upgrade from the 2020 (even stage manager - my laptop is better anyway)

Great point, mate. The M4 iPad Pro is ridiculously expensive with no added value over the M1 or M2 Pros. It’s even pricier than the latest 15” MacBook Airs when configured with same storage even without the new Magic Keyboard :/
The M4 iPad with the new keyboard is too expensive, especially for a casual user...But as a casual user myself, I traded in my 11" 2018 iPad Pro for the 13" M4 iPad Pro, and I'm so glad I did. The screen size is obviously different, but even web browsing is noticeably snappier on the M4. If you can afford it and are on the fence, go for it.
